Third time to this winery and it’s always a good time. The merlo reserve is a very good bottle of wine. You can bring your own food. They have a very good deal on Groupon. Will be back.

I got a groupon for 6 bottles of wine for my birthday. The place was charming, simple and laid back, far from the stuffiness I’ve encountered at other vineyards. Since I had never been I decided to try as many varieties as I could. To my surprise my favorite was the Rose, and I usually am not a big fan of it! My second favorite the Chianti. I was very happy with the selections. Good wine!

I don’t know why this vineyard is getting bad reviews I really enjoyed coming here. We had a groupon and drove out here today for a wine tasting for two and cheese platter. The wines were delicious. I bought a bottle of their dry Riesling and my boyfriend loved their chianti. The lady was very sweet also. We took our wine outside and sat under the grape vines. It’s a Wednesday so there were only a few people there and we loved it. It was nice and quiet and they have a nice little pond and their vineyards are huge also. I would fix up the inside a little bit but other than that I like it here and would come back because I really really enjoyed their wines!!! We have gone to so many other vineyards and this is my favorite now!

It’s pretty no frills here, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There’s a small field with plenty of picnic tables and enough space where you’re not on top of other groups. The highlight of the space might be the pond, which contains alligator sized koi fish(you can buy food for them for $ 1) and the cutest little turtles, who get beat up by said koi fish. As you can imagine, this is a lot of fun after a few(bottles) glasses of wine. Speaking of, the wine here isn’t bad. It isn’t great either, but that’s not what you’re here for and that’s why most bottles are under $ 15. Grab a bunch of friends, a few plastic cups and enjoy a nice day on the east end here! Bonus: they accept limos /buses. Call ahead for reservations.

I see the other negative reviews here — BELIEVETHEM. Pugliese MUST pay for people to leave good reviews or they create false accounts and leave 4 – 5 stars themselves. There is no way in hell people actually like their terrible wine and want to endure their terrible service. Out of all the vineyards on the North Fork, Pugliese gives the most attitude. Like it’s in their job description. Oh wait, it’s a family thing. Then it must be in their blood to be outright condescending to the people who walk into their establishment. Sure, their building and lawns are nice. But if you’re only interested in the scenery, then get your a** to a park because there isn’t much else positive here. Maybe they need to be reminded that they’re the ones in the service industry and that they shouldn’t take their frustrations with their lives out on the people who actually want to give them money. Visit Lenz, Lieb, Jamesport, Kontokosta, Macari, Palmer… any of the other amazing vineyards on the North Fork for a much more enjoyable and memorable experience.

This place had great charm and an inviting area outside. They had a sparkling red Merlot that was a great find!!!

If you show so much disdain for customers and dealing with people in general, why run such a customer focused business? This vineyard needs to realize that there are still customers out there who desire to taste wine, enjoy wine, and take in the scenery, while also chatting with fellow locals and the great people visiting our wonderful communities. We are all not looking to be pumped full of alcohol like many of these limo and wine tours that frequent the north fork. Regardless, NO customer deserves an eye roll or to be talked down to condescendingly when we willingly want to give you, Pugliese Vineyard, OUR money.

Amazing wine! White Chardonnay Reserve 2013 is just a luxury on the palate. We are overjoyed that we can get locally grown delicious vintage wine. Thank you Pugliese!

I enjoy my wines from Pugliese vineyards. I just picked up my 6 bottle special Groupon! Going to enjoy them! Very nice staff!

Decent place but we did the $ 20 for 5 which is definitely overpriced for a tasting. That’s probably twice as Michal it should have been. The wine was decent as a whole but nothing to write home about. on the long road of wineries if you we doing tastings you could skip this place.

My best friend had a deal for 4 people to have wine tasting and included the cheese platter. The place is a little out of the way but it was worth it. It is on a nice piece of property with a nice little pond full of fish and turtles. My girlfriends and I had a great time and stayed by the pond most of the time. The vineyard got pretty busy at one point but there was enough room for everyone. We brought a cooler full of picnic essentials and spent the day at a picnic table with music and wine and yummy snacks.

Had the best time here! Tried so many awesome wines here, each one better than the next! There was a very large variety, including some sparkling wines. All were very delicious and were served in a tent out on the lawn. Very sweet, accommodating staff. There are several tables here, scattered on a large green lawn which overlooks a beautiful fountain. Our group sat under a wooden awning which had vines growing all over it, just darling. The ambiance reminded me of the Hamptons, but nowhere near as pretentious clientele. There were live singers and a guitarist which were incredible and put off an awesome vibe. In good spirits, the singers allowed two of our friends to get on the microphone and give a toast to our special day. This place isn’t too rowdy and slop-fest-ish, but isn’t stiff or boring. It is somewhere perfectly in the middle, and for this and the delicious wine, I give 5 stars. Great for medium-large groups.

This is not my favorite winery, but it is by no means a bad one nor does it deserve some of the negative reviews that it has received. They have a very large selection of wines from dry reds all the way to very sweet whites. The staff have always been very friendly and the winery itself is very pretty. A huge plus to this winery is that the prices are very reasonable, some of the other local wineries are charging upwards of $ 50 per bottle. That is simply not the case here. The biggest downfall here to me is the fact that during peak season they do the tastings outside and use plastic cups as opposed to real wine glasses. I can understand why they do this however, given the crowds during that time of year.

There are some really nice and friendly people who work here. That’s the only positive I can offer. The wine is pretty bad. It tastes very amateurish. I wasn’t able to finish anything they poured. I’ve been to over 30 vineyards on the forth fork. In terms of the wine, it ranks in the bottom 10% in my opinion. In terms of the people, it ranks in the top 10%.

Although this is a little off the road and may be hard to find if you haven’t been here before, it is worth a visit. This is the perfect winery for a beautiful summer day where you can sit outside under the grape vines, listen to live music, sip cold wine by the pond, and most importantly… picnic! There are usually Groupons or Amazon Local deals which are good for tasting for 2. Each tasting consists of 4 different wines of your choice, and the best is that you don’t have to have the same wine as your groupon partner. I’ve been here a handful of times and the scenery has moved it up the ranks in my books. If you haven’t been here, it’s worth a try. Don’t forget your Groupon!

I work at pugliese on the weekends and considering I’m mixed race and a family friend I don’t think they are racist at all! I’m sad the reviewer Rochielle had a bad experience, but I can assure her it wasn’t based on color of skin. They may have been understaffed that day, we get very busy at times. I hope she will try our vineyard again! As a customer and employee I recommend all the wines with exception to the chianti(it’s drinkable now but young, buy some to drink and some to let it age imho). I’m also not a fan of the sparkling Merlot unless it’s hot out.

Had our picnic here. It was nice. Peter dealt with our inexperience with wine and he was nice. Eating by the pond was nice. I’m glad we got a good day. The wine was way better than at Lenz.

I definitely disagree with most of the reviewers here, which is unusual for me, but my husband and I absolutely loved Pugliese Vineyards. Set a bit aside from the main road of North Fork where the rest of the wineries live, Pugliese has what seems like endless acres of beautiful grape vines(and it was peak harvest season, so we saw lots of grapes!) and nestled right in the middle is a secluded tasting area inside a tent with a fountain on the side — very quaint and gorgeous scenery for a wine tasting. When we arrived, we went straight to the tent(apparently we were supposed to go buy tickets inside first) but the woman helped us right there and let us pay for our tastings outside. She was super nice and accommodating — granted, we were one of two parties there when we first arrived, but as our time progressed, another large party came as well. Despite being a bit understaffed(There were only two women there to do all the pouring), we got to have really great conversations and learn quite a bit about the wines, the vineyard, its history, etc. The women even shared some funny stories with us. We really had a great time! As for the wines, there were certainly some I would take and some I would leave, as with most vineyards I’ve visited. My favorites were the Sparkling wines. Both the Sparkling Rose(I can’t remember the exact name — dolce something? It surprisingly was not overly sweet but rather was nicely balanced, despite the name!) and the Blanc de Blanc champagne were my favorites. The Cab Franc and the unoaked chardonnay were also good. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother with the Sangiovese. It may be the only one produced on the island but there must be a reason for that :) Another benefit was the price… compared with other vineyards we stopped by in the area, $ 8 for a tasting of four wines was a good value. And the pours were gracious! All in all, great experience and I’d highly recommend stopping by this vineyard if you’re wine tasting in the North Fork of LI!

The music and setting were okay. We tried something different and it was a disaster. The sparkling merlot was grape juice gone bad. Two of our party could not drink it. It was too expensive to leave so my buddy and I choked it down. Service was also not great. Maybe we should have stuck with a traditional sparkling wine. I don’t know but my first time there will most likely be my last.

Good outdoor vineyard. Offers a nice scenic view with a large coy fish pond, turtles and frogs. Great place to enjoy a packed lunch and some wine. Casual, friendly and reasonably priced.
