I had a similar experience to Jason G.‘s, except that I did get a response, not that it was particularly helpful. Getting the size I need turns out to be more trouble than it’s worth – I’d need to fill out one form to return the buttons I got, and start a brand new order to get the ones I need.

Ordered some buttons from this store online. They sent the wrong size. Tried to contact them to get the right size sent, but never heard back from them.

Okay — nice store with beautiful buttons. They do not carry more than 5 or 6 of each style. Also EXTREMELYPRICEY!!! You can get exact buttons online for ¼th the price. The workers are nice and knowledgeable, not sure it makes up for the 10X mark up!

I make a lot of men’s shirts. Finding appropriate buttons at the major retailers(JoAnns, Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, etc) is darn near impossible. They stock crafty/cute buttons great for kids and women’s garments. Or only carry one medium size, and none for the placket or button down collar. Formal buttons or something other than plastic? You are wasting your time in these stores. Men’s needs are ignored at these retailers. Enter Benno’s Buttons. Wood, mother of pearl, pewter … you name it, in multiple sizes. And yes, some shapes you didn’t expect. Take your fabrics with you, or bring matching buttons. Ask for help, you’ll need it, since their inventory is large.(And they are very nice.) Yes, you can order online. Make your favorite garments better, or finally match up that missing button from years ago.

5-stars just for having a store dedicated to buttons. I bought a secondhand sport coat and several of the mother of pearl buttons were cracked or missing. Benno’s was recommended by my tailor as a source for replacement buttons. They have a HUGE selection of styles and materials. The staff was very helpful in matching up my buttons. If you don’t like your buttons, change them! Note: Buttons are non-returnable so make sure you buy the right ones.

Bought a great looking jacket for 75% off, but the buttons were hideous! Went to Benno’s after finding them on the Internet. Found so many great buttons, I had a very difficult time making up my mind! The lady was very helpful. She pulled out about a dozen different buttons to help me get an idea of what they would look like on my jacket and between me, my friend that I dragged along, and the sales lady, we finally settled on just one style! You could look at nothing but buttons all day, they have so many. I gave them only four stars, because their buttons are pretty expensive, in my opinion. I paid $ 5.50 for each button. The buttons actually ended up costing me as much as the jacket did, but now it’s FABULOUS!!!

A whole store devoted to buttons? Yep, that’s Bennos. They were on Lovers Lane for years and years but moved to a larger location a while back. So you walk in and are surrounded by BUTTONS. Millions of them in every shape and size you could conjure in your most crazy dreams. Some cheap and some wildly expensive but all unique and interesting. They have great trims, ribbons and, seriously, you have to see it to believe it. Their staff is great and they know about every item in the shop. You will never buy a button at JoAnn Fabric again!
