Despite the reviews, we decided to check this place out, and wow, are we happy we did. The winery is so pretty and the wine is amazing!!! We have excellent customer service and we can’t wait to come back here next time we are in the Island.

Classy, elegant and top notch perfectly describe this winery. We always make it a point to stop here since the property both indoor and out is absolutely beautiful. The wine quality matches the grandeur of this place… although I’m a little bummed that our favorite bottle, Taste Red, has shot up drastically in price. So much so that we have been saving our bottle from years ago! My only major gripe is their recent change in policy in pricing for enjoying their wines on premise. Why does it cost $ 10-$ 20 above retail price of the bottle to drink it on premise? This is unfortunate since we love their wines and have recently been deterred from visiting because of rising costs. Le sigh.

Bedells has been my favorite vineyard in Long Island for a very long time. I was so happy to return for the first time this season only to find out that not only can you no longer bring in your own snacks but they have practically doubled the cost of their wine. The least expensive bottle of wine is $ 40 to drink on premises and $ 35 to take out which is ridiculous. I recommend this winery along with Corey Creek to everyone I know. Not only will I not be returning but I will not be recommending this winery to anyone I know any longer.

Came here on Memorial Day weekend, Bedell did not have live music and was very strict about bringing in outside food. I had brought a small bag of pretzels and was told I had to put them back in the car because they did not accept«outside food». The wine was very expensive as they charge you extra if you are staying on premise. Beautiful views tho.

We came with a large group for a birthday party. Everyone in the group was from the age of 28 – 35. We where treated like some sort of animals. First impressions are key and we where told they couldn’t be accommodated when the place was completely empty!!! We where asked to move so that staff can move freely when there was more than enough room to get around us(as if they were carrying a tray filled with drinks for 5). Then as we were leaving I got off the table with a glass a quarter empty which I planned of finishing to the walk to the door. I was grabbed violently by a staff member to tell me I couldn’t take the glass with me as if that was my intentions! Then when I asked for managements name it was refused to me. I am a business owner for an establishment in Manhattan and I would never dare treat customers the way I was treated today! ABSOLUTELYUNACCEPTABLE !!!

This is one of the«upscale» wineries I feel. The pricing is a little more expensive than usual, but very worth it. I wouldn’t stay inside because it gets crowded and it seems more like a bar. So take a glass of Malbec or their cabrenet franc and take a seat on their lawn and view the great vineyard of Bedell.

Lovely, lovely spot for enjoying rosé on a sunny day. Bedell has a large deck and a number of picnic tables overlooking the vineyards where guests can lay out a nice spread to go with some nice bottles of wine. We longingly watched the other guests enjoy their picnics as we did not have the foresight to pack our own but thankfully we had a chilled bottle of rosé to comfort us. I definitely recommend coming by with a picnic when visiting the North Fork.

My wife and I had a great time at Bedell’s. This winery definitely gives you a wow factor when you open the front doors. We were greeted by Jack who was very friendly, knowledgable and had many stories to share. It is so nice to have the same person for the entire tasting, which actually makes the experience very enjoyable. We will be visiting again…

When I go to wineries on the North Fork or Connecticut I enjoy a more authentic and laid back atmosphere. Bedell seems to belong in the Hamptons with very overpriced wine and a tiny tasting room. I will admit their wine is not bad but $ 20 for a flight is the most expensive I have seen and the staff seemed to know nothing about the wine. If I want to pay $ 12 for one small glass of wine I will go to the city.

Had a great afternoon at the winery! Had some great white wines while enjoying the beautiful weather. Lauren was very knowledgeable about their wine selection and suggested great white wines for us to test. Will definitely be back to sit on the gorgeous patio and enjoy the delicious wine.

From our experience, no winery here compares to the wines produced by the soils of Napa. However Bedell makes a few nice wines. The place is gorgeous though so it’s worth the trip.

I was introduced to Bedell by a friend that is a member of their wine club. It has become one of my favorite places to be during the summer and early fall months. The winery itself is beautiful — very picturesque. They have several different areas for folks to gather and drink, both indoors(small tasting area downstairs and a lounge area upstairs) and out(larger patio area w/bar tables + winery space w/picnic tables). The place is big enough so that even when the venue is crowded, you can still find space for your group without bumping into people. Though they have food available for purchase, you can bring in outside food as well(a rarity for wineries out here). I also love the people. Each time I come here, the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you are just there for the flights, buying a couple of bottles of wine, or a returning member, you are always treated the same — as a valued customer. The last time I was there the group I was with purchased several bottles and had lunch; however I have also done each of their wine flights. I am not a red wine drinker, so the person helping let me repeat the ones I loved the most instead. My favorites are the Viognier and the Sparkling Rose — I am always leaving with at least one bottle of each. If you can, see if you can arrange a tour of the venue, including where the barrels are kept. I was lucky enough to have one this past summer and learned so much about the history of the winery as well as how Long Island’s Wine Country came to exist.

Wine was so so and overpriced of course due to small production and cost of maintenance… The space is great, lots of greens definitely a nice switch from the city…

Visited this Saturday and we had a great time. We started our tasting and was advised that we could walk the grounds and pick back up when we were ready so we did just that. The cool part is that every time we got backer were greeted by a different server who somehow knew exactly where we were in our tasting and continued with out skipping a beat. We had great convo with most of our servers. One even offered to take a picture of us. Just a tremendously good time with friendly and helpful staff.

Recently stopped here as part of a self guided wine tasting excursion with my boyfriend. This seems to be one of the more popular destinations so it was a little crowded. The bar area inside was pretty nice and the 2 wine flights we had were decent; we didn’t feel compelled to purchase a bottle though. The grounds were ok, but there are other less crowded vineyards you can stroll around in and have some quiet. Not a bad spot to check out, but definitely not a «must» in my opinion.

Wine — 2 stars Atmosphere — 4 stars Bedell is one of the few vineyards that allow outside food, which my girlfriends and I highly valued. There are about 7 picnic tables under some shade and about 7 more out in the open, by the vines themselves. The land is vast and beautiful. There’s a convenient game of corn hole as well as a beautiful patch of lavender. The outdoor patio is also lovely, with high ceilings and hightop tables. The wine is definitely secondary to the space itself, as they were not very memorable or developed. Our favorites were the Cab Franc and Rose, though we barely finished splitting two tastings 5 ways.

My husband and I visited Bedell as part of a private winery tour through Hotel Indigo. The winey itself is beautiful and I really loved the view. We enjoyed all of the wines we tasted, especially the First Crushes(red & white).

We arrived at approximately noon, and entered the beautiful vineyard. The experience was unforgettable, the details are below. The space is modern, sleek, and warm. I love how the wine tasting area has three different levels. The top level oversees the cellar and estate. The second level has a cozy fireplace and plush seats. The ground level has a lounge feel to it. We walked around the vineyard, and we ate in their picnic area. #Beautiful Our server was Chris, and he was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about winemaking and the history of Bedell. He kept us engaged the entire time, and was able to answer all of our questions. After our time there, he even pointed us to other places we might enjoy based on our wine preferences. #GuestServiceDoneRight We ordered the Estate($ 15) and Premium Flights($ 20). Taste Red and Musee were my two favorites. I prefer red wines, in general, but my girlfriend truly enjoyed all of their whites. We shared our flights, so we were able to taste everything they offered. I recommend you try both flights, so you can taste all they have to offer as well. We’ll definitely be back this summer. We hope we have Chris help us when we go back because he is awesome.

Imagine row upon row of grapes amid a lush, bucolic setting. This has got to be one of the best«backyards» I’ve even seen. There’s also a lovely back porch. Inside is cozy and feels like a chic, modern barn that still fits with the vineyard. There’s a somewhat small bar for tastings. It can get cramped. Two tastings of five wines each were offered: estate flight for $ 15 and premium flight for $ 20. Only the taste rosé was duplicated between the tastings. And with good reason: It’s absolutely delightful. Other than that, I leave the judgements to your palate. Wine is a personal thing. We rounded it out with the goat cheese trio, which didn’t taste too«goaty.» I know, I’m weird. I’m also anti-lamb. An employee assured me the cheese was fresh and that we could actually find the goat literally up the road. Farm to table! Go early and make a day trip of it. It looks like a lovely setting for all types of events, too. I deducted a star because the man(security?) standing in the driveway refused to take a picture of our birthday group when his only job appeared to be telling people to keep driving a few feet up to the front of the building, which was already in clear sight. How off-putting. I also don’t recall being told there were other foods/snacks beyond the cheese. Maybe they assume everyone only comes for the wine.
