I love all of the branches of the Dallas Public Library, and Preston Royal is no exception. This is one of the smaller branches, just one floor, a little ranch-style building, but it’s full to the brim with shelves upon shelves of books, as well as several stations for computers, and dotted with little tables adorned with colorful displays carefully put together by the awesome librarians at this branch. And the librarians are awesome – and super helpful! I couldn’t find the book I was looking for and the librarian found it in a flash, all while smiling and chatting with me. I’m a big fan of libraries in general, and I have yet to find a branch of the Dallas Public Library that has disappointed me. From the materials available to check out to the multitude of programs(for kids, teens and adults) offered here, the neighborhood is lucky to have this gem.

This library has fantastic programs and is in a great location. I personally enjoy the opportunity to learn a new language(spanish/french) and am hoping to one day check out the ongoing knitting club. They also offer a book club. For toddlers/pre-k crowd, they offer a story/craft time on Tuesday’s that is phenomenal. The library is clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful. They also have plenty of parking in the side and rear.

One of the nicer libraries in my area. They offer a larger selection of books then other locations closer to me. The librarians are extra nice at this location and they always are willing to hold books for extended periods of time. I enjoy the quiet spaces that are tucked away in this location you are really spread apart from other people so you can fully engage yourself in reading. This location can get crazy with the soccer moms and kids running around like a pack of wild arse animals. This location offers kids story time but must have forgot to lock the door they let some wild young ones out so they could act a fool. Oh well I guess at that age that’s the way they are enjoying the library. I guess next time I will bring some ear plugs so I can really zone out and enjoy a great book. They also have a pretty darn good movie collection it is dated but hey it’s free.
