Love coming up here on weekends with the family. You can’t go wrong with their BBQ pork sandwich or the vegetarian tomato soup plate. I will say, though, the last time I ate there the soup tasted like it had been canned, rather than the fresh stuff they used to serve. Getting a seat is a bit difficult at peak hours, or for parties more than 5. Flagging down your waitress can also sometimes be a bit of a task. Altogether a fun little shop to grab a bite on the weekend.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would but unfortunately 1 star is the least you can give. Worst service ever and the food wasn’t even good! Our order consisted of cold soup & dried out pork. I was told the soup was served in a sourdough bread bowl but could not detect the taste of sourdough at all; it tasted like plain white bread but in all honesty this was the best part of the meal as the soup was cold and barely half a cups worth of soup. The pork had some yellow honey mustard sauce drizzled over it which was not described on the menu, I’m assuming it was added to try and disguise the fact that it was so dried out. I ordered fruit as a side and was served 2 dried out slices of orange with the peel, 2 pieces of cantaloupe that did not have any fruit just a hunk of green rind and two slices of apple. The two young women waiting on customers were very rude and ignored every customer that walked in through the door. They took forever taking orders and getting the food served. After our food was served neither girl ever bothered to check on us or came to ask if we would like to order dessert. They weren’t that busy because the restaurant only had about two or three other customers! These girls were either chatting to each other at the counter as they ignored the customers or they were in the back nowhere to be found! We called for our sever twice and she looked right at us but ignored us and walked over to take another couples order. We waited over 35 minutes to get our check!

Great place for soup or chicken salad. They also have many desserts. Come early during lunch time if you want a table, but they always have togo. I ordered the tomato basil soup plate which was delicious and came with soup, salad, toast points, and fruit. They didn’t have bread bowls today which was a bummer, but the service was great and quick especially for how crowded it was.

I stopped into this cute little shop while on a weekend in Dahlonega with some of my sorority sisters. We are from Atlanta, but I have been a life-long fan of Dahlonega as I have family up there. We were here in the evening; it must have been around 7:30PM. I was delighted to see that they were still open! We were originally drawn to this place because of the live music! A local duo was singing and playing in one corner of the establishment right by the windows and open doors. The scenario felt very home-y and welcoming, like you could quietly belong there. I went straight to the display case full of sweets when I walked in and ordered an M&M cookie. We didn’t have more than a second to stay, but I wish we had! The décor was perfectly adorable and small-town trendy, especially considering that it was nestled right into Dahlonega’s historic square. The young woman who served me was uncommonly kind. Though we only briefly spoke, she asked me casually about what I had ordered from Gustavo’s(pizza place down the block; I had the box in my hand) and I told her my friends and I were just here for the weekend, but that I loved Dahlonega and would be back. She was polite, funny, and welcoming. How pleasant! Assuming she was around my age, she probably attends or did attend the University of North Georgia, which is just down the street from the square. Though I didn’t stay long, what I did experience at this little place was worth reviewing. I will be back here on my next trip up to Dahlonega!

Homemade cookie cakes and snacky dings… lol I love little mom and pop shops and restaurants. Located on the square in dahlonega, this little place makes all their goodies in house. Homemade pimento cheese BLT with a siky creamy tomato bisque and chips for $ 9.02. I enjoyed every bite. The college kids work here and do a nice job. Very casual and relaxing. It seems they emphasize good coffee. I didn’t have any but I bet it’s a darn good cup. Give it a try.

Atmosphere is super cute and perfect for a downtown square type of café. We all ordered sandwiches, and they come on a variety of bread types. The food was good, but a little overpriced for what it was. The coleslaw was very good as well as the potato salad. The cookies are amazing!

The breakfast options were egg, meat & cheese sandwiches on various breads. I ordered one on a bagel, it came on toast. I clarified the type of cheese; she insisted it was cheddar, and in reality it was processed American(which I detest). I asked her if there was another place for breakfast when my spouse awakens, she said no, that the nearest was miles out of town, when in reality we found a great place across the street(Crimson Moon Café). Perhaps the bakery is wonderful, but the breakfast options were minimal, the sales folk clueless, and it was a bad start to the day.

Sweet little place right on the square. The food was good, nothing too special. The atmosphere could be better. It has the potential to be really cute but the décor is disappointing. The servers were all very helpful and friendly.

Had to get our own menus, the café is very small and has enough staff, but they failed to wait on us in a timely way. I very much enjoyed the peach chicken salad sandwich and brunswick stew and the fresh fruit, but my friend did not like the chicken salad plate. However, her chicken salad plate came with a fantastic lemon poppyseed muffin.

Had lunch here yesterday and was unpleasantly surprised. The service was slow and awkward, but friendly. The menu was limited, and therefore, we were expecting good food for that reason. The main entrees for lunch were pretty large, so I decided to order just a sandwich and chips. Only one sandwich was without mayo(salad sandwich), so that’s the one I ordered — bbq pork. When I got the meal, they charged and served me the full meal portion with 2 sides(which is was I DIDNTWANT), and the bbq sauce was a mustard vinegar base = yellow. It tasted okay, until I had to spit out several gristle bites. My wife ordered a cup of soup and a side of «toast points» = pita chips. When we got our food, the server apologized that they ran out of toasted points, but gave her what they had left — croûton crumbs. Normally this wouldn’t bother me if it was on the house, but they charged us full price for the side that didn’t exist and was significantly less than product described. I was surprised of the overall experience when the bill came. The food was far from good or special and the cost was at that level or above. AVOIDTHISPLACE if you want a decent meal. I do hear good things about their desserts, but who knows…

DONOTORDERTHEPRESWEETENEDICEDCOFFEE!!! Tasted like thick melted sugar mixed with a pinch of coffee, gross. Also when I say thank you to the server 2 separate times, once no response, second time I got a «mm».

umm… I’m not sure how to review this one. We had an okay experience, not bad but also not great. The food came out fairly quick, although all at different times. The food seemed fresh, but lacked a certain finesse in seasoning. It seemed a little overpriced for what you got and was way to heavy on citrus fruit as a «side», a strange side… service was polite but unpolished. Comparing it to some of the other competitor café’s in the square, it seemed slightly nicer. It is charming but the devil is in the details, and upon closer inspection it felt a little run-down. But the food did hit the spot. So not sure how to judge this one… a hair above average I guess plus points for charm.

It’s picnic food inside an old-fashioned restaurant and bakery in Dahlonega. Fun atmosphere and worth a try if you’re passing through this town known for its gold rush from centuries ago. Your choices are mostly picnic food — gourmet sandwich plates, gourmet salad plates, and lots and lots of cookie choices. Sandwich options include honey ham salad, barbeque pork, egg salad, tuna salad, and cheddar pimento cheese. Slightly outside of the picnic food category are the gourmet soup plates. Soup comes on the side with a lot of the sandwiches, but if you order a gourmet soup plate you’ll get your soup in a baked bread bowl. I tried a soup but not the bread bowl. My friends tried the soup in the bread bowl, though, and liked their bread bowls. I ordered the Sweet Georgia Peach Chicken Salad Sandwich with a tomato basil bisque and potato salad. The sandwich wasn’t too large, but it was quite tasty. Very high quality chicken salad, in my opinion. I liked the potato salad as well — it had a lot of mustard. The tomato soup hit the spot. You get all of this for less than $ 10. I tried a chocolate chip cookie as well. It was okay — little bit on the dry side. I liked my lunch better. But there’s a large assortment of desserts to choose from, including cannolis. I may try something else next time. If you really like your lunch, you can buy the salads to go by the pound.

Best thing here… The croutons. Was told there was Lobster Bisque, waited 20 min just to find out there was none left. Had to order new food which came out quickly. The Georgia Peach chicken salad sandwich was bland and didn’t even taste like peaches. The mac and cheese was also bland. The salad, a pile or greens with two pieces of onion, two dried up pieces of squash, two half-slices of cucumber, two tomatoes, and two pieces of croûton(the best thing here). Tomato basil soup was okay but it seemed like canned soup with a bit of diced, canned tomatoes and basil… Definitely not coming back.

Cannolis are delish, no lie. Also got the strudel coffee, taste like Xmas in a cup! Really cute and quaint shop in downtown Dahlonega. Nice place to walk on the weekend. Staff was courteous and helpful. Just hat we needed after a hike in the mountains.

I live in Dahlonega & never knew about this place. I had a hair appointment today at my salon on the square & my hair stylist recommended it. It was amazing! I had the southern ham salad sandwhich & it was delicious. I also ordered some chocolate peanut butter cookies & ate both while I was there & they were so yummy, I ordered more to take home. :)

Bottom line: Very cute, personable establishment with some tasty sandwiches and desserts, although some meals are better than others. A-OK. Get some baklava. The décor is clean and bright in this cute establishment, located off the main Dahlonega square, that is a cross between a coffee shop and a sandwich shop. They serve a variety of sandwiches, soups, coffees, and delectable desserts. We both opted for sandwich combos that come with a sandwich, cup of soup, and side item. I initially ordered the pimiento cheese sandwich but the waitress tipped me off that they have a BLT with pimento cheese — yes, please! I was really happy with this BLTPC — the cheese was tasty, the bacon was thick and not oily, and the tomatoes were substantial and firm. Very good — a hit! The other sandwich we ordered, the Ham Salad sandwich, was only so-so. It had egg mixed into the ham salad(which was fine although unexpected), and tasted more like deviled eggs with mustard. Meh — a miss. The bread tasted fresh and yummy, but I think the potato salad had whipped mayo in it, and it was more of that whipped stuff than potato. The tomato bisque was fine, although it seemed more tomato soup than tomato bisque. The baklava was excellent! Super-sweet layers of honey goodness! So not a bad spot. Just be selective and don’t stray from the gems highlighted in the reviews.
