Probably one of my favorite restaurants~ I come here very frequently and never have they failed to serve me a delicious meal along with excellent customer service! Right when you walk in you are pretty much immediately seated! The tables are kinda cramped only because the food is served in a pretty big portion with pretty big plates! I usually always get the chicken katsu but the hamburger curry is great as well!

Food was excellent but the waitress was annoying. My wife went to use the bathroom and the menu was extensive, and she came over like 3 – 4 times before we were ready to order. She even gave a little bit of a glare of annoyance, which was not cool.

Staff and food was great! i didn’t catch her name, but she was an older waitress, and she was very fun to have as our server. we ordered the curry pan, one spicy and one regular, and she played along with us when we told her we didn’t want to know which one was spicy. she stood off to the side and watched us unravel the mystery and was extremely playful and joyful. the food was very filling and this place always fulfills my curry craving. :) will be coming back soon when the craving comes back!

My first time at curry house and the food was exactly how I expected it to be. The food there is fairly simple. I ordered the chicken katsu curry dish and it was delicious. No complaints about the service.

I’ve been here as a kid, and I have been here as an adult. Usually I don’t eat out two times a day but today I did. The ambience is very quiet, the servers are very nice, and courteous as you should expect, the only thing that I always dislike about this place is that it closes in the middle of the day. You should check the hours before you come because they only open lunch, then reopen at dinner. The menu is fairly simple items ranging from $ 10 – 20, and mainly curry dishes with meat, but there are other things. I ordered a Tonkatsu with Cheese on top and curry, and then I had gotten a diet coke. The only reason I put 4 instead of 5 is because the soup was a bit bland, I ordered the miso as my side, and it was not very good. The Meat was excellently cooked to perfection, the crispiness was good on the katsu, the rice was not over the top, and the curry was consistent as usual.

Service overall is ok, straight to the point. This is place seems busy whenever I come here. We were seated right away upon arrival. Our orders were taken and food came out quickly. Portion size is decent but the taste is too salty for me. We ordered 2 keema curry(pork maybe?) and 1 ground chicken/tofu dishes. Our meal came with choice of salad/corn soup/or miso soup. Our server was nice which made it worth coming here. Price is around $ 13 – 15 per plate.

Their curry dishes are amazing. I’ve been there many times, maybe at least once a week. Don’t miss out the corn potage. Trust me you’re gonna regret it for not trying that soup.

If you’re looking for a delicious and cheap meal, the combo here is great! I got the veggie extra hit curry combo with croquette instead of wiener and added a boiled egg. It was really yummy and filling. The total came to about 10 $ and the combo comes with a salad, rice, and cream corn soup as well. I wasn’t expecting the curry to actually be spicy but it was a decent level of spice so I was pleasantly shocked. The service was fast and efficient although right when we were seated the server asked if we were ready to order. We said no so she came back after one minute. Please give customers time to look at the menu. Other than that, I can’t wait to go back and maybe try their tofu cheesecake dessert !!

Me and my friends were craving for some Curry and as we arrived to the place. The front didn’t look to shabby at all. We were greeted to our seats and all. I ordered the Tofu Katsu and while my friend order the Chicken Katsu. Our meal included A salad which I thought was tasted really odd. I ignored it and put it off to the side because all I’m here is really for curry. The food took about 10 minute to be prepared which was not really long at all! First bite I took was pretty savory and was actually pretty delicious. I would deferentially recommend trying it at least once! Food– It was actually pretty delicious and savory, but I feel that It should be at least cheaper a bit 11.99 for curry is a little too much Inside — It was pretty clean, the lighting is somewhat alright, overall clean Wait — Around the Afternoon not really crowded at all, but it when it hits dinner time, it starts to crowd up

To give you guys a better understanding on why I gave this place 3 stars is because of the customer service. It was amazing. The food however got me to jack it down 2 stars. I spent $ 70 here for food that was terrible. But the employees here are so nice, I didn’t want to make their day rough and make a complaint. The old Japanese lady is so kind. She was being nice to my daughter and she was all smiles. So was every other employee here. I ordered the beef curry and the beef had a odd taste to it. Not only the beef but the curry itself doesn’t taste right to me… and I believe it was $ 16 a plate. No one else at my table enjoyed their food either. But the employees made the experience… a little better. I only enjoyed my French fries and relied on that to fill me up. I don’t think I’m coming back here again. So here’s a review for the owner or chef to read so they can make their foods better… the soups however are pretty good. Especially their corn soup.

Although this curry is very good, they’ve had a price increase with their new menu! I normally get the pork Katsu curry-hot with corn soup pottage.

There was a phase in my life where I didn’t care for Japanese curry… I think I might have been mad then! Love Curry House, namely for the simplicity of what you get. My last visit, I had the menchi cutlet curry — it is a fried piece of ground beef patty on top of a bed of rice… and I can’t forget to tell you that the rice is covered in a thin slice of egg(think omelette). I got it hot(in terms of spiciness) and it lives up to my standard of hot… I still added a small drop or two of the spicy hot oil. And you have to have the pickled ginger to help cut on the richness of the curry and the oily-ness of the cutlet. The combo comes with salad or corn pottage(no idea what pottage means) but think of it as a chowder. Got the soup but it was a slight letdown cause it was lukewarm. The ice tea wasn’t my cup of tea that day as well — too much citrus taste for my liking. Either case, solid meal every time I have been here.

$ 10 for a plate of curry rice? Okay, if it’s a pretty decent size portion, then I’d let that slide, but I saw on the menu that it comes with a side salad, so I will let it slide. Your typical curry plates let you pick chicken, beef or pork, and you also have a scale of how hot you want your curry sauce, but be warned: If you want the«extra hot» or the«super hot»(the maximum of spiciness), it’s an extra 25 cents for your order, which I didn’t have a problem with. The«super hot» curry I assumed is like all of the other curries, except it had a couple of hot chilis added to the sauce. Then I thought to myself, «That was what I paid the extra 25 cents for? Okay, I’ll take it.» And boy, was it HOT! If you’re into hot and spicy Japanese curry, I’d recommend this place — even for around $ 10 a pop(again, it comes with a side salad, so it’s actually not that bad of a deal). If don’t want to drive all the way up to Little Tokyo in LA for curry, then this head to the Curry House. They have one in Cypress, another in Irvine as well as a few in the LA area. :)

Curry house never lets me down! This location has to be my favorite compared to the Irvine one. It’s down the street from me and the service isn’t depressing(if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it). I’ve always just ordered the hamburger curry dinner, but this time I was feeling adventurous. I added an egg… LOL.(5⁄5) The appetizer salad is delicious too! Their dressing is amazing! Not sure if they make it in-house or if they just purchase it wholesale — whatever it is, I love it.(5⁄5)

Honestly. This place is hands down the best Japanese curry in all of LA. So good, savory and succulent Japanese curry. The dish to order here is the Deluxe Katsu Curry, Chicken Breast, Egg Well Done, Super Hot spiciness, Large Portion, with the Salad on the side. I could probably eat this everyday. If only this place wasn’t so far out! This location has awesome Japanese servers. One lady takes your order saying«Hie» after your every order entry. So awesome! The hot green tea hits the spot. But really some milk tea is better in actuality. But hot tea will have to do. The cleanliness and the staff are more than acceptable. Definitely recommend this restaurant who wants to try something new or has some sort of fascination with the Japanese culture. Oh and, make sure to order a potato croquette. It goes really well with any extra curry you have!

This place seems to have frozen in time. I haven’t visited this location in a few years and only ate here sporadically. Yet even in my most recent visit it feels like nothing’s changed. Deco: 3 stars This place isn’t large. It probably seats about 50 people at most but with the use of mirrors and large open windows it seems much bigger. The aisles are just large enough for the servers to walk around freely and though not a giant dining room it does feel comfortable. Service: 4 stars The Japanese have a reputation for being polite, formal, and serviceable when it comes to customer service and this place is no exception. The servers are to the point but not rude, quick to respond when called, and polite with every request. Food: 3 stars Though curry is a staple food item in Japan, it is also no where near the flavors of curry found in places like Sri Lanka, India, or Thailand. Japanese curry is mild, even when ordered spicy, and has a creamy flavor to it. There’s nothing wrong with this but you won’t find any bursts of flavor from the curry. Instead, it’s the different toppings that accentuate the flavors to your entrees: different katsus, hamburger, fried eggs. It’s all these layers that help make the entrée extra tasty. However, even with the addition of these items the meal will be adequate to satiate hunger but won’t be a meal you’ll remember. Conclusion This place hasn’t changed much since high school. Curry is good and the service is fine. The place is comfortable and the prices are decent. Come by if you’re craving something comfortable and essentially Japanese if you’re in Cypress.

Japanese curry is a variation of Indian curry. It’s much sweeter and has less spice than its Indian mother. The Japanese Curry House chain does Japanese style curry right. I’ve been to many of the Southern Cali branches and the meals have always been consistently good. First their rice is always spot on. Must be the type of rice as well as their cooking method but it’s always perfect: firm and never overdone, mushy, or dry. Next, their curry gravy is nicely balanced — you can order it to your spice level. I normally get medium spicy and if it needs to be kicked up, I add some chili oil available at your table. The curry sets come with a generous portion of rice, small side salad with Asian dressing, and your choice of curry(chicken, beef, chicken katsu — deep fried chicken cutlet, menchi — breaded beef patty, tofu patty, or hamburger patty). They also offer deluxe curries or curry sets which come with smaller curry and salad portions but with the addition of a cup of corn soup. I generally stick with the chicken or beef curry. On this visit I opted for the beef curry since the menu advertised a new premium beef. The beef was really tasty — chunks of tender, fall-apart beef short ribs paired well with the medium spicy curry sauce. I added a touch of chili oil and a good helping of their pickled white onions(you have to request this… I highly recommend adding these as they add a nice flavor contrast to the dish) and my meal was perfect. If you join their email mailing list, you’ll periodically get discount offers. Tonight we were able to use a 20% off main dish coupon, huzzah! CH is a family favorite and we will be back again soon the next time our Japanese curry craving hits.

Curry House have restaurant locations throughout California, with 3 locations in Orange County: Irvine, Santa Ana, and this one in Cypress, where there are a lot of Japanese business and manufacturers nearby. It is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in Japanese curry and spaghetti. So what’s different about Japanese curry? Well, Japanese curry has all the spices like Indian curry, but it’s more gravy-like, and slightly sweeter. It reminds me of Mexican molé. Ingredients(as posted on the web site): Water, Onions, Apple Paste, Carrots, Enriched Flour(Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folid Acid), Palm Oil, Less than 2% of: Canola Oil, Cashew Butter, Sugar, Salt, Spices, Turmeric, Orange Peel, Licorice Root, Ajowan Caraway, Garlic, Yeast Extract, Caramel Color, Artificial Flavors, Citric Acid. NOMSGADDED. I signed up for their email club and was sent a 20% off promotion, so we went on a Wednesday night, where Karen had the hamburger curry with white rice, while I had the Katsu chicken curry with the brown rice. Katsu chicken is a chicken filet that’s coated with panko breading, then deep fried to a golden crisp. If I had to recommend a first timer dish, I would say this is my pick. The chicken is moist and crispy, but not overly fried. They add the filet on top of a bed of rice, and to the side of the rice and katsu is the small lake of curry, where you control how much or little you wish to add to your food. The mild curry is not spicy at all. You get the essence of curry without the heat. Entrees are served with a house salad, served with a nice Japanese ginger dressing. The discount covers just the entrees, but the amount discounted covered my drink and the $ 1 brown rice up-charge, plus a little more. Curry House is a fast food style place, but with waiter service. It’s not going to be «the best» curry you’ll ever have, but its good comfort food, at a fair price.

Service was really fast & the server was very sweet 5 star breakdown: 1. Corn Porridge Soup — not too sweet more on the savory side(I was feeling sick to my stomach and this helped soothe my acidic stomach) 2. Free refills on soda 3. keema Curry– probably the best item on the menu in my opinion. most flavorful. Rice on the bottom with curry composed of ground beef, mushrooms, carrots, onions and red chillies *** recommend soft boiled egg on top for DATEGG porn! (Oozzz and ahhhssss as the yolk just bursts over your curry dish) Come for a quick but filling meal on any given day!

They tried to put too many tables in here, aisles are narrow, tables are ridiculously small especially with all the menu stand and the condiment sets. I got here around 6:30 which was the peak dinner time, there’s no line, plenty of empty seats. But I still got a tiny table because we were just two, the table would only be perfect for hobbits. So I ordered a popcorn shrimp and a curry pan to start with. Miso soup side for my entrée was also served with my appetizers. The curry pan needed to be drained better but it’s got a great flavor(sweet and savory combination) and crispy texture. I wish there’s more curry filling inside. Miso soup was horrible. It was way way way watered down, I should have gotten the salad. Keema curry comes in medium spiciness only, but you can have garlic spinach rice. The rice is not garlicky but there’s enough spinach underneath it. Ground beef chili flavored reminds of Indian curry style. It is full of complex flavor. Sesame chicken curry mild is much more sweet and creamy curry. Chicken was freshly cooked, crispy and piping hot. The sweet curry offered some kind of herb fragrance which was very pleasant, I wonder what it was. I wish they serve less rice and more chicken pieces tho. While I was eating my food, I couldn’t stop watching a lady next to my table who constantly walked to her family in another table, because the aisle is too narrow, I had watch if she would hit my elbow and cause me spill my food. I don’t blame her, she was taking care of her parents or something at another table… also she was holding a baby and feeding her because the employee told her, «the aisles are too narrow, we can’t put a high chair here.» Poor mom. I rushed and finished my meal so they can have more space. As I walk out, a whole half side of the restaurant was empty, I don’t know why the employees offer the bigger tables for the big family with the suffering mother. Food is great, each curry brought distinctive flavors, the restroom is neat, but I don’t like its ambience that make me feel not enjoying my food, rushing my food instead.
