This campground is basically a farmer’s back field. The view is stunning. It’s quite utilitarian, and if you need a one night stopover either to hit the Appalachian Trailhead or to pass through, this campground will serve that need nicely. The«sites» are just kind of wherever(not the kind of place where you have a gravel square 3 feet away from someone else’s gravel square). The ground is clear and grassy, there are no trees(at all). There is a single well-cleaned bathroom and shower with hot water, located at the end of the horse stables(this farm boards horses). Some sites do have an electrical outlet and water spigot. If you need a bunch of activities like a pool or a store or kid’s playground, this will not do for you. *TIP: there is no sign for the campground, just for the Springer Mountain Stables. You turn into the stables. Call the owner first and he’ll meet you by the stables. Nice guy.
