Cypress Community Festival

The Cypress Community Festival is the largest one day event in Orange County! Lots of things to do and see; car show, chili and salsa contest, bouncy houses, rides, shopping, shave ice, treats and live bands… there’s even a 5k/​10k and a pancake breakfast!
Each section is nicely separated so that you aren’t confused and you don’t miss a thing! I’ve found some great treasures while shopping among the wide variety of vendors selling their products and I’ve even participated, for a couple of years, as judge in the chili/​salsa contest! Ok, so anyone can participate, you just pay a small fee to receive your voting package then taste away! Some are hot, some are not, some are sweet, some are neat, some are sticky and some are icky! (if I can just plug my favorite salsa… I’ve voted both years in a row for Krazy Kelly’s Kaliente Salsa, that girl has got the right stuff!)
Whoever does the selection of live music just nails it too, always great entertainment! There are two stages, dance floor, shady seating… very comfortable and well planned out. I grab a beer and hang out there in between tasting, such an awesome day!
If you haven’t checked out this event, I highly recommend that you mark your calendars! It’s only there for one day a year, so you need to get yourself there!
