Blitz Moped

I (t’s been 7 or so months and I’ve had a chance to experience their service and still wowed by these guys. I had a couple of minor issues — self inflicted wounds, plus routine maintenance and they were great. One of the issues they fixed @ no cost, got the part for free from the manufacturer and passed that along to me. The routine maintenance was done while I waited.
They’ve got a great inventory of both retro and more sporty/​modern looking scooters of all sizes/​engines and the guys are ultra helpful. We’re going to be back for another scooter so I don’t have to borrow my wife’s. It’s fun to drive; great for small errands — she takes it to her office on nice days.

Neal and Tony are the owners and are great guys with a lot of knowledge. Went there to rent a scooter and had an awesome time. They tell you where all the cool spots are to check out. Will revisit with friends the next time I’m in dallas.

Tony and Neil helped me immensely with the service and repair of my scooter. The service was excellent and both Tony and Neil contacted me when I left questions on voicemail. I’m very happy and I will be back.

Who calls a customer a B**CH, ZERO CLASS
I don’t even know where to begin with this very confusing, poorly handled situation that just happen to me. First I started off by calling the store ahead of time to find out if they even could do the repairs that I needed done to my moped. Everything was sounding awesome the head mechanic told me he could fix all the things I needed even gave me a estimate on the amount of money I was looking at spending. He told me to bring my moped to the store first thing Thursday morning when they «open» at 10:30 am. So I do just that, I show up a little after 10:30 ready to drop it off to get fix, super excited to finally get it repaired. As I pull up a man is starring me down outside the store, as soon as I park and turn off my moped he walks up to me and in a very rude and demanding sounding tone tells me they are closed today. I in a very nice but confusing tone tell him that I had spoken to someone two days ago about getting repairs and they told me to bring it in today at this time. He then snaps at me and tells me he is closed today because of the rain and he has things to-​do. At this point I just thought he was a regular employee and asked him to contact the head mechanic that I spoke to about this. I was at this point really taken back by how this person was treating me especially when I was looking to spend a lot of money on repairs. He told me he did not need to call the guy he is the owner of the store and then asked me what I was trying to get done I told him the same thing I told the person I spoke to on the phone he quickly cut me off and told me he cant do that work. I asked him why someone who works for him said they could and give a price estimate. He then tells me I am a B**CH and he will not be servicing my moped and to leave now. Obviously I left and thankfully after reading other reviews did not give my money to this person. I don’t normally write reviews even when I receive horrible service, but after this grown man called me a B**CH I just couldn’t sit back and not do something. Do not be fooled by the reviews that say this place is great. The owner most likely wrote it himself. I wont stoop to his level and call him rude names I will let Karma take its course for this place. But if that is how he thinks you should treat a customer I really don’t think this place will last much longer. Again just so taken back how I was treated the moment I pulled up. I had a friend follow me there so I could get a ride home and she watched the whole thing go down. And was just as confused as I was that a grown man who is a owner of a company would talk to a woman that way, and would just say I have things to-​do today that’s why im not open. Well glad I did not give this person my money.

Great place to buy a new moped. They will treat you right and they service what they sell. I bought a 2015 Lance Havana 150 and it’s a blast to drive.

Everything started great with these guys. From educating me on different scooters to taking my credit card was the best buying experience possible. But ever since I have purchased a PCC Valentine 150cc, the owner and head mechanic have been the biggest jerks.
I was originally sold on how they spoke of the quality of the scooter, but I’ve had nothing but problems with it. The front brake has never worked, constant metal to metal sounds at speeds under 20mph, and now the scooter doesn’t even start.
Don’t worry though, every time you call to explain the problem the owner will find a way to blame the problem on you and request you to pay an $ 80 service charge just for them to look at it.
I regret not spending more money at the vespa dealership in Dallas to get better quality and service.

HACK THIEF LIAR. Took my scooter and dropped it off there and was told I get a call in a week. Three weeks later I call and get some blah blah excuse why the didn’t call back. A week later they said it was ready. Noticed my right mirror was not on the scooter and he said that it wasn’t there and I didn’t drop it off.
LIAR it was under my seat. Why? because the hack stripped the threads of the mount and couldn’t screw the mirror in. Got the scooter on the road and noticed the blinkers along with tail and brake lights weren’t working. Why? Because the hack when working on the scooter disconnected the wiring harness and never reconnected it.
The scooter ran for maybe 25 minutes before it stopped running stranding me about 10 miles from where I live. Had a friend come and pick me up and got it home. Took it back to Shitz the next day and the hack said he wasn’t going to see why it had stopped running, didn’t want my business and no refund.
The bad reviews about Blitz scooters are there for reason. You should listen to each and everyone of them and DO NOT TAKE YOUR SCOOTER THERE.
I think SHITZ SCOOTERS would be a better name for the place.

Had a great experience. Got off to a rocky start, and Neal jumped through rings of fire to make us happy with our purchase. We recently bought two of their higher end scooters, the SYM Cali Classic 150. We looked at several models, spoke with Neal in detail about the differences and decided to spend twice as much on the nicer scooters. Blitz delivered them to my home in the burbs the same day.
One of the scooters had a faulty gasket from the manufacturer. The minute I called Neal to let him know were were having the issue he told me he would take care of it. And that he did. He got on the phone with the manufacturer and was relentless until they sent the part in over night. I had my scooter back the very next evening.
Neal is a class act. Really truly goes above and beyond for his customers. I will continue to do business with Blitz, because of Neal, and will send any of my friends and family to them as well.
By the way, if you are looking for a scooter you really want to enjoy and will be putting miles on, do yourself a favor and buy the SYM brand. They are fantastic! We are loving ours.

So I was hesitant to check this place out because reviews for repairs/​service were horrific online, and the Vespa dealer just has great customer service, but I came in regardless.
I came in knowing exactly what I wanted to look at, a Sym HD 200, which is listed as an offered model on their website. The first thing the sales person tried to do was tell me why I shouldn’t consider a 200cc bike over a 150cc. He indicated top speed would be about the same, but MPG would suffer, and started talking about how much more expensive liquid cooled engines are to repair. First of all, top speed on a 200cc is definitely more than a 150cc, and secondly, why try to talk someone out of the very bike that brought them in your store in the first place that you’re supposed to carry? Also, not all 200cc scooters are liquid cooled in the first place so that’s a lame argument.
He further stated that after he tells customers advantages of 150cc over 200cc, 9 out of 10 go with the 150cc. Well… stop giving customers biased, false advice and ya might sell more high end models.
What it boils down to is they are a small shop that specializes in 150cc scooters, and don’t stock parts or bikes for very much else. They don’t have a full time mechanic, and push what’s easiest for them to operate with a small inventory. I’d rather buy from a dealer that builds a business around customers needs, not their own conveniences.
The flaw in this business model is by not offering folks what they want, and historically not taking care of folks repair-​wise they will never grow the operation.
I’d rather pay more at another dealer and get unbiased input, better service and a better feeling that I’ll be taken care of in the long term.
Kudos though to having upfront OTD pricing on the bikes.

My husband and I bought a Freebird 150 from Blitz this past week. So far, so good! We looked around quite a bit but settled on the Puma Cycle and it’s price range. Neil was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. The day we finally bought, he serviced the scooter and we were ready to go in a couple of hours. I hope there won’t be any issues soon but if there are, I feel confident in Neil’s abilities to work on the scooter. Thanks guys!

Neal’s knowledge and experience was welcomed and refreshing
He first helped me workout a problem Over the phone.
He correctly identified the necessary parts and service to get my friends scooter back on the road.
With out his help we would have spent all day trying to get it started.
Neal was able to save us hours of guessing and had the right parts for us.
We were back on the road in record time and able to enjoy the day.

I bought a scooter recently while my car was in the shop since I didn’t know how long they would have my car. I called Blitz and same day walked away with a great scooter! They even stayed late so that I could pick it up that day and I couldn’t get off work before they closed.
SKip forward a few days later…
My boyfriend (who was totally against me getting a scooter) liked mine so much that we went and got him one a few days later. Again, they stayed late to set up his scooter. AND this was on FATHER’S DAY!
Wonderful experience, great customer service, and I would recommend anyone here who is interested in buying a scooter.

Now that we’ve had the little red scooter for a bit over a year, it was time to have a little maintenance done. I had noticed that every now and then some fuel would spill out from the engine area onto the pavement.
As it turned out, the problem was diagnosed to be a faulty float thingie in the carburetor. The carb was replaced, and now everything is right as rain again. I love riding the little red scooter around town and think it’s high time for a little scooter road trip. ;)

I live in Deep Ellum blocks away from this store and wanted to give my business to someone local. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. Their customer service is piss poor. They dont call with upadates. They had my scooter for a month and still were not able to get things fixed. The guys are full of excuses and only after calling them daily did they start to get some things done. I have had it and picked it up incomplete.

If you are on the lookout for a scooter, this is a good place to go. If you are on the lookout for scooter repair, this is the most frustrating place you will ever have a chance to work with. Not only do they make promises that they are guaranteed not to keep, but they even manage to make it out like it is your fault. You may try to account for their complete lack of professionalism and accountability by calling every other day to make sure that they have the part that they promised they would have in, to make sure that the appointment you had made a week before is still good (that you didn’t rearrange your day for nothing), you can hope that perhaps this time they actually will call you back unlike every other time, and you will still be shocked and surprised when they, without any apologies or basic customer service decency, will argue with you on the phone, cutting you off, making it sound like YOU are the one who doesn’t understand the natural order of things. And after all of this you might give these guys the benefit of the doubt, that this is a one time thing, and you will be surprised again!

If you want to buy or repair a moped without having any problem this is your place. I have two mopeds, i love them and whenever I need repair I go there because those guys are honest and they never overcharge

I just joined the amazing world of scootering. I bought a TaoTao CY50-​B vintage style scooter. Yes it’s Chinese, and you know what… leave me alone Vespa/​Lambretta driver, I love this scooter. When I’m not riding it, it’s all I think about. The dealer I bought it from is too far away from my house, so I looked up who would do maintenance on a Chinese scooter. When I typed in ‘scooters dallas texas’ into google, I found Blitz.
I needed an oil change so I drove the scooter down to Deep Ellum where the shop is, and when I pulled up to the door, the guy that owns it welcomed me inside. It’s a cool shop with glossed concrete floors, brick walls, and the scooters set up showroom style outside and in.
The mechanic, Trent, is an extremely knowledgable guy who is quick, honest and helps in any way he can. They let me go in the back where he fixes the bikes and he told me the pluses and minuses of my bike and what to expect at certain points of my journey of owning it. He even told me about a local all-​scooters-​accepted scooter club.
$ 20 for an oil change, another $ 15 for gear oil. Not bad in my book.
