Larry is an amazing teacher. Very patient and knows how to keep the lessons fun and challenging. My 6 yr old has been going for six months now and this is one class he really likes going to. The room where the lessons are is very comfortable and he is very efficient with his time so that a lots gets covered even in half an hour session.

I cannot say enough good things about Larry. He has been teaching my girls(now 15 and 11) for the last 10 years. We have been very happy with him. This is one lesson that they are always happy to go to, which speaks for itself. When they were very young, my children began by following the Suzuki Method, so that they were not overwhelmed by the need to read music. As they got older, more theory and exams were introduced. Larry has a degree in music, and deals very well with children — very patient and encouraging. If you wish, he will put your child on track to do piano exams. I have seen him deal with children of varying temperaments with very good results. He does not«drill-and-kill», but keeps children motivated through constant encouragement. He is also very efficient with his time, and gets a lot covered in a short lesson. Larry is also actively involved in a local Chamber Music Society and owns a fabulous Steinway B semi-concert grand which he meticulously maintains. It’s a rare thing for students to be able to play on such a high quality instrument for lessons(no spinet in a tiny room here!), and parents can relax in his studio enjoying the music. He also holds recitals from time to time, so that children get the experience of playing for an audience. If you want your child to learn in a calm, kind and encouraging environment, I highly recommend Larry Matteucig!
