My burger was delicious! The chin strap was heavier in the blue cheese(all meaty too!) than the bacon. It was more small crumbles than strips, so that was a bummer, but it worked. Very tasty, but a tad expensive since it doesn’t include fries.

They have good beer, which is not something you used to be able to say about many places in Dallas – though that is changing. And they have really good food. They have a patio, but like all too many patios in Dallas it just faces a street and a parking lot. So it’s not what I would call a «cool’ patio. The problem here is the crowd. Especially on a weekend. And I suppose it’s crowded because it’s popular and good, but personally I’d rather have a place that’s a little more unknown or out of the way so you can find a seat and relax rather than standing around with your friends and hoping some group gets up and you can rush to their dirty table.

A fun spot to have a burger and beer with friends. They have a killer beer selection and the burgers are top notch. I had the burger with pork belly, YES! Welcome to flavor country. If you are looking for a quiet, intimate dining experience, this is not your place. If you are a vegetarian or on a diet, this is not your place. If you are still living life on the edge as a beer-swilling carnivore, Goodfriends is your spot.

Looking for a great local spot within the neighborhoods. Doesn’t get much better than this. Great atmosphere, great patio for summer and winter, and great food. They don’t have an extensive menu, but they do cover the basics and specialize in what they do serve. I had the regular cheeseburger and it was perfectly cooked(medium) along with some well cooked waffle fries. I will be back!

An amazing selection of beers! Their burgers are good, but the cheese fries– Oh my– they are to die for! I think it’s the combination of cheeses– get them, get them now.

Such an awesome spot! Kind of a drive out from where I live but totally worth it. We sat outside in the covered seating area– super spacious and heated very well! The service was superb, even though we were outside they were very observant. We got fried green beans and sweet potatoes fries to start which were delicious. I split a cheese burger with my friend which was also tasty. This is a great spot, lots of room and especially great for big groups. They also have a very large selection of beer if that is your thing. Definitely recommend this place, it’s worth the drive if you’re more central!

What a great Unilocal find! Out running around town and used Unilocal to help us find a yummy spot. BINGO! Good friend burger is the perfect spot to hang out, have a cold brew and hot burger(we’ve got our eyes on you annihilator)! We started out with the cheese fries and they were oh so perfect! Crispy waffle fries covered in shredded cheese, bleu cheese, scallions, jalapeños, and crispy bacon. They come with regular ranch(which is pretty good in it’s own rights) but you should also ask for the ghost pepper ranch. Shout out to MJ, our waitress. She was perfectly on point when she recommended to get the half order. It was big, but not near as over the top as the full order which comes out on a sheet tray! I had the chili burger and my husband had the German dog. Both were fantastic! I also had the Glasgow Gangster. It’s a very smoky smooth cocktail made with Vida mezcal, jw black, agave nectar, orange bitters, and grapefruit juice. Give it a shot! It’s not the easiest place to find and parking can be a real issue, however you definitely should put this little gem on your«to do» list!

Don’t go here if you’re trying to be healthy. We ordered the cheese fries, husband ordered the burger with pork belly and I had the barbecue grilled cheese. It was amazing and we had plenty of leftovers for late night. Service was great and we sat on their heated patio which was nice.

This is a WEAK Four. I not sure if I should give this place a solid four or a 3.75, but Ill figure that out if I come back here. They have several items I wouldn’t mind trying, but for my first experience, I decided to try the Arnold and Elsie(I was in the mood for something a bit more traditional). I ordered the sweet potato waffle fries and they were delicious. The burger itself was not completely consistent in texture or flavor, but it was still a solid burger. Some parts of the meat did not pop. Other places did. Sometimes the vegetables seem bland and simply made things cold. Other times the vegetables gave the right amount of moisture. The bun itself held up well and was quite consistent. My friend ordered the Annihilator, and my life would never be the same… Maybe Im being dramatic, but this burger is not for the fair tempered. This burger was literally the SPICIESTTHING I’VEEVERHAD from a restaurant. They aren’t joking when they mention ghost and scorpion peppers. My friend asked for the«pepper paste» on the side, and she was crying from the intensity. She took maybe three bites, and then preceded to down four glasses of water within 60 seconds. She literally snatched the water from my hand and chugged it. She couldn’t talk for 5 minutes. She would periodically choke and cough in spurts. After maybe 20 minutes, she calmed down. I was so curious, that I scooped up a fingernail size of this pepper paste with my butter knife and preceded to swallow. Have you ever had a moment in your life where you knew something was wrong. the kind of feeling where you feel scared with what will happen after you feel a sense of violent vertigo? That was exactly how I felt. The moment that paste entered my digestive system, I could feel my body churning like a rusty cog within a nuclear machine of death and despair. I immediately had a mild case of heartburn and knew that stuff was unholy. This was the kind of stuff that you don’t swear on your worst enemies. it was that hot. I’ve talked to several people since, and all their experiences seemed similar; Some more dramatic than mine. Flavor wise, I think the pepper paste was good, but it was so damn hot, my taste buds could barely since any nuance. If you do decide to order this, bear in mind the consequences may be fatal?!

All I have to say is yum. I am a open burger snob and this place has definitely made it into my top 3 favorite burger places. If that hasn’t convinced you to go and you need a little more persuading, then let me drop this fact on you. Fact: they have waffle fries that are to die for. You can also get them in sweet potato waffle fries for all of you weirdos. But really. Go there meow.

Great atmosphere, albeit a little hipster for my taste. Went on Halloween and all employees were dressed as Tarantino characters. Service was a little slow to start, but we got some great beers and grown up grilled cheese on our first round. We went to explore for the rest of the evening, but came back here for late night. Got some beers and some sloppy joes to go. 2 times, 1 day — that says something about a place :)

Seen this place on FB an seen the Spud Mekenzi«Cheese Fries» decided to give it a try. Tried this place out one day and sat out on the patio service seemed to be quick we got to order drinks quickly but after getting the drinks the water disapeared for a long time. Maybe about 15 minutes… Ordered the Spud Mekenzi and waited even longer about 25 minutes. They brought out the fries and i asked for a side of ranch and ordered a burger well done, and never got the ranch… just ate the fries with ketchup. When the burger came out it was medium rare… But anyhow another waiter came out an did a lot better job then the other guy who kept disappearing for 30 minutes at a time. they fixed the burger it was good but after this visit we got there at noon an didnt leave till 2:40pm after waiting a long time for everything, it was busy but at least getting refilles on drinks or just saying the food will come out a bit longer then just completly being ignored for 20+ minutes at a time. Rating this at a 3 star. Food 4 Service 1

Really amazing selection of local craft beer. They have a large section of local and none local brews that are actually reasonable on price. The food was great can’t speak for the burgers but most of what I saw was large portions. The burger that I had was the Chin strap it had blue cheese and bacon great on flavor but they skimped out on the bacon I got bacon crumbles not slice bacon. Other than that great bar. Oh the parking situation is horrible minimal spots.

Amazing food. Great environment with super friendly bartenders(they shake everyone’s hands when you come in and leave which I thought was cool). Food came out fast and was delicious. I only get to go when I visit friends in town but I always wanna hit up goodfriends every time I’m around. Their wings are amazing and the cheese fries are legit(get a ½ order… and consider adding chili). Great beer selection as well. Be wary of their spicy wings they are crazy hot and I like spicy.

Wow, the burger, waffle fries, revolver beer, and informative staff make for great experience. I had the chili burger that had cheese, chili, and string onion rings on it on a hand made bun. The waffle fries were hot and crisp and a nice cold beer. Definitely one of the best burger joints in the dfw area with others like uncle ubers, rodeo goat, Liberty, and maple and motors. If it is a nice day, the outside Patton is wonderful. Look forward to going back.

My hubby and I are doing the ‘Dallas Burger Tour’ — or in other words, we are trying the 21 best burgers in Dallas per D Magazine. Our third stop: Goodfriend. I have to say, I had high hopes for Goodfriend. Especially after seeing the mouth watering cheese fries and crazy burger combinations in the photos on Unilocal. We arrived to the restaurant and had to park down the street. They have parking out front but being a beautiful, patio weather day everyone flocked in the same direction. Luckily, we were seated fairly quickly at a table for two inside by the bar. Our waitress recommended doing a half order of the cheese fries. Glad she made that recommendation because we could not even finish the half order. They were drenched in cheese, bacon, green onions, blue cheese and jalapeños. These were good, but we’re pretty soggy because of the blue cheese. There was a lot of it, too. My hubby ordered the cheese burger with the fried ‘over easy egg’ on top. His egg was over hard and the burger was overcooked. He ordered it medium. The meat was dry and lacked flavoring. I ordered the burger with blue cheese and bacon mousse. I liked the toppings, but I had the same struggle. My burger was overcooked as well and was extremely dry. Our waitress came over halfway through our meal and asked how the food was. We told her it was ‘okay’ and she immediately questioned us. I shared that both of our burgers were overcooked. She looked shocked and said, ‘I’ll let them know.’ And walked away. For $ 11 a burger(without fries or a side), I expected something better. Our tab was $ 30 and we walked away feeling really disappointed. We probably won’t be back. There are so many great burger places that make a mean burger that I wouldn’t mind paying $ 11 for. D Magazine… Explain yourself.

I love it when the ambiance reminds you of Katy Trail Ice House. This place has a very similar demeanor. The fries were regular waffle fries – not quite sure why Thrillist had these guys under the«BESTFRIES» category. And the chili tasted like canned purina sautéed in pedigree sauce. Some might say«ok you had basic potatoes and dog food chili, why 4 stars?» THEBURGERS tasted like heaven on a plate. The freshness of the meat and quality of the brioche bun really brought the burger together; blending in the perfect harmony. The fresh, crisp bacon also brought a smile to my face! Give them a try – both burgers and brew.

Goodfriend is definitely the right name for this place. I’ve really enjoyed hanging out here with some good friends. One of my favorite beer gardens in the Metroplex. The outdoor area is pretty awesome almost all-year round. The beer selection is worth a visit alone. They have a lot of the local brews and always something good on draft since rotate beers in and out regularly. Well if you’re drinking, you need something to eat too. The burgers are delicious and there’s several on the menu. The Chin Strap — Burger topped with Amish bleu cheese, bacon mousse, and real bacon is one of my favors! And no matter what time it is go for the Morning Glory(white cheese, fried egg, and bacon). You can never go wrong with a sunny up egg on your burger! So with your burger and beer you have to have the Cheese Fries(shredded cheese, bleu cheese, and bacon) and you must get the ghost chile ranch for dipping! OMG! More beer! Awesome stuff! I’m sue you’ll enjoy yourself.

Let me preface, if I could give 2 ½ star, I would but that’s it. A friend and I recently visited and I was stoked to try their burger. I heard so many good things but I gotta say, it was a let down. I asked for a medium well(normally don’t go that high but I wanted more char) and it came out maybe med-rare. This isn’t the end of the world but not what I expected. In addition, the cheese and sautéed mushrooms were ok. It felt rushed. Maybe the cook had an off day. I’m a huge fan of waffle fries and they were good. My friend got the sweet potato waffles and they were legit. The horseradish pickles are fantastic. The beer selection was ok. I thought it could be a bit more robust. The service was good, thanks guys. Overall, it’s ok. I wouldn’t take a drive.

Saturday’s special was the venison burger! I don’t eat deer often but that venison was delicious! Gamey, richer, lean! Unfortunately that was my boyfriend burger so I got a couple bites. I ordered the chin up, which has blue cheese, creamy bacon sauce… My burger was good as well just too much blue cheese. As sides we had fried green beans and sweet potato fries, both good! They offer lots of different beers. I did like when we entered the restaurant, it was set up like a living room. Big tv, couches, chairs, coffee table. It feel very home like while we were waiting for a table.
