Don’t know what’s up with the two star reviews! LOVE this place. It’s booze! It’s relatively cheap. It’s convenient! Good selections and decent prices. Loss of star only because they close early. I hate TX’s whacky booze laws.

If you live in Dallas you know that the place to get the best bargains on beer/wine/liquor would be Goody Goody and not Centennial. Centennial for the most part has always been a bit higher. The only reason why I shop at Centennial is because they have a Joseph Phelps red wine called Innisfree wine. This wine is a cabernet sauvignon and is made from the same kind of grapes as the $ 200 bottles that Joseph Phelps sells. It has a wonderful aroma, great flavor and is not super cheap at $ 25 a bottle but worth the price and is much better than paying the $ 200 for a Joseph Phelps main label. I don’t know of any other liquor store in the state of Texas that is allowed to sell Innisfree. I think they have some sort of exclusive thing with the vineyard. Centennial used to allow a discount if you bought wine by the case. Now they have a new loyalty card type program where you get discounts only on alcohol that is labeled with a special label. Of course Innisfree does not have such a discount label. The girl at the counter told me that she wasn’t aware of them offering a discount on the cases anymore which if that is true is really annoying. This location is in a very busy area and the store is small so be aware that some things may go out of stock. Unless you are like me and looking for something specific that only they have you can find larger more affordable liquor stores in the area.

One of my friends was telling me about how she had a Colorado Bulldog over the weekend. Basically a white russian with a splash of coke, and it tastes like a coke float. That was enough for me to want to try this bad boy out! This centennial is the closest liquor store to my work, so I decided to swing by to pick up some vodka. The parking lot looks shady, and well, the whole place looks shady. I normally shop at Siegel’s where it is bright and clean looking. Upon entering you will reach the wine section first. I didn’t really have time to peruse, as I just wanted a quick stop. Headed to the back, left wall for vodka. It is a smaller store, so a smaller variety can be expected. But jeez. Firefly sweet tea vodka was out, skyy unflavored vodka was out. Also, I thought prices were a bit more expensive than they would be at Siegels. This might be a personal gripe, but I was not carded when I went to pay. WTF! Really? Don’t you have to look really OLD for that to happen?! Next time I need to pick up some liquor on the fly, I may skip this place and just head to my usual. The extra distance is worth the lower prices, bigger selection, and a seemingly safer store.
