Came recommended from some colleagues at my firm. Looked really great inside! Got there around 630. Informed by manager she had sent her stylists home already(they close at 8). Pissed I had to drive out there for no reason. Had to drive across town to find a Floyds to cut my hair.

I have been here now more than 10 times, but unfortunately they have such high turnover that its almost impossible to get a decent stylist. The last three stylists I went to here have all left within a month or two of me going to them. The last person who cut my hair(and my son’s) was absolutely horrible. She botched his hair so bad we had to go to another salon(that’s saying something for a 13 year). When she did my hair, it was all uneven and choppy. Until they improve the management, avoid this place like the plague.

Talk about rude… called to make«foot grooming» appt. for my husband and was on hold for 7 minutes. Hung up and called back, they picked up the phone and hung up. Called back again and went into voice mail. Really… they can’t be that busy! He’ll be going somewhere else.

I have been coming here for over a year now. I am one of those loyal customers that when I find someone to cut my hair and the experience is good, I rarely ever change. In fact, I’ve only had 4 other people cut my hair. I called up without any recommendation and was scheduled with Chaye. Not only has the haircut been great each month, she has basically become a friend. The boardroom is a great place to get a haircut and if you’re a dude, it is kind of like going to a spa for men. Free beer, sports on TV and so on. I am moving to New York but have to travel back regularly so I will schedule my appointments for those times.

Was extremely disappointed with my first experience at the boardroom. When you pay that kind of money, high expectations are in place, and the boardroom fell way short of those expectations. I waited 15 minutes past my appointment time which I’m not used to, but this was made more bearable by a comfy leather recliner and a shiner bock. Was escorted back to my haircut by a dude(have to say I prefer a woman’s touch) who happened to also be the barber doing my shave. It seemed as if cutting hair was just something he learned how to do by watching others. The cut was haphazard and was definitely something I could have gotten for a 1⁄3 of the price at supercuts. Ive got the patchy mullet to prove it. The shave was better but again it seemed like my guy excelled at the things that take no skill which was laying the hot/cold towels and rubbing lotion on my face. I didn’t have any major injuries from the shave(actually a big plus for me, as I was a little nervous) but again it just seemed haphazard and I went home and noticed a couple of small spots that he missed. Inexcusable for a $ 55 service. Also, personal preference but I found the music to be a little annoying and loud for a place that’s supposed to be a relaxing/pampering experience. I get it. You’re paying for the experience. But you have to do more than just pluck amateurs off the street to cut/shave

This morning, my husband headed out for his hair appointment. 30 minutes later I get a call from a very frustrated husband whose appointment disappeared into thin air. This is the second time this has happened. The 3 stars are solely for the scheduling from the front desk. I understand mistakes happen, but twice in a row to the same customer with the same issue suggests this is not out of the ordinary. I work in a spa, mistakes happen, I suggest you catch this one before it turns into a habit. Cut out the scheduling errors, and this would’ve been a 5 star review. By the way, Kara(his stylist) is awesome. This review is by no means a review of Kara’s skills. She goes above and beyond for ensuring appt times, something she shouldn’t have to do.

I was in town for a wedding and the groom had the nice idea of having all the groomsmen to the boardroom for hot shaves beforehand. Unfortunately, the staff never showed up, leaving 11 of us(including the groom, his father, and the father of the bride) standing around in the parking lot scratching our heads on the morning of the wedding.

While the staff was friendly, they were not very well informed. After waiting thirty minutes passed our appointment the receptionist had no explanation for the delay. The salon is beautifully decorated but the music is some 80’s adult mix that does not fit the décor.

I went back in for a hot shave and haircut after having she trouble getting an appointment scheduled and can say the barber they have working was top notch. A shot shave is a guilty pleasure of mine but it is a lost art and to find s barber who can do it and do it well is a real challenge. The boardroom has one on staff and I HIGHLY recommend him. If you have never gotten one — do yourself a favor and try one!

This is the ultimate for men… complimentary beer when you arrive, friendly female staff. They have a full menu of services and even a pool table in the middle of the room. I have been here a few times, I have to say it is by far a great experience. I think if you are looking for quick, no frills… stick to supercuts… otherwise, try this place out.

Desperate for a trim & cut while on a business trip to Dallas, I decided to forego the usual salon franchises and book an appointment at «The Boardroom Salon for Men.» Making the appointment was painless, but«The Boardroom» exemplifies those services-based businesses that focus too much on image and too little on substance… For starters, I question why any salon(men’s or women’s) would have library-style lighting, making it difficult for both the customer and the stylist to visualize while work is in progress. It wasn’t any surprise, then, why I had to ask my stylist to touch up and properly fade the sides not once, but twice. So much for the precision cut I was expecting for the premium price. After my wash & cut I asked if I could get a quick wax hair removal on the ears — I’m sad to report it’s become a regular part of my grooming routine :) I was soon led to one of the treatment rooms in the back by someone who I figured was a beauty tech with some degree of experience until she asked, «where on your ears do you want waxed?» Fellow Unilocalers, my ears aren’t the smallest in the world, but there’s not exactly much real estate(or hair) to cover there, so you can understand the look of apprehension on my face. Word to the wise: if traveling through Dallas and looking for a proper gentleman’s grooming salon, keep looking past«The Boardroom.»
