Great customer service. Knowledgeable staff about triathlon gear and tips and tricks to improve performance. Think I found my new triathlon store.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who took time to talk to me about what I needed. I like that they didn’t try to sell me something just because and seemed genuine.

I have an Ironman Triathlon later this year so I stopped by Tru Tri Sports initially because I was checking to see if they carried the Garmin Forerunner 920XT, it is a Multi-sport GPS watch for triathletes. I desperately need it for my training. I get there and was greeted by Charlotte. Charlotte was very friendly and welcoming, I immediately felt comfortable and trusted her opinions. When I inquired about the Garmin watch Charlotte immediately knew what I was talking about and showed me the product. Jordan, another store employee gave some feedback on the watch and said it was extremely popular and that they could not keep it in stock for long because they keep selling out. The 920XT is the higher end model of the Garmin’s but they carry a very extensive selection of different Garmin models too. When it comes to technology and hi-tech gadgets, I can be extremely picky. I like for my gadgets to work as advertised and I want to be able to easily understand how to use them, with that said, I always ask about return policies. Unfortunately, the policy here for electronics is if its opened it is no longer returnable. I let that sink for a little bit and did a walk through with Charlotte on other items i was looking for. like a new helmet for my cycling! I have to admit, they do have a very good selection of helmets. I wasn’t sure what size I was going to need, Charlotte was very patient with me and helped me try on all sorts of different helmet models and sizes. I found a good sized helmet, the style was pretty cool but I wasn’t all that in love with the color. I want the helmet to somewhat match my bike so Jordan was kind enough to offer ordering a helmet in the color I was looking for. While waiting for Jordan to pull that up on his computer, I let Charlotte know that I wanted some running shoes too. She asked me if there was a specific brand I was looking for and specifically said ‘Newtons’. She surprised and delighted me with news that their ‘Newtons’ are currently on a 50% off sale. Say wuuut?! I’ll take 10! Just kidding. But I did find a pair that I really liked, in my size, what a steal! I ended up taking the ‘Newtons’, I decided against the Garmin watch only because I prefer buying it somewhere that will let me return it in case I don’t happen to be happy with it. After Jordan pulled up the helmets on his computer for me to see, I found a color I really liked and ended up ordering the helmet online. Oh, one last minute tip! If you’re a registered USA Triathlon Member, you earn a 10% discount on items that are not marked down. My previous experience with Tru Tri Sports was really good but this time I had exceptional service thanks to Charlotte & Jordan. Especially Charlotte! I’ll definitely be back if I need anything.

A local tri shop right in the Cypress area. They have a bike mechanic on hand and a bike fitter. They also offer swim lessons and run gait analysis. As for gear — they offer swim gear, bike gear, running gear as well as great nutrition options. Nice to have an option close to home.
