Since buying a home with a lot of open space, I have planted many trees, shrubs and vines, all flowering. Recently bought a couple of 5 gallon new dawn roses for $ 30 and a large chain nursery on the same road had this rose for over 2X the amount. Also Mullinax will not sell hybrid tea roses as they require a lot of effort to keep them free of fungus and have a poor track record in our humidity. Once clue as what professional landscapers think of this place, just look around and you see a lot of guys with big trailers buying their landscaping plants here — they know because they are in that business. Avoid the large chains. BTW the Rutgers tomato plants they sell are fantastic yielding and are heirloom if that matters to you.

WHOA! This place is overwhelming! I thought that I would like to see the trees and shrubs but was just overwhelmed. When you enter the property, you should be given a directory or map to show the layout of everything. The employees were in the office and very nice and I had an opportunity to chat with them prior to leaving. However, this is just not my thing. This is the place that I would simply call on the phone and place an order to be delivered. It is open toward the front but as you go further in, it seems a bit closed in and there are literally trees and bushes everywhere. I was definitely out of my comfort zone. I believe that this business really caters to the commercial client because no one can comfortably negotiate this property but employees. It was just too much for me, the average homeowner. I need it open, neat and easily traveled. Since these places don’t usually have employees out and about, they should make it easy for visitors to be self-sufficient. If you must go, make sure that you are wearing work or rain boots because there is a lot of mud and water. This will happen even if there are no recent rains due to plants being watered. This property is very natural and is like walking into woods. There are no gravel or concrete surfaces for your walking pleasure. Sometimes you need more than Lowes and Home Depot but for me, this is not quite the place. I did spy some beautiful plants in one of the tents so I will probably check back if I am not able to find something similar elsewhere. Otherwise, I am staying out of the jungle!
