The food tastes like something you’d get at a county fair. They even sell single wrapped hot pockets for 3 dollar. They have a stupid flashing light that looks like there was an accident on the road when your driving near it. Plus they have a drive through in this two parking lot hut that they’ve decided to build in their front yard. A perfect example of how desperate people in this area are to try and make profit. They’re snowballs are ‘ight at best.

My new favorite… roast beef poboy. Yes, I eat the entire damn thing! Only three stars for the slow service… or no service at all at the«walk up» window. But it was worth it for this yummy, messy piece of heaven.

Every once in a while I end up on Da Bayou when I visit my girlfriend. Yeah I realize my lady friend lives a freaking gazillion miles away.(That was kind of intentional at 1st, who knew my ass could commit… sorry off track) When I visit her it seems like good food options are kind of hard to come by. Well now I know where to get an excellent po-boy! This place reminds me of the time I spent living in the Midwest where every town has a «dairy». A dairy is kind of like a Dairy Queen except they usually don’t have much of a name, serve soft serve ice cream, slushies, some pork tenderloin sandwiches, burgers, vanilla cokes, and the such. The Chill Out has the look of one of those dairies and also that of a snowball stand on steriods. The serve snowballs, ice cream and a ton of different variations of sundaes and such. They all have a pretty extensive menu of po-boys, soups, something called a roast beef sundae(I’m told it involved roast beef, gravy and mashed potatoes.) hot tamales, and other things as well. I was quite surprised at the flavor of the roast beef po-boy. It was pretty much all roast beef debris and a really good gravy. That is the way I like it. I would put this po-boy up against some of the best in Nola. Yeah it’s Parkway and Bear’s good! I also like the fact that they include pickles when you ask fot it dressed. Very few places do that these days. Great little gem on Da Bayou. It’s only take-out which seems to be it’s only downfall.
