So I was having a bit of trouble deciding what kind of food I was in the mood for while driving down Cedar Springs, but as soon as I saw Axiom Sushi Lounge… I started feeling the sushi cravings bubbling up. If you’re not on the look out for this place, it’s relatively easy to miss since it’s in the middle of a really lively neighborhood! On a Sunday evening, I wasn’t expecting this place to be buzzing with activity, but there were lots of people taking advantage of the outdoor seating(and apparently Happy Hour? On a Sunday? Yeah, I’m coming back for that next time.) but we sat inside to have a quiet meal. The décor is very modern and almost makes you feel like you’re walking into a nice club. They have really beautiful lion fish mosaics on their walls AND on the ceilings, they have decorative glass bubbles that add to the sea theme. There’s a glass partition that separates the bar area from the sushi making part of the restaurant and it has a variety of wine bottles on display — very cool! Our server was quite attentive and gave us a few suggestions. We shared a seaweed salad(not worth 6 dollars because it was SO small, but tasty nonetheless) and then we shared the Shrimp Tempura roll, Louisiana Roll, and the Caterpillar Roll. The Shrimp Tempura and Caterpillar rolls were nothing out of the orindary, but good staples that you can rely on being good. I could tell that the eel and shrimp were freshly cooked and the eel sauce was spot on! The Louisiana roll had crab and crawfish in it and was topped with fish eggs and spicy mayo. This by far was my favorite of the night — you get such good flavor from the seafood and then at the very end of your bite, you taste the heat from the mayo — really delicious! The price was pretty standard for a nice sushi place like this and we got a good amount of sushi. I’d definitely like to come back here for Happy Hour — it’s in a great location and serves up some good sushi :)

Man, sushi axiom is popping up everywhere! Out of all the sushi axiom, I like this one the best. Their service seems a little more down to earth than the other places. Menu is still the same. No matter which location I go to, I always get the leaning tower of pisa. If you’re familiar with the Ahi tower at Blue Fish, its the exact same thing. The spicy tuna just not as finely minced. We had the snow white, too. I dont care much for it because the it didnt have any other flavor but vinegar. I wouldnt get that again. and we also had the Alaskan, that was delicious!

Lovely décor, think mosiac of tiger fish, and a decent sushi menu gets the party started with rolls ranging from $ 6 to $ 14. Recently opened, so expect a few hiccups — after pouring my wine, we bought a bottle, he took the glass away saying it was dirty then returned it in a glass that i could feel a layer of scum on the stem. But I was kept wondering how dirty that other glass was and how it was kind of gross that he just poured it into another glass. Big parties of pretty straight girls and typical stylish gay guys dominated the energy and airwaves. Bonus — the bar opens up to an outdoor patio right on cedar springs. Lunch specials My pick for best grub on the gay strip.

I frequent the Axiom in Forth Worth. This was my first time visiting another Axiom. They have definitely extended a great sense of style to all their restaurants. The food is typical of any high end sushi place. The live band was great.
