Decent little combination restaurant/grocer with a nice selection of freshly made, unique options. We visited mid afternoon on Columbus Day, so I don’t know if it was just the crowd but we found the service to be a bit spotty and indifferent. We’ll probably make another visit though when in the vicinity as we took home a couple of vegetable dishes from their small deli area and found them both to be excellent.

While we live 3 hours away, we have family out here and come to the Creamery 4 – 5 times a year because I love their breakfasts. We also come during Fair weekend because it’s the last stop for«real food». If you are looking for cheap, you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for ethical nutrition and yummy tastes, you have found it. For $ 25 we both had a coffee and our creation of a bread-less bacon/egg/cheese on top of fresh vegetables. I’m a huge fan of the roasted portobello, peppers, and capers over spinach lettuce tomato onion. My partner got the sautéed kale and garlic. We are both happy.(He thinks he will be hungry again in an hour, but I know I won’t) Side note — the eggs are the yellow rectangle patties, but it’s forgivable. I’ve also had the Reuben as a salad — and that was heavenly. This place is also a general store and had a great selection of groceries, herbals, bulk spices, and other sundries.

Just stopped in because we have heard such great things about it. Stood at the deli and was completely ignored while the workers talked amongst themselves, so we left and went someplace else. Very disappointed.

It’s a bit expensive but their food and selection are great, the employees are friendly and welcoming to everyone equally and the atmosphere is absolutely top notch. I also adore the mini bookstore.

Definitely the place to stop if you are between the Berkshires and Northampton/Pioneer Valley area. I stop almost everyday to get coffee and scones, or other delicious morning treats. I found the grill cheese incredibly good, as well as bagels, and other fresh made snacks. The grocery is well stack with local organic products(veggie, fruits, and cheese) as well as all sort of necessaries. Everyone is really nice and welcoming. It’s always a pleasure stoping by.

I visit the berkshires regularly from new york and this is the place to get the best warm fresh donuts, the best fun bottles of wine, candles, ice cream, any kind of food there especially coffee in the morning. you can picnic outside in the summer on the outdoor benches and tables, and when it is winter its warm and cozy inside. you go here to post bulletins and view local bulletins, get the paper and for the best fresh pies. as a visitor to a friend’s summer house this is the usual daily place we go to when in massachusetts.

Everything I’ve gotten here has been great. The sandwiches, coffee, cookies, muffins, scones, and some other stuff I can’t remember. Any time I’m in the area, I make a stop here. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. It’s probably my favorite place to eat.

I have easily had one of the best BLT sandwiches in living memory here. This is a wonderful local shop pluncked down in the middle of almost nowhere, which not only offers fresh-baked goods, but an amazing sandwich counter and prepared-foods counter. Friends of mine took home a pound of their homemade roasted beef which they raved about. Plenty of comfort food here. Even just walking around, this is basically an upmarket local corner store only instead of stuff you’d find at Safeway, it’s stocked with goodies you would easily find at Whole Foods. Forget convenience store, this is a gourmet mini-mart. With a small eating area in the front, you’ll find many locals here having their lunch while reading their newspaper, you’ll also find a small selection of interesting books based on gardening and environmental themes near the front as well. I’m sure if I lived around here, I’d probably become a regular.

This place makes some of the best sandwiches ever. I’d say the best around, but not much else is around, so… as good if not better than anything in Northampton. Decent place for some groceries, with a moderate markup due to being quite a bit in the hilltowns, so it’s entirely understandable. Great people, lovely place to sit and nosh, plus you’ll get to chat with locals and read the latest news. Get the hot chocolate! It’s amaaaaaazing.

The best soups, Mac and cheese, fresh baked bread. Excellent place to grab a snack or forgotten essentials. Sour cherry pie is a family favorite! I love the expanded parking! Also love that there’s a place to sit, chat and eat. I’m not a fan of the new«improved» layout it makes the space feel more crowded than it should be.

The Creamery is a wonderful old time general store, café, gift shop, gathering spot all in one. I actually know many folks who chose to live in this area because the Creamery is here! Here you will find garden seeds, cards, ceramics, a wide selection of organic and local produce, groceries, wonderful musicians or speakers some evenings, a full range of delicious, home cooked fresh foods. Green beans and dill, ginger carrot soup, vegetarian shepherds pie, butternut wild rice and cheese casserole, natural chicken, mac and cheese are just a few of my favorites. Then there is ice cream and a mouth watering array of homemade deserts to choose from. Few people know that Alice for many years managed a large, resort conference center kitchen that was known for its food! While one can get hot dogs, and a wide range of standard deli fare here, the home prepared food offerings rival the quality of a fine restaurant, and the choice is really quite amazing for a little country one room store! Note — they NO longer carry gas, even so I often stop by on the start of travels heading west, or on my way cross country skiing at Notch View, to pick up food to go. I also come in with friends or family while in the area to enjoy a leisurely lunch at their café tables. I love the place! Alice and Amy have put their heart into making this place so wonderful, and welcoming, and those who visit and live here are the lucky recipients!

Alice and Amy, the current owners, have created a magical place where people from all over come together to shop, eat, and socialize. You will find organic local produce, home made cooking to go or stay, books jams and ice cream! Most of all they make you feel like an old friend the first time you come through the door.

Alice, one of the owners and cook, recently catered our event, and it was so yummmy! Try her brown rice, mushroom, yam, nuts, and cheese casserole. Also home made breads delish!

We made the trip between Northampton and the Berkshires nearly every weekend for a few years, and regularly stopped at the Old Creamery — or, as we affectionately dubbed it, «The Cow,» so-called because of the large fiberglass(?) cow on the roof. Though they sell gas(for ridiculously high prices), this is way more than just an isolated convenience store in a charming building. Inside there’s a largely organic, mostly gourmet market; a robust wine selection; and — most importantly — an amazing deli with eat-in tables available for weary travelers. I’ve had the most fun picking single servings of dishes that appeal to me, though there are more standard sandwiches and hot dogs available. I’ve especially enjoyed the daily special quiche, the green beans with sesame seeds, and, best of all, the cranberry-almond couscous. The food is simple, flavorful and creative. Everything I’ve tried has blown me away — it puts yuppie salad bar/deli institutions like Whole Foods to shame with its superior flavors and cheaper prices(though it’s not fast food prices, by any means). If you happen upon something you especially like from the deli case, you can get a big container to take home — this is, fundamentally, a local market, after all. If you’re hitting The Cow during the spring, summer or fall harvest seasons, you may get the opportunity to buy some beautiful local produce as well, either to eat in or to take home. The Cow offers local products for sale, such as ceramics, soaps and the like. This fits well with the crunchy vibe — also evident in the available reading material while you eat, which includes old issues of Mother Jones and the Utne Reader. Last time I was at The Cow — and I’ll confirm when we’re back this summer — they had a piece of posterboard on the wall by one of the doors listing animals that had been seen in the area. It was always a fun read, with little kids contributing and the local pranksters adding Sasquatch sightings. If it’s still there, take a few minutes and enjoy a chuckle before you get back on the road.
