Was visiting Dallas with my girlfriend over memorial day weekend… we were expecting to eat some delicious Korean food in King’s Spa, but unfortunately their kitchen was experiencing some technical difficulty that caused them to shut down for the rest of the night. So after a detox(as i like to call it), we ventured out and discovered this place. Like expected of an authentic Korean restaurant, they started out by bringing an array of appetizing small dishes that opened up my appetite like a black hole. My girlfriend ordered a Bo Sam(usually a meal for two) and then I ordered a Gal Bi Tang on top of that. To my pleasant surprise, they even added raw oysters on top of the kimchi in the Bo Sam! The Korean restaurants in Chicago don’t do that! The portion was insane! Definitely a lot more than expected. The food was delicious and very pleasing when combined with a couple glasses of Hite(Korean beer). To say that this is the perfect ending after spa and sweating in King Spa is an understatement! This makes me wish I can move to Dallas!

First place we tried after landing. Bun di Ji gae — broth wasn’t authentic, weird tasting actually. My sister’s Korean roommate said it didn’t taste right either, maybe tasted like kim chi? Rice cakes duk bok ki — really too sweet, little spicy Fried rice — over powering sesame oil flavor Seafood pancake — normal, wished it was crisp Galbi — good but sort of pricey for not much given I loved that they serve purple sweet rice, I haven’t had it in a while.

Love the food here, especially their side dishes. Always come for some galbi, and teokbokki. They also have good soup and pancake. Not much for customer service, not to mention that sometines you have to try to get the servers attention(to get some water or side dishes refilled). Overall, this is one of my go to places.

I really wanted to try this place, but when we got there, the wait staff wasn’t very accommodating because we had a toddler and a baby in a carseat. The place is small and they wouldn’t seat us at the empty table in the back bc they said a high chair would block the walkway. That table was the very last table by the walkway to the restroom and it was the widest part of the entire restaurant. Even with a high chair, the walkway would even out with the rest of the seating area in front of it. A booth table left while we were standing there and no one said anything. The staff didn’t want to deal with us or tell us what they were going to do so we left. Rude and didn’t care to serve us so we took our $ to Koryo Kalbi.

I came here with a friend around 9:00PM and was surprised to see how busy it was. Many larger groups and families were here; they have huge portions, so I don’t think I’d come by myself. We ordered doe ji bo sam(pork belly) for $ 31 and soondubu jjigae(tofu soup) for $ 9(?). They serve the pork belly with kimchi oyster salad, soft cabbage, garlic, and jalapenos. I’m not sure they offer it, but I would kill if the kimchi oyster concoction was it’s own menu item. Raw oysters are my jam! Loved this. Tofu soup was good, but not as memorable as the pork belly. It feels lighter, so maybe I’ll opt for this on my healthier days. Banchans are delicious, notably the fish cakes, clear noodles, and cuddlefish. They’re bottomless, so eat to your heart’s content. We packed our favorites in the togo box, too. We definitely ordered too much for 2 people. That meal probably could’ve satisfied 3 or 4 people. It came out to be around $ 43ish before tip. Can’t wait to go back!

Good food, nice cozy place. It is like a family home cooking in a busy city. They open late in the evening and stay open until 2:00. I think the last customer they take in around 1:30am. Their banchans are good. Very good. I like fosh cake, steamed eggs, glass noodles and potatoes. For the main dish, bossam is a must-try. Their kimchi with fresh oyster to serve with bossam is the bomb. The portion is huge, worth with $ 30 for the price. Their spicy stir-fried is good as well. I usually get the small octopus stir-fired with spicy sauce. The season is well-done and it is kinda garlicky, which is really good. Overall, I’ve never been disappointed when I come here.

The food here is good, but unfortunately now that it’s not open as late anymore a lot of the appeal is gone.

This place is pretty small. The workers are super friendly & nice. The food came out really fast. This place is like a family style so bring at least 3 – 4 people’s to eat with you. The prices are pretty expensive. The Galbi was good but it was 19.99 and I felt like it wasn’t much but was expensive. The pig feet was $ 29.99 and the seafood pancake was around $ 12.99 I think. We paid around $ 80 for those three meal for 4 people’s. I think their pig feet is a traditional meal that it’s good but it’s cold! I really did not know it would come out cold. The side dishes were good and something a little different than most places. I enjoyed their purple sweet rice. Overall, it’s a decent Korean family style restaurant.

Missing out on Korean food — Group of us decided to check this hole in the wall/plaza out! BOMB~~~!!! Everything was DELISH! Their portions are NOJOKE!(I believe the waitress the worried that we ordered too much… but we killed it!) The seafood stew was off the chain! Perfect spice! The Bot Saam was literally«thumbs up!» Def will be back when back in town~!

Sorry i have to say this but it didn’t live up to my expectations the second time here. Its been ten years since i came back. Galbi was good, just too expensive for the portion. Spicy pork is not worth getting and the mackeral was bland and fried not grilled.

Came in tonight with my shuttle driver and ordered to-go only. Really appreciate the owner packed all the side dishes for me and my shuttle driver. And the food is great!

I have been going to this korean spot now for about ten years — and it’s because it is the best korean food i have ever tasted! And they’re open until 3am! Now don’t think i only love this place when i have alcohol in my system and i don’t feel like eating Whataburger late at night — I’ve also gone here at 5pm, and the food is still delicious! The best part is that it’s owned by this korean couple and so you’re also supporting a local business! My usual go-to when i go are the kalbi(beef ribs), bulgogi(marinated beef), dumpling soup, and kimchi fried rice. One of my favorite things about this place is the awesome selection of panchans(small, tapa-like appetizers they bring out before your entrée). They give you 9 different dishes and can vary from kim chi, egg soufflé, fried fish squares, anchovies, etc. You can actually get full from just eating those things! Lol My other favorite foods include japchae(korean rice noodles), seafood pancake, and pork belly(they bring out a small hibachi-like device and you cook the pork belly yourself and wrap it in lettuce and eat it like a taco). Parking is plentiful and the staff are super nice(they speak mostly Korean but are able to understand a bit of English). It’s kind of hard to find initially as it is situated in a corner of a strip mall, and there are also other korean restaurants in the area. But as long as you look for the name, then you’ll know you’re at the right place!

Loved the food, and service was also good. We ordered the spicy pork, seafood pancake, tofu soup, and brisket you cook on the grill. There were only 4 of us, so this was WAY too much food! We could have easily just shared the brisket«for 2» and been good, because they bring you lots of sides(something like 16!) and rice. Our table would not fit all the food! Everything was so delicious though, we had no regrets and lots of leftovers the next day. The feast was $ 80, but if we ordered right it easily could have been around $ 10 per person.

It’s the 2nd time that my boyfriend and I have tried this spot out. When you first walk in, the aroma of delicious Korean good fills the atmosphere. But — the portions are disappointing overall. I recommend not ordering the galbi tang. My bowl was full of egg, vsoup base, and 2 pieces of meat. The fried squid wasn’t so bad but again portions were unexpectedly small for price. If anyone has any recommendations on what to get here, I’d love to here it. Service was nice and place was decent. I just wish the food was up to par

Went last night in search of soup. Found this cute little spot the sides were so delicious. My spicy tofu was good and the purple rice was yummy. Another plus they open late so I’m sure will try this place again.

Love it here! Everything is delicious! Spicy tofu soup, da buki, fried rice, pancake, purple rice, galbi, and most importantly the awesome variety of their side dishes! A+ service every time and never have to wait long for our food.

We decided to come here instead of dungsunsa cause this place actually gives out side dishes and who doesn’t love side dishes?! The side dishes had a lot of variety and they were all yummy. I ordered the spicy rice cake and it was one of the best ones I’ve had. They put a lot of fish cake in there and the rice cake itself was cooked perfectly. Also there was noodles! Most places don’t put that. My friend got the short ribs, those were good too but tastes like how any other short ribs would taste. The workers are very nice also which is always a plus.

I went here on a late-night craving when my Korean-American friend introduced me to it. I loved the potato and pork bone broth(huge serving; feeds 3 – 4 easily) plus their generous, quality sides. With opening hours until 2AM and a cozy space to sit and eat, this Korean restaurant is probably one of my favorites now! I’ll be back to try their other soups/stews.

This is a great place for some legit korean food, especially if you’re just craving something hearty and delicious! The storefront is really nondescript(name is in all korean, sign not lit well), so Unilocal photos of the front are helpful. I’ve tried a few dishes here – the jok bal, the gamjatang, the seafood pancake, and the kimchi fried rice. A lot of their dishes on the menu were meant to be ordered family style, so they’re huge portions for somewhere between $ 20-$ 30. Plus, this place gives you tons of side dishes and purple rice! Love. The first time I came with Tracy R., we shared the gamjatang, or potato and pork bone soup. The soup was really delicious, especially with rice. I didn’t like the veggie inside(apparently parilla?), which was really fibrous and herby, but it’s supposed to be in the traditional dish. The second time I was here, our table got jok bal, seafood pancake, kimchi fried rice, and a type of stew that I don’t remember the name of. The jok bal was soo delicious – very well seasoned and chewy. The seafood pancake was one of the best I’ve had in the Dallas area, and the kimchi fried rice was yummy as well. I’d recommend coming with at least a party of 4 so that you can order/share a few different things. Definitely a wonderful place for a dinner with friends!

Little hole in the wall that tastes like the motherland(not that I really know but its home cooking at its greatest) Service: –English is not their forte, be prepared to point and nod. If you’re one of those peeps that asks what’s good, be prepared to receive maximum confusion faces –Quick service Pricing: –Average, if you over eat like I do(3 huge dishes for 3 people, $ 59 total before tax and tip) Food: –Maximum delicious: pork feet, la galbi, broiled pork, all stews and soups –Just OK: All the pancakes(too mushy, no crispiness), fried rices(too oily) –Love: that they have Barley water(iced) –Above and beyond: all the little side dishes. I said above and beyond because there are so many, they are done in-house, so tasty, and $free.99 Extra: –You can wiggle to the music that is blasting thru the wall connected to the karaōke bar.

Authentic Korean fare for a very reasonable price, and they’re open super late! We ordered enough food for 6 people and the bill was only $ 65! It’s a good place to take adventurous, food-enthusiast friends who are new to Korean food. It’s also a good place to get a satisfy a craving for Korean food. I like this place because it’s a good balance of service, taste, price, and atmosphere. However, if you’re looking for amazing Korean food and you don’t care so much about the price, service or atmosphere, you might be a little disappointed.

My first time here after a long day at work. Miss mom’s cooking. I gave this place a try. Its like a little hole in the wall with a real home cooked meal feeling. I will definitely try this place again to see if I get the same feeling. Well worth to at least to try once.

I only come here for the(steamed sea toad) dish. It never fails. Other restaurants just have an overload of bean sprouts but this has more of the sea toad in it. Not a big restaurant with one or two waiters/waitresses. Night time can get very pact but I can’t blame them.

If you’re looking for good Korean food, you have to try this place. At first sight the small restaurant seems very simple but the food is awesome. Also they close late, another reason to try it on a weekend or a late dinner.

Walking in, the first thing you smell is all things fermented — that was my clue that this place was going to be GOOD. It’s small — with huge booths all around, a bit awkward in such a small spot but who cares, right? I got the Kimchi Jigae(spicy soup w/kimchi and pork) and my gal pal got the Mandu Guk(dumpling soup). My kimchi jigae was perfectly spicy with bits of tofu, kimchi and fatty pork swimming in the red broth — just the way I like it. The mandu guk’s broth was light and refreshing and the dumplings were huge and beefy! YUM! They gave us an array of banchan to go with our meal and I also got a side of their purple rice! We got there around 9PM — I guess right before the crowds showed up?! When we left around 10:30PM — the place was packed with a line of guests waiting for booths to clear! So I’m guessing this place isn’t a secret! Good spot — will definitely be back!

Best Korean restaurant in Dallas! I love it here for so many reasons. The food here is magnificent. Tasty, yummy, and delicious are what I can think up to tell u. Kimchi Fried Rice is the best, spicy tofu soup is great as well. I mean EVERYTHINGHEREISJUSTSOGOOD! Talking about service. Even though there are only 2 people working in the front, but they are amazingly professional. They make me feel so welcome anytime I come here. 5 stars 5 stars! ! !

Hands down, this is my FAVORITE korean restaurant. I’ve been coming here for about 2 years now & this place never fails :) They have GREAT ban-chan(side dishes), I literally love just about each and every one of em. At most Korean Restaurants, I could care less for their side dishes because they aren’t that good to me, but Dal Dong Nae kills it !!! The staff(owners?) are super friendly as well.

This place became my regular spot. Especially after King Spa, I just can’t pass this place. I tried a new dish from this place. «CHICKENFEET» I know I know… you all think«WTF! there is no meat & nothing to eat!!» Well, all you need to do is try it. Keep in mind, I love spicy food so I normally ask to make mine a little more spicy than normal. This is how you eat chicken feet! 1. You have to cool it off before you grab a chicken foot.(it’s very hot. If you can grab it by chopsticks, go for it) 2. You can bite off one toe at a time or first joint of 4 toes or maybe two toes, etc. Just don’t put whole foot in your mouth because #3& #4. 3. You can’t start to chew cause you have to pick out small bones. It will take some time to spit out bones & actually enjoy the feet. 4. Technique of moving chicken joints around your mouth & use your tongue to sort the bone and the gelatin Haha I can just picture the readers’ face! I think Korean style chicken feet is far better than Chinese style chicken feet dish. It has very good flavor(sauce) & little spice for those who can’t handle spicy korean food. I order a small size but it was enough for next day. It has very good flavor & it’s spicy! Now, I am planning to go have some more of that chicken feet dish this weekend!
