Had a couple of hours to kill at the airport and needed some breakfast. The Heuvos Laredo was the perfect amount of food: scambled eggs(looked like 2 eggs worth), refried beans, breakfast potatoes, and pico de gio. What really made the dish wonderful though was the homemade salsa that came with it. Very good salsa. A little bit smokey and not overly spicy.

I guess«modern Mexican» which is on the outside of the bag means«microwave.» Ordered the cheese enchiladas and the sauce tasted like hot chili and the tortilla was tough as if it was microwaved. A $ 22.00 meal that I wish I had never purchased. Gross…

Not good. I have eaten here a few times hoping that it will get better. NO. This place makes serious coin since it is in an airport. Never again. Make better food owner!

With the slim offering of food anywhere in the tiny Love Airport in Dallas just be glad this is here. And have your wallet ready. It ain’t cheap. Is it just me or is anyone else tired of the price gouging of fliers when it comes to airport food? This chain has restaurants all over Texas and the sit down prices are not this high at any of them. So why so high here?

4th star is missing because they only have plastic utensils here. It kind of catches you off guard to go to a restaurant, wait to be seated and then be presented with plastic ware. I remember feeling instantly turned off in my mind. But convinced by my traveling peer, we stayed and enjoyed possibly the best chicken tortilla soup ever. It was actually more brothy than creamy which was unusual and had a real nice level of jalapeño spice kick to it. Once you get over the the fork/spoon tackiness, it’s worth it.

If you’re going to get sit-down service in an airport, one can do better than sit-down service at Cantina Laredo. The host stood with her back to me and had to be physically moved by a server in order to greet me and offer me a table. My server was well-intentioned, but when he asked me what I wanted to order while standing at another table where he was serving an already-eating guest was just bad form. Well, it’s bad form if you do it once. It’s horrible form if it’s all you do. And don’t be racist — I ordered my dish(The Laredo) and the server said«It’s spicy, is that OK?» And I said«Of course.» When the Latino guy near me and the Pakistani guy across from me ordered it, that question wasn’t asked. Apparently us whiteys have problems with spiciness. The food was also so-so. For«gourmet» Mexican, you need to do more than serve it on pretty plates. The chicken breast was well done, but there was so much sauce on it I couldn’t see it. The promise of artichoke hearts in with the peppers and other vegetables served with The Laredo was good, and why there are two stars here instead of one. The rice was — well, skip it. I’ll try another of the several other places in Terminal D next time I dine at DFW.
