My mom went there a couple of times… the quality is good, but EXPENSIVE and service is POOR every time. They always have commercials on Chinese channels, however it’s never what they advertised(they told my mom the discount is only baby size, SERIOUSLY?! Baby size to cover my foot?!) Our last draw is a couple of days ago, my aunt bought a comforter cover that was defective. She went back the day after to return the product and got CHEWEDOUT by the sales person. She asked where did my aunt came from and insinuated that classy Chinese people don’t return stuff. She kept YELLING(seriously yelling) at my aunt for returning the comforter that my aunt didn’t even have time to tell the sales person the product is defective. Suffice to say, we will NOT go back EVER! Go at your own risk.

My parents are from Taiwan and they only like the Taiwanese-Asian style bedding because they refuse to progress. Anyhow, we frequent this place because it’s hard to find another store that sells comforters filled with silk, cotton, lambs wool and even bamboo fiber. They even have these buckwheat hull pillows that my dad swears by. The lady at the store reminds me of the local shops in Taiwan where the owner is pretty laid-back and will answer your questions while attempting to sell you more stuff. Anyhow, I am happy as long as my parents are well-taken care of.

I was so glad that there was an avenue( Unilocal) for me to vent my frustration; I would gladly choose the zero star option if there were one on Unilocal. I had previously bought two sets of silk comforters at Summit. I returned this weekend to buy another set for the winter. My previous impression of Summit was that the store had above average quality for silk comforters but below average customer service. This time, customer service was so poor that I felt obligated to write this Unilocal review. A lady called Margaret came to help us. Margaret was not very helpful and had no knowledge of what customer service was. I had encountered stores with a no-haggle policy, and I could respect that. However, the sales clerks at the other stores were always very nice at explaining their store policy. Margaret had a «take-it-or-leave-it» attitude. She made it sound like if you could not pay their price, then you were not good enough for their comforters. She even said that the employees at Summit would pay the same price for Summit’s comforters as regular customers. Come on. Give me a break! I told Margaret that if that were the case, then whoever owned Summit was not a very good boss and did not know how to take care of his/her employees. We were not talking about an inexpensive product. We were talking about a comforter that cost upwards of $ 200. In this recession of an economy, I would expect a store to be more responsive to its customers — if not in price, then at least in attitude. To make a long story short, I just left the store and vowed never to come back. I just hoped that whoever owned Summit would read this review. Though you may have above average quality for silk comforter, your poor customer service would drive many of your existing customers away!

Down comforter stinks and besides many people are allergic to down. What is an alternative? Silk comforter. We bought silk comforters from Summit Bedding and they are worth every penny. Silk comforter is NOT cheap because it uses silk fibers as fillings. It costs and feels the same as a down comforter, just minus the odor. You can also purchase duvet covers that are made with silk fabrics too. But the silk cover is only an extra cost option. The important part of the silk comforter is its silk fillings. The cover can be made of cotton for a lower price. Silk comforter is warm, light, yet breathable. You won’t get sweaty or weighed down when you sleep in a silk comforter. People normally don’t wash the silk fillings, so it is very important to buy a duvet cover, you can wash the cover as much as you need. The comforter itself can be freshened up by hanging it under the sun for a few hours in the summer. Summit makes very good quality silk comforters. The silk fibers are laid down in layers and then quilted together, so you don’t need to worry that the fibers lump together over time. Summit sells comforters in two thickness options, the thin version is designed for the summer, the thick version is designed for the fall and spring. You can button the two comforters into an extra thick one for the winter. If the thick one is warm enough for you, one may be good enough for all 4 seasons. The store also sells other products like silk filled jackets, duvet covers designed with buttons and button holes to secure the comforter inside the cover. I found the comforter rather expensive at first, but then I waited until they had a big sale and then bought at a deep discount. If you have never used a silk comforter before, you should try one. You will like it.
