We’ll definitely be returning! Not too often because I do have a wedding to lose weight for but will definitely use this as a splurge day every now and then :) Service –5 stars! Lily was our main server and she was so sweet and attentive! We had a party of 18 and she was amazing! Especially for our hungry group! I love how the food is all you can eat but made fresh not buffet style! This concept is pretty awesome! For $ 25 not a bad deal! Plus I had a 15% offer from checking in! Thank you Lily for being such a great hostess, you made my niece’s bday special :) she even took time to take group pics of us :) Food– 4 stars– for all you can eat place you get your money’s worth and the food is decent! I mean the sushi isn’t like 5 star gourmet or anything but it’s decent! From appetizers– Miso soup, seaweed salad, octopus salad, Gyoza(fried dumplings), fried tempura– shrimp, vegetable, taro, and sweet potato, fried chicken wings, and edamame we tried it all! And all of it was good except wasn’t a big fan of the taro one. Just had to try it :) we were extremely hungry hahaha don’t judge! For entrees you have a wide variety of sashimi, sushi cooked and raw, udon and rice plates, seafood and chicken, various ramen soups too. I mainly ate the sushi my favorites were the Lucy 7, dragon roll, unagi roll, and the tempura roll. The escolar was good too and fresh! Dessert– I had the green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream– green tea one nasty! Red bean decent! They also have strawberry and vanilla! Sorry wish I got more pics! I got too hungry to take pics of everything I ate plus my battery was low lol! Foodie struggles

Average sushi but I’m not complaining since its only $ 13/person. For that price you can’t get this type of sushi anywhere. Everything was great and went smoothly, the only roll that wasn’t my forte was the Houston roll. It was really salty and not good at all, but overall, I’m definitely coming back for lunch!

Fake reviews, low quality sushi at way too high prices, unpleasant staff, not kids friendly. Unless they push you the«all you can eat» limited crap you are getting robbed. Shaggy Dog’s crab was old an dry, spicy tuna is not spicy at all, hand roll has 80% rice, 10% cucumber and 10% meat(tuna in this case). Not worth at all, drive a little more and go to Hikari or honesty any sushi place other than here.

I can understand doing an all you can eat sushi, but if your just going to trash what we sadly couldn’t finish, don’t just say to us «maybe you shouldn’t order so much». We were hungry and we’ve gotten to go boxes before in the past, so why now?! You lost our business from now on. If you want top quality sushi, go to Nagoya off i10& Westgreen.

They would rather throw away left over food then give you a to go box. Totally not OK.

This place was just a such a huge let down. I swear half these reviews are fake because The sushi was NOT good! I wanted to come during lunch but always work so my only option was for dinner which was not worth my $ 25 at all. Thank god for my 20% Unilocal check in. Oh and my waitress was nice and attentive Lucy 7 roll– 2⁄5: looked way better than it tasted, wasn’t completely fried, kept falling apart and overall I just didn’t the taste of it Crazy roll– 1⁄5: first off the roll was super cold like it was pre-made and left in the fridge. Then my shrimp tempera inside was cold and not hot/crunchy like it should be. The roll itself had no flavor and wasn’t good Sushi pizza– 2.5÷5: taste exactly like the Lucy roll except it was fried making it slightly better but it was nothing but lots of spicy tuna inside, I thought there’d be kani/crab meat. The item itself was too chunky/big Shrimp tempura– 3.5÷5: was not bad but the coating to shrimp ratio just threw it off. It would have been good but the coating was super thick Chicken wings– 3⁄5: not terrible but also not good. Was ok. There was really no sauce for it, just a tiny drizzle of probably unagi sauce or something. The breading batter seemed like corn flakes lol. The wings itself had no particular flavor and I didn’t like the taste but it was edible Beef fried rice– 2.5÷5: was ok, bit bland nothing special Shumai– 3⁄5: I got this because it was fried, although it didn’t say on the menu. My husband pointed out that it tasted like a fried egg roll and it did… It wasn’t very meaty and tasted like veggies Spring roll– 3⁄5: ordered this thinking it’d be an spring roll but it was really an egg roll. Full of veggies, not meat but hubby liked it so whateves Red bean ice cream– 1⁄5: gross. Taste artificial Green tea icecream– 1⁄5: even more gross. I usually don’t like green tea ice cream at restaurants cuz they taste off but this was the worst I’ve tried. Has no flavor at all but a slightly weird hint of something weird that’s not green tea To top that off, when I poured my soy sauce out into the bowl, a dead gnat flowed out. I didn’t even base my review off of that, the 2 star was based only on the food. If I had counted against them for that it would be 1 star. I will most likely never come back

Very nice! The location is kinda hidden but they have a sign on 529 telling you where to turn. Immediately greeted by a man who seems to be the owner. We had a really sweet waitress. And the owner was very attentive and walked around looking to help with whatever he could! Waitresses were also attentive and very polite! Always got a refill when we needed it and came immediately after we finished a round of food to see if we wanted to order more! We ordered the all you can eat lunch menu. There is a good number of options and they have things for everyone. Now onto the food! Some of my friends’ favorites: Chicken fried udon– smokey with good flavor. Chicken wings– very crunchy, but flavorful despite not being sauced. Seafood fried rice– he liked the omelette on top. Katsu don– pork was crunchy and sauce was tasty. He also liked the sushi rice there. My favorite things: Shrimp tempura– Very decent sized shrimp. Very crunchy and tasty! Squid tempura– Pretty good, and nice sauce that comes with it! Unagi bowl– For a small bowl, it was beautifully presented and delicious as well. Sushi rolls– Very basic but delicious, have standard rolls as well as creative fun rolls! I recommend the Katy roll, volcano, and #9. And last but not least, the thing that wowed me! You need to try the white tuna(escolar) nigiri/sushi. Decided to try this fish because of another Unilocaler’s review. It’s super buttery and it literally melts in your mouth. The sesame seeds are a nice touch, but it could do without the dot of sirarcha/chili sauce on top. I feel like it overpowers the taste of the fish. Just don’t eat more than 6OZ. of escolar! Moderation when it comes to this specific fish is important as you can learn from googling it! But it’s sooooo delicious! Some not so favorites: Beef teriyaki– a little chewy, the flavor was there but it wasn’t my favorite thing Yakitori– wasn’t moist enough but the flavor was okay. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and enjoyed the majority of the meals! Very satisfied! Will return soon to try dinner menu :) happy eating!

This place is fantastic. The prices is great. The ambiance is low key. The staff is very kind. There are tons of food to order from fried rice, soups and pages and pages of sushi. The best prices are lunch for $ 15. For the next two weeks they are offering 25% off. Come on in. Get stuffed. Leave to home happy.

This was an amazing experience. I have been there twice now and food and service have been excellent. The all you can eat is really worth it. Appetizers, main courses, soups, sushi, sashimi, specialty sushi rolls and dessert are included. Soft drinks/teas are extra, but anywhere else the same applies. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Japanese cuisine. I also would like to mention the atmosphere. It isn’t like Ra or other up beat location but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The calm atmosphere made it more enjoyable for me.

Sushi Shiga is Cypress’ hidden sushi gem! No longer do I have to drive all the way into town to get delicious, fresh, affordable sushi. I would highly recommend that everyone check this place out. A very unique twist on the«All You Can Eat» model. Nothing is prepared until you order it. No heat lamps or stale rolls. Everything is fresh to order and delicious!

My wife told me that one of her coworkers said that she was addicted to this place. Now maybe she’s only used to eating sushi from Kroger or HEB because there was nothing addictive about this sushi. Actually it tasted like HEB or Kroger’s sushi, but it’s all you can eat. The service was attentive and very nice though, so two stars for that. It’s definitely not as good as the other sushi buffet place in Willowbrook. Like Todd said, it’s an ok place but I wouldn’t take a date you was trying to impress out here, because it’s definitely no panty dropper.

We walked in line half an hour before closing. We were driving from Houston since I live close by to this place. New sushi joint, we even got a bottle of sake on the house. I’m starting to like cold sake now

I was pleasantly surprised. For the most past, it was enough to satisfy a craving so close to home and at an affordable price. Started of very well with tasty fried gyoza, shrimp tempura and unagi rolls. I wanted to try more so I ordered the beef teppanyaki with fry the onion or something like it, which turned out to be a whole lot of onion and a few tough pieces of beef. The Katsudon was tasty as well but definitely not what I was used to. Perhaps it was just their eayc sampler size. The egg was an omelette with bell peppers and onions and a small portion of rice underneath. Over all, not to shabby. Definitely a welcome addition to the area.

We were pleasantly surprised by Sushi Shiga. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. The staff, courteous and professional. They are somewhat limited in their sushi offerings, and I imagine that’s due to the business model. If they offered the pricier sushi items I would opt for the all-you-can-eat option and just stay there all day. They’d be out of business real quick. What they do have, they do very well. It’s either all-you-can-eat or you can order via a la carte, your choice. And it’s not only sushi — you can do appetizers, ramen, udon, tempura, and more the same way, too. And it’s all made to order. What we received was fresh and tasty, surprisingly good for the price. The eye opener for us was the tai nigiri, tilapia sushi. It was really good. We got the less expensive lunch. All-you-can-eat at dinner costs more, but it looks like the options are greater, as well. We got a few rolls, some good nigiri, and a bit of tempura to top it all off. All that we missed was the beer. Next time. I’ll probably try the ramen, too. Like I said, next time.

I want to preface that I really wish I could give a higher rating because they had such friendly service, but the food just isn’t there(yet– hopefully!). Food: You have the option of All-You-Can-Eat Lunch for $ 14.75 or the regular menu. I went with the All-You-Can-Eat(it’s made to order, not a buffet); my sister and husband ate off their regular menu. Their regular menu is very clear with prices, Kids Menu, etc. So I’m not sure what the other Unilocalers were talking about– but maybe the management reprinted and fixed it by the time we tried this place out on 6÷6÷15. Or maybe we just got the right menus. Sushi: The Rainbow Roll was nothing amazing, tasted no better than okay grocery store sushi. Not disappointing, but not the best ever for anyone who has ever had sushi before. Very much 3⁄5. I then later ordered 4 pcs of white tuna sushi— that was actually the highlight of my meal. The fish just melted in my mouth and was so good. It was really surprising given the Rainbow Roll I had had earlier. That simple white tuna sushi(aka nigiri) was probably one of the best I’ve had in the Cypress area. I would give that fish 5⁄5. I highly recommend going for those over the rolls. My sister had the shrimp tempura roll, which she said was also 3÷5−− nothing amazing, tasted fine. Katsudon: I was afraid that the katsudon(breaded pork cutlet) would be a huge portion, but it was actually pretty small! Which was perfect! The cutlet itself was a little dry because it was small, but it tasted yummy. The sauce was a little too sweet, but okay(tastes like it comes out of a bottle). It comes on top of a bowl of steamed rice with some veggies and a scrambled egg. I would say for Cypress– it’s probably 4⁄5. Overall comparing to real Japanese, it’s like a 2.5÷5−− for being dry and the too-sweet sauce. Beef udon: My husband said that the meat was chewy, broth was like water. He was really disappointed with his meal. 1⁄5. Service: Very friendly. The waiter/waitresses and hosts are all Chinese– I can see how there can be a bit of a language barrier at times, but we didn’t have an issue. They came by often to check on us, but I had to ask to refill my water. My glass was completely empty, so the service isn’t quite there yet with anticipating all the customer’s needs. Food came out a little slow compared to the number of diners(it was mostly empty). Ambiance: It looks like they have a sushi bar, tables, booths, as well as a slightly sectioned off room with more tables(I assume for more private dining). The bathrooms were surprisingly large and very clean. The restaurant itself was also clean– there was one fly that kept bugging us, so they actually discounted our meal because of it. Overall, I enjoyed my meal– I think because of that white tuna sushi(nigiri)! No one else seemed to have a similar experience with food. Their service was so, so friendly– I really want to give them another star. I hope their food and service improve over time. If I were ever in this area again, I would consider giving them another try. I would not go out of my way for it though.
