This is my go to place when I order pizza to go. Great pizza!

This is the second time we’ve tried Ernies and it was excellent both times! We’ve tried a number of things on the menu you can’t go wrong: Pizza, Wings, stromboli, lasagna… everything’s sooo good!

Alright man I had ENOUGH of this place. I’ve been here 4 times since my last visit and their pizza is still the SAME. Do they know that I can’t update my review if they don’t CHANGE!!! Ernie’s Best Pizza has continuously surprised me. I can’t tell you if its as good as NY pizza or Chicago one but between the thin crust, right amount of grease, and the generous portions of toppings, I can’t say enough good things about this pizza. I also enjoy MOD pizza but when you want a real pizza, MOD just doesn’t cut it. On top of all this, the owner has provided quality service every single time. If there is one complaint, I do feel like the crust wasn’t as crisp as the first time but nothing to take a star off for. I think places like are reflective of their owners. This pizza is genuine, well priced, and made to order. I sincerely feel that the owner has taken the time to make my pizza and I will continue to support this business as long as the quality and service continues. To those who gave those negative reviews to this place, you have every right to do so. I also encourage you to try this place again and perhaps change your perspective and judge it objectively. Without a doubt service can make and break a place but compare it to your past experiences before you put a single star up.

I only gave them three stars because they messed up our order and my husband was not as big of a fan as I was. I thought the pizza was great. Loved the sauce and crust. My husband thought it was ok and I don’t think that it helped that his toppings were not correct. For $ 1.50/ topping I think it should be correct, the price is a little steep. The wings were great, but again they messed this up as well. We ordered mild and bbq wings with blue cheese. We received mild and hot with ranch. Blue cheese is a staple to pizza and wings in upstate NY. The stuffed shells were awesome! We ordered the cannolis, but I have never tasted anything like the filling that waere used for these. It was not appetizing. They were thrown away and we will not be ordering them again. I am will to give them another shot. Our order was 5÷15÷16 around 4:30−5pm. We may be trying them again tonight.

Ernie’s has become our pizza place. Hubby loves the Buffalo pizza, and I hop around to veggie or a pasta dish(add meatballs!) The wings are really good, as well. Crispy & coated with sauce but not soggy or dry. Everything is fresh and hot when it arrives, quick delivery. Have yet to have an incorrect order. Toppings aren’t skimpy, either. Happy to support this neighbor! It’s well deserved.

– update: I’ve added a star due to a very prompt response from Ernie’s. I am hopeful that our experience and issues will be addressed. I will update this review again as things progress. Thanks Ernie’s! — original review— I’ve never given a bad review before but I cannot let the experience we had at Ernie’s go unchecked. I’ll try to start with the positives — good location, decent interior for a quick pickup, and their pitch on how they bake their pizzas is interesting. That’s all the good I got. Let’s continue with the service… the young man working the counter was either stoned, clueless, or both. He did not know the(small) menu and couldn’t answer simple questions of what toppings are available for subs. We asked if we could add a few things to our subs and his repeated answer was«I dunno, I guess, maybe… But if not, don’t blame me» Ernie — you need to fire this kid. When the kid brought us our subs he informed us that«we made the additions to the subs this time just to be nice but we don’t allow changes, so we can’t do that again»… EXCUSEME??? We asked him three times when we ordered! Next the subs. Soggy, greasy, logs doused with too much dressing wrapped in foil. Complete waste of nearly 40.00 for dinner. My hope is that Ernie sees this review and makes some changes.

Let me start by saying it does not take a great deal to satisfy me. I ordered a pizza which was the meat lovers. The service was good though it was carry out. It was the worst pizza I have ever ate. There was too much sauce, the bread was soggy, and I live within 2 miles of the location. After eating one slice of the pizza I threw it away. Two weeks later I went in and I spoke to the owner he was shocked that I told him I was very dissatisfied with the pizza. But even after that he gave no apology and was basically rude. I would never step foot in his establishment again nor would I suggest anyone. I have had pizza from all over this country and he it was the absolute worst. And his attitude about it was even as bad. NEVERAGAIN

Honestly, i was highly disappointed with Ernie’s. The pizza had no flavor beyond the basic mediocre quality ingredients. It quite literally tasted like: red sauce, cheese, bread and pepperoni all put together. I know what you are thinking, «oh, that is all a pizza is. Stop being hyper-critical.» That’s a fair point, but with so many other great pizza options in the area that try much harder to add flavor depth and use fresher ingredients, there is really no reason to eat here. Tbh a little garlic or basil along with quicker service would go a long way for these guys, especially with Mod pizza having opened nearby. I truly wish them the best, but until they step up their flavor game i just can’t see us eating here again.

I only stopped here because MOD pizza down the street was packed. I also saw that you could get pizza by the slice. I ordered a meat lover’s slice, which was over $ 7.00! I guess the $ 2.50 slice is only for cheese. Anyway got my pizza to go and headed to the car to eat on the run. When I opened the box I was shocked. I’ve had NY pizza in NY and this ain’t even close. I don’t know who the heck is giving this place rave reviews but as I’ve learned before, some people are easily impressed. This is some of the lamest pizza I’ve ever had. Considering it was a meat lover’s I have to say it had no flavor. The meat looked like it came out of a can… all of it. Tasted like nothing. I came, I saw… won’t be coming back for this overpriced pizza. Won’t complain about the line at MOD anymore!

I ordered a plain cheese, the true measure of a solid NY pizza joint is their cheese pie. The mozzarella was on point, the cheese had the right pull and taste to it. I was not a fan of the sauce, but I didn’t hate it either. I was definitely not into the pepperoni, it was sub-par for me. The crust was the right thickness and looks hand tossed which I appreciate. I would have preferred a little more bake on that thin of a crust. Cannoli had all the right flavors, the filling was very grainy though like the mascarpone didn’t fold smoothly. That could have been intentional not sure. Cheesecake was again good in flavor however it was still frozen solid. Good customer service, order was delivered promptly and professionally. I gave a star for the excellent cheese and tasty cannoli and a star for the customer service.

The pizza is delicious. We had the meat lovers pizza and the white chicken pizza. The kids demolished it. Customer service was good as well. We will definitely come back.

Yummmmmmy! The food is awesome! And the service is very good too. The young man in the front was very knowledgeable and kept checking on us the entire time we were there. I’m very pleased with this place and we will definitely be back.

I have to say based on the wonderful reviews I needed to try this place. Came here and decided to eat in. The guy who was working the cash register had no clue what any of the products were. We were curious what a «Stromboli» was and he didn’t have any idea. He had to go to the kitchen twice to get a description from the cook. Ordered some wings as well and a supreme pizza. So we ordered a Stromboli and got a calzone. The wings were flubbery despite being fried. My pizza was lacking toppings, except cheese. Was absolutely obliterated with cheese. The star of the dinner? The pre packaged ranch sauce. Was delicious. Honestly it was all just bland. The pizza sauce was bland. The toppings were meh. Just bland bland bland. This food is way beyond subpar, not sure how/why the reviews are so great. Honestly won’t be back.

This was a pleasant surprise. A very thin crisp crust with a great sauce=a great pie. I stopped in for a slice of pepperoni for lunch and I’m glad I did. Best pizza I’ve found in Houston in my 2 years here.

This place is a great hole-in-the wall pizza shop! It was completely empty when we went(4pm on a Thursday) but I’m hoping this isn’t indicative of what business is usually like. I really want this place to do well! Okay about the food: The pizza was made fresh, from scratch just for us which I so appreciate. The toppings were cooked under the cheese which was a nice touch. The only kindof meh thing was that I don’t think it was fresh spinach(I think it was frozen). It didn’t taste bad at all! It was just a little clumpy like frozen spinach tends to be. While it wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, it was still tasty pizza(especially for the price). One awkward thing about the whole experience was that there was no music playing in the restaurant. Since we were the only people there our conversation carried a lot. However the owner overheard us talking about the lack of music and quickly turned some on. Overall a great pizza shop to stop by at if you’re in the area and want a whole pie or just a slice. Support local businesses!

Great place! We had the pizza, the lasagna, and the chicken Parmesan which were all great! The service was good, very friendly and very prompt. We came here on word-of-mouth and were not disappointed. The owner is very nice and he delivers his own stuff too. Give them a try, we left happy plates behind.

Alright, alright, so a little about me, first. I make a lot of trips to Dallas to see a certain someone I know, and I pass this place every time. Sometimes when I see a restaurant, I get this feeling. A feeling that I can walk right in there, ask for something delicious, and get that and so much more. As I was busy regretting last night’s meal and wishing I went somewhere else, I decided to Unilocal this place. The previous reviewer’s customer service experience seemed impeccable. That, paired with that I have been vibing this place every time I drive by was a sign that today was the day. And the fates aligned. Plans were canceled to drive to San Marcos by unforseeable events. Invitations to dinner and a movie were passed down. And myself, ravenous, made the journey to Ernie’s Best. And oh boy, what a treat. The place is clean, and the people are so friendly. On the way over, I was pondering whether I should ask if they can make a buffalo pizza or if I should get my standby pie of extra sauce and pepperoni. These friendly folks assured me that the buffalo is more than worth my time; however, the older gentleman said there is no better way to gauge a place than by trying their basics. A man after my own heart. So I did. Extra sauce, extra pepperoni coming my way. Exactly 14 minutes later, I got it. After a slurry of wishes to have a good night, I loaded up into the car and peered into the box. First thought: «I asked for ONE topping! How could they forget that?!» Upon further exploration, I realized that the toppings are stowed away under the cheese. «Alright,» I said, «I can feel this covert ops pie.» And I did. There may or may not have been some tender whispers of sweet nothings into the cardboard box next to me during the drive home. Guys. This pizza is GOOD. The crust is crisp and perfect. The sauce is obviously fresh and quality. The pepperoni is great! The cheese, bountiful. Lately, pizza has really been disappointing me, and this experience really put them back on the map for me. This pizza was just perfect. My only criticism is that they went heavy on the cheese for my liking. I will ask them to hold back next time. A couple things I would like to mention is that the paper that lines the pizza box is from another pizza establishment called Blaze Pizza; an up-and-coming-in-hot franchise. I found that odd. This place is worth having their own grease-sopping stationery. But, I understand they’re a little new and that this and the brandless pizza box are just temporary. I am excited to see this brand develop. The other thing is that I think the old-fashioned filament bulbs in the dining area are super cool! I think they really tie the place together. Another thing about me is that I will be moving away to Dallas in two weeks. Unfortunately this summer love will be as heavy yet fleeting as Sandy and Danny’s. You’re the pie that I want, Ernie’s Best. The only question is… would it be wrong to go back tomorrow and try the buffalo?
