Spirits Tavern

Stopped by Spirits tavern for a bite to eat before going out while visiting in Dahlonega. The drinks and service were so good we ended up staying here all night!!!
We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of having Jordan as our bartender. Let me tell y’all this guy can make some serious drinks!!! Catch him out there while you can because I have a feeling he will move on to big time bartending somewhere.
The chef was awesome as well. I didn’t catch his name however he was testing out a recipe for boiled peanuts the night I was there. It was my first time having boiled peanuts (Don’t judge I’m from the west coast) and it changed my life! I’m already pinning recipes on Pinterest planning an attempt to recreate the snack lol.
To top it all off, they had a live band that night. (Friday). To be honest, I was expecting them to annoy me with some country tunes but I quickly got a reality check to stop judging based on looks when I started hearing soft, beautiful, soulful tunes.
I will definitely be back if I ever find myself in the area again!

Picture this: I was stopping by from out of town, on a very rainy and dark day. My spirits (get it? Haha) were also damp and low. Spirits seemed to be the only brightly lit place around that area. I entered, looking for a refuge from the rain.
Inside, the atmosphere was really relaxed and everyone was super friendly. The owner (?) knew everyone by name.
The food was really good. I had the dragons breath burger with fries and a moonshine margarita. The burger was thick and super super fresh and well seasoned. The thick fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside i.e.: the perfect fries.
The moonshine margarita was everything. It was smooth and strong and I’d drink it right now if I had a gallon of it beside me.
If you’re up there, I highly recommend it.

First let me say that the atmosphere is great. This place feels like a nice neighborhood bar, simple and easy. That is about all I can say about this place. Food, well, nothing to write home about. The food is just basic bar food that this place tries (and fails miserably) to make something special. It strikes me that it is prepared more meet the expectation of some frustrated culinary school dropout’s desire to be trendy more than tasty.
I hope they do well, I am not sure but I do not think they have been open long. I doubt they will be open the next time I drive through Dahlonega. Of course, it is in Dahlonega, maybe the university population will keep it open longer. We’ll all have to wait and see.

Stopped here for an early dinner after hiking preachers rock. Nice location right on the square.

Really trendy little place in the downtown area. They had a good craft selection on tap and service was great. I was really impressed with my veggie burger. It was clearly housemade and finding great vegetarian options like that in remote areas of Georgia is a rare treat. They do burgers and they do them well with unique selections of toppings. I had the voodoo veggie burger and it was perfection right down to the toasted bun. This would be my go to bar in Dahlonega for sure.

Fantastic burgers! You can also sub chicken for beef. Great staff. Had great service and fantastic wine.

After giving this place a second chance I, again, left disappointed. I asked for my burger to be cooked with some pink and got a very well done meat. I only was able to eat the potato salad. They didn’t even discount $ 1.00 from the bill!!!

Food was ok other than burger was under cooked. Service was the worst I have experienced in a while.

Great pub food. Burgers and Dogs. Good small plates. Had the corn dogs, Mac n cheese bites, and chicken strips. Hotdog was amazing as well. Just a little messy. Needs a more substantial bun for all the toppings allowed.

Excellent food. I had the Walker burger, which came with «pepper jack cheese, avocado corn salsa, topped with a grilled jalapeño cream cheese spread». The corn salsa was delicious; fresh corn from what I can tell. The bun was very good, and the meat — well, I’ve had a lot of burgers around Atlanta, and this was up there with the best of them.
The bartender told me Ben was in the kitchen last night. Excellent job, Ben.
I also had one of the cocktails with ginger beer. Very tasty.
My one reservation was that the band that was playing — which was certainly a decent band — was cranked up too high for a small bar.
Oh, and Unilocal classifies this as a sports bar. I suppose that’s true — there were multiple TVs, and they did have sports on them — but this place doesn’t feel like a sports bar. (That’s a good thing in my book.)

Jeremiah is the best!!! Very relaxed and the Bloody Mary’s are to die for!!! We had a drink, left for dinner and came back. He remembered who we were and what we were drinking. Live music and very friendly atmosphere made put it on the top ofmy list for my next visit to the area.

We had a very bad experience. The service was bad, the waitress could not get a single order correct, the food is average at best. I could never recommend this place. I could say worst place in town to eat but have not eat at all places but can’t imagine any worse in this town.

Great food! I highly recommend the turkey burgers and my friends loved the grass fed beef burgers. A huge group of us showed up and they greeted warmly and had no problems getting us all seated closely. Food served promptly and was fabulous!

Nice place in downtown Dahlonega. Burgers were really good and rivaled what we get in Atlanta. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Great food, great service, and fun/​friendly atmosphere for everyone! Best place to chill and kick back in Dahlonega! Oh and awesome live entertainment!

Worst place to eat in Dahlonega, service was Very bad and our order was wrong. Several times, seemed they couldn’t get anything right

Dahlonega’s newest bar and grill is the place to be! Great service, great food, & lots of fun!
