Shrimp scamp with the grits omg omg it is soooooo good! Love the chowder and the pies are always good! We occasionally try the soups of the day, the shiitake is a little to spicy and acidic for me and tried the sweet potato soup, the avocado didn’t mesh well with it. The specials are always worth a try. We liked the Caesar salad. The steak sandwich is ok but I think I will stick to the shrimp scampi. i like that its byob. Other times I have ordered the fish and Chips and my boyfriend has ordered the Lobster roll.

I found this place under Asian café listing on Unilocal; its name and menu intrigued me. The daily special Grilled the Bay Fundy Salmon was exceptionally delicious — grilled salmon on top of 2 kinds of chilled Japanese noodles with a miso & mild mustard mixture dressing on a bed of baby spinach — the best dish I’ve ever had in Texas so far(I’m visiting for 6 weeks). It’s better than and more creative than any dish from a Japanese restaurant. Although the restaurant is American, the Japanese flair makes it unique. The green mussels dish is cooked in an Asian way too — lots of fresh ginger roots and cut-up shiitake mushrooms cooked in a broth with minced garlic and spinach; a touch of pepper adds a kick to your taste bud. If this dish is served in a fancy seafood restaurant, the price can be doubled. I love seafood and Japanese food! Will definitely return to try more dishes. This eatery is a jewel in a haystack. I maybe moving from San Francisco Bay Area to Dallas now. ;-).

This is our favorite date night spot. It’s counter service and BYOB. Oysters are always huge! So far, I’ve tried their lobster roll(amazing), shrimp and chips(chips with fried garlic and rosemary, yum!), green room mussels(delicious!), shrimp scampi(non-traditional, but tasty) and their oyster po-boy(awesome, with pickled onions). Obviously, everything I’ve tried is really really good. And with them being BYOB, your meal will stay affordable so you can splurge for more oysters!

I had the special which was trout with chipotle mashed potatoes. And the key lime pie. All were delicious. Especially the key line pie. Cant wait to go back.

Love the deco and the atmosphere here! Staff is friendly. Food is good, nothing particularly awesome or not awesome. The ramen was kinda overly hyped but I’m not complaining. I think it’s BYOB too!

20 foot Seafood joint sits aloof like a moody slightly irascible and mischievous hipster Long John Silvers with its pirate wooden ship front door complete with rusty porthole window and metal steering wheel to reveal a dark dining room with old weathered terrazzo floors and a black ceiling dripping with aged boat ropes and sea nets. It’s simple neat menu is a combo of classic seafood dishes like clam chowda $ 4/7, mussels $ 9, pineapple ponzu oyster shooters $ 2, a lobster roll $ 19, po boys from $ 9 and fried clams or fish and chips $ 14. You can even wash it down with a key lime pie slice for $ 5. I was keen on trying the ramen, which for $ 12 seemed a bit steep, but the bowl was large, so was the pork belly portion. Two large glorious pieces or pork belly were more than half fat and brimmed with a luscious smoky flavor. It was definitely an American spin on ramen topped with pepper flakes and spices with a maybe premature broth including steamed spinach with a perfect sous vide egg cut in half. I ate it all, even the pork belly fat against my dietary Angels advice and its inauthentic bold rudeness. Gimmick is 20 foots charm. It’s okay to sin here in this dark den of inequity, load up on calories of fried food and soak in the atmosphere with an easy rock pop stoner soundtrack. 20 foot seafood is nothing like I expected, but it is a refreshing something with its own voice — a very cool kid with the munchies. Byob wine — no corkage fee. Covered patio

I’m sorry to say but the three of us were not that impressed. The broth was lacking on the ramen. We really wanted to like it but I couldn’t even eat it past 3 bites. The lobster roll is the better option of the two in our opinion.

I came here to try their ramen since I heard it was pretty good. To me, it was average at best and honestly probably below average. The broth was bland and the pork belly was too tough. The noodles tasted like they came out of a box. The one redeeming thing about this place is the ipswich whole belly clams which were delicious and something I’ve never tried before. Parking is scarce in their actual lot but you can easily park in the larger lot across the street.

What a great find! I ordered the shrimp and grits recommended to me by the person taking my order. I wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t expect cabbage on top but it added some texture and balance to the grits which were delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My friend ordered the ramen, which we’d read about. It didn’t disappoint. It had a tasty broth and an egg that tasted as if it had been marinated in soy. We shared the chocolate pie. It was the BOMB! The parking sucks but the food is worth it.

The staff is a bunch of young adults who are friendly enough. The lobster roll was good. It was my first one so I have nothing to compare it to but it doesn’t have me craving my next one or anything. The clam chowder wasn’t my favorite but there was nothing really wrong with it either. The gumbo wasn’t good at all but I’m learning that I may just not like gumbo. It’s muddy tasting everywhere I eat it. The shrimp and grits were good as well but heavy on the slaw. This trip to dine left me feeling sort of indifferent. There was nothing really wrong but absolutely no wow factor. I likely won’t be back. As others have said, this is byob and there is a gas station right up the way that sells.

Lemme see that lobster roll!!! Yes, you heard me– lemme see that lobster roll and eat it… and eat it again and again! After finding parking in the very limited, busy lot, you can begin salivating over what food to order at 20 Feet since you have been staring for days at the pics graciously uploaded by fellow Unilocalers. 20 Feet gives off a casual-beach goer vibe as you make your way inside. The setup is your typical standard counter service for placing orders. I arrived before the lunch time rush on a Friday and did not have to wait in line to order. You cannot venture to 20 Feet without partaking in the ridiculously scrumptious lobster roll– generously packed with big, fresh chunks of lobster overflowing from a buttery, toasted bun. I know there have been mixed reviews on the lobster roll but I think it’s all a matter of personal preference. I think the lobster roll here is worth a try, even if just once. Deliciousness comes in all forms– big or small– and I enjoy its simple pleasures. Oh and don’t even get me started on that oyster poboy– surprisingly it was on par with some of the best poboys I’ve had down in New Orleans. There were plenty of fried oysters– juicy, plump, and tasty– it was a very satisfying poboy experience. And then we have the closer– the elusive food element that ties all parts of the meal together– those addictive, rosemary-garlic, thin cut fries! Just reliving this delightful food journey by writing this review is making me drool like a baby! Call me a very happy camper because I would really camp out here and try ALL the fresh seafood items, along with the ramen and banh mi too! You will be pleasantly surprised when you come to 20 Feet– so go ahead and bookmark it for a future visit. Who know’s you might find yourself chanting my lobster roll song too after you savagely devour all that deliciousness!

It took a while to try this place out even though it’s in walking distance from home. It is part of the revival of the old Texas Trap corner which now houses three great, yet distinct, eating places. 20 Feet is the quirkiest of the three with semi pirate theme which is strange since they don’t have a front yaaaard. Sorry. What they do have, though, is a great concept, very good food and excellent attentive service. It’s BYOB with no silly corkage fee. They even provide ice buckets if needed. And since you order at the counter there’s ample opportunity to chit chat with others while waiting in line and maybe swap a few beers to make things interesting. And be warned, on weekends there will be a line. We went on a Friday around 7 and the line was to the door. But the line moved steadily. And everyone seemed in a jovial mood. We ordered, found a table in the tent and waited for our food to come out. We had no trouble finding seating. My wife had the shrimp scampi and loved it. Our companion had the shrimp and chips but said the batter was a bit too much for her taste. I pigged out and had the Caesar salad which had just the right blend of ingredients, the chicken Po Boy which tasted super but could have used a little more chicken and the fries. The fries were thin cut with rosemary and chunks of garlic fried in. OMGWFTLOLIMHO alone worth the trip. I could eat those babies all night. But I wouldn’t because you need to save room for the key lime pie. Homemade and a must for any Texan fantasizing about eating«down east». And, by the way, the prices were very reasonable considering the product, the service and the neighborhood vibe.

Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is causal, cute, and relaxing. The decorations are adorable. The restaurant has the theme of sailor stuff. The person helping us was really friendly and nice! Staff seems friendly overall. I would say the food is expensive, but it was worth it in my opinion. I had the lobster roll, clam chowder, and half a dozen oysters. I haven’t tried anything else, but I plan on coming back! This place is like Luke’s Lobster in New York if anything, and I love Luke’s Lobster! I’d say both places are pretty similar, but this place has more on their menu? Also, this place does have cheaper stuff on their menu. The bread provided for the lobster roll was like a banh mi(Vietnamese sandwich), smaller version. It was cute!

Byob! I know you’re not supposed to get ramen at a seafood joint but… I was craving it! I got the pork belly ramen and tried the lobster roll. Total was about $ 33. The lobster roll was good but I was expecting my taste buds to explode more than they did. It’s pretty pricey for just that roll, although the chunks of lobster are large! Pork belly. You shouldn’t be so hard. The taste of the broth was okay, i expected more flavor from it. The egg was 10/10, they nailed that part. The noodles themselves were fine and I did get full! It’s a bit musky in here but I think they were going for a ship feel. They’re connected to the beer garden next door, so walk all the way down and look for the door with the wheel on it. It’s smaller!

This is a review of the lobster roll that everyone raves about. Honestly, I just don’t get it. It might be fresh, but it is so bland! The mayo completely overpowers the lobster and there is hardly any seasoning. If this is how you like a lobster roll, then go for it. Btw, almost $ 20 for a medium-small roll with no sides? Not impressed. If you want a fresh New England style lobster roll with actual flavor for way less, head over to Seabreeze in Plano(this coming from someone who almost never ventures past 635).

I am in love! The food here is quality so prepare to treat yourself. It’s not completely all seafood as they offer a variety of dishes you would not expect. I thought this place was going to have lobster and oyster(which they do but not a variety of it) but they also have ramen! Ramen in a seafood joint! Po boys and lots of salads. I do wish they have more dishes added since I am always down for more seafood choices. BYOB. I’ll be back! But with a hopeful desire that their chef would keep adding more dishes so that I could try! *take my money!!*

If admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery, then here goes: I got rolled by this lobster roll two times in three days. Yes, I need help. This is a legitimate step up from the Big Shucks /Hook Line and Sinker seafood joint. Don’t know why I was hesitant about trying 20 Feet: maybe wondering about the seafood /ramen combination? I usually like a place that does one primary thing and does it well. Once you finally arrive, you see that this is a casual place, but there are some serious chops and cooking going on back in the kitchen. And the one thing they do well is make delicious food. Lobster roll, oh sweet lobster roll. Yes you are $ 19. That is quite a lot of money especially when I can eat three of you at once. Still, the fluffy, soft texture of the roll and the buttery sweet lobster meat make it almost perfect. Fried oysters, fish and chips, the fries: tasty. I love the fried garlic cloves studding the fries(although, I won’t go so far as to eat one) and I’m a sucker for sprigs of rosemary which run throughout the fries. Still on my list: trying the clams and the shrimp and grits. Add to that the old East Dallas vibe and the tables BYOB’ing it to good effect and this is a wonderful place that I’m glad is finally on my radar. And owner Marc Cassel rocking the white Abraham Lincoln chin curtain beard… strong, VERY strong! Ahh, yes I have been know to have some beard envy and Marc’s deserves that for sure. So if I miss work, or blow you off after we made plans, you might find me curled up under a table at Twenty Feet jonesing on a lobster roll. If so, don’t try to help me-just enable me and drop an extra $ 20 on the table for my next fix.

20 Feet Seafood Joint is a seafood restaurant in East Dallas that happens to serve up some unique, inventive dishes. A sign of a good seafood restaurant is their daily specials. You can call in to see what new fish, dish, or dessert is special. This is one of the best, laid back seafood restaurants in Dallas. My Overall Rating — 5 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — I’ve been here a few times, but it wasn’t until 20 Feet Seafood Joint built their outdoor patio that I decided I was long overdue. The original«joint» was small, with limited unshaded tables outside. Now, they have a huge patio outside which doubles the space. Inside, you’ll find directions to line up to place your order. Take time to review specials and get your appetite going. It’s casual, cool, and has a great seaworthy feel. The only negative is lack of parking. They share a lot with Goodfriend Burger, so it can be hard to find a spot. 1 Star. Service — The staff are friendly & helpful. Service consists of going through the line to place your order, getting a number, and having items brought out(and later cleared). It’s standard counter service but like I said they’re helpful and efficient. Also — there is a second register you can order more items if you’ve already placed an order. You’re not really skipping the line, it’s more like you’re adding to your order. I’m glad they do this. 1 Star. Food — A quality lobster roll in Dallas? In the same place that sells pork belly ramen? Yes. And Yes. This is what makes 20 Feet Seafood Joint unique. Let’s start with the lobster roll: First it’s not that big and it’s expensive. That being said, you’ll get large, creamy chunks of lobster in a toasted bun. I think TJ’s has a better roll, but for Dallas it’s one of the best. The ramen is also surprisingly good. Now, you won’t get options to add an extra egg or other items. Quality broth, silky ramen make for a great bowl, but again not the best. Also, don’t underestimate options like a simple house salad with grilled salmon. This is a tasty, refreshing, and healthy option all together. Don’t want to be healthy? Add a side of rosemary fries! So many restaurants are going with«parmesan & truffle» so it’s nice to see them continue to be unique. The rosemary is fragrant and not over bearing — a worthy addition to your order. I think if you come here only to get the lobster roll or ramen you are truly limiting yourself. When you include those daily specials, this joint turns into a true seafood lover’s destination. 2 Stars. Will I Return? — Yes. Its main weakness is lack of parking. But again, I don’t see 20 Feet Seafood Joint as «that place with ramen and lobster rolls». This is a true, laid back, high quality seafood restaurant that strives to be unique. To me, it exceeds in this area and with the new patio, I can’t wait to come back. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Small little gem! JR and I came here for Ramen on a cold evening. Funny to order ramen from a seafood joint but the their pork ramen was delicious!!! The broth was rich and full of flavor! Each slice of pork was thick and meaty. They also crisp the outer layer of the pork which was the cherry on top to each bite! Service was great and it is also BYOB here. Staff was friendly and the concept of 20 feet is pretty cool! Heard some good things about their lobster roll so I’ll be getting that next time!

Everything I sampled last night was delicious! I bought the lobster roll and herb seasoned fries. These were the BEST fries I’ve eaten at a restaurant. Now the lobster roll(wish I had one now) was so goooooooooood! I bit into it and cried. It was even more amazing with the melted butter. I’m so happy my friends took me there. I will be back very soon for another roll! Review coming soon at and Real Talk Real Food on Facebook.
