There are nude velvet paintings on the wall and the furniture has seen better days, but these peculiarities make the vibe. One thing that is unusual is that the venue is in a separate building from the main bar, so you don’t have to pass on going here if there is a show. I strongly like their drinks. Their stuff are very nice. Want to return here again and again.

We stopped in for a pre concert drink. They had Friendly service and Lots to look at. I would come back.

My favourite place because: diverse mixture of folks — you are able to go indoors for smokey, silent pub time, you can relax outside with fun-loving hippies or hipsters, or you’ll be able to go upon the solution to take a look at an indie, punk, or metal show.

Stopped by here on the second stop for a UYE. First I wasn’t sure if it was gonna be a suit and tie type of joint but when I stepped inside, it was a dive all the way! Yassssss!!! * puts my hoodie back on*. What’s not to like about this place? Dark, laid back, cool music, a row of toliets in the back patio with a mural behind them. I ordered, a rum and coke, Jack and Coke, vodka cranberry, hurritang and a Yoo-hoo yew haw and all had the right blend of alcohol. There was a dj that came in and started mixing on this night which was cool and gave me a chance to do a little Bobby brown dance right quick. Laid back crowd and my type of vibe. I will be returning next time I’m in the Big D fasho!

After hearing about this place, I was excited to stop in for a pre-concert drink when in Deep Ellum. It did not disappoint. It has a kitchsy charm that brings you back to a 70s trailer park. The décor is eclectic… love the decorative toilets in the courtyard. The music was awesome and the service great. We had their signature drink, the yoohoo yeehaw and they were surprisingly good. Who would have thought about making a drink from yoohoo?! Looking forward to my next visit!

This was picked by a couple friends in town from Michigan. They thought the concept was hilarious. Which it is, but after reading the reviews for it I was equally as curious to check it out for myself. It was much smaller inside than I had envisioned. Came here around 6 on Saturday. Only a couple patrons at the bar. I ordered a beer and I also tried the Old Timer(similar to an old fashioned) It was strong and tangy. All drinks pretty much around $ 6. Décor reminds me very much of Forest Room in Denver. Strange taxidermy covers the walls. Dark dim lighting and kind of grungy feeling but it’s all part of the experience so you enjoy it. There was a girl doing nails in the corner. The patio was cool. I was obsessed with the cactus potted into toilets along the wall that greets you when you go outside. Boone Farm and Tang drinks? Super fun! It’s one of a kind, and if you’re in Deep Ellum you should definitely stop in and try a drink or 2.

Love this place. Frozen yoohoo yeehaw(yoo-hoo with vanilla vodka) is delicious. Grandma’s living room décor, staff is very nice, great patio with toilets to sit on. It’s a fun place and great divey atmosphere.

Came here the other night, the place wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought it would be bigger like the truck yard. We tried a couple of their cocktails; the yoohoo yeehaw — our favourite, 2 and your pretty good. The hurri-tang and the twisted tang. The hurri-tang being the best of the two. Not much seating, a bar top inside and about 5 patio tables outside. Get the yoohoo

You could feel Double Wides pulse from the street even on a Sunday night at midnight. The ramshackle fenced in dirt courtyard, dimly lit with a string of Christmas lights like a punk rock carnival was full of an edgier young street fashionable crowd some dancing to some old Missy Ellliot, some chatting in small groups with a playful enthusiasm more in tune with the more artful Dallas, with not a hint of its vacuous plastic-world identity. The infamous frozen alcoholic chocolate Yahoo drink was a friendly $ 3, the red wine in a single serve bottle a surprising $ 3.75. We surveyed the handsome boys under grafittied walls with the idea we should have come earlier. The bathroom signs«Bud» and«sissy» made me remember the cute and distinct trailer park bar theme which was an irrelevant gimmick with the whimsical vibe and raw energy that night. Before we new it, it was last call. A cute Hispanic skater boy motioned to a pink box from Hypnotic with a donut in hand, «get them before they’re gone!» Live music Bring ID, they card everyone. Look for the tornado overhead, in Expo Park. Check website for nightly events. Don’t be afraid to get a little dirty.

It’s always double the fun at Double Wide. One of the best dives I’ve been. It was Memorial Day weekend and they were having a pool party at the parking lot with. Food truck and a trailer for quick tatts. Dj playing music in the background and people from different walks of life just coming and going. Definitely a great hangout place.

I love me some double wide! From the trailer-chic décor, to their Tang drinks. The place is located in an awkward spot, pretty close from Fair Park. The parking is limited and the inside space is limited as well. This place is perfect for sitting in the patio on a beautiful day because the inside inly has 1 table and the seating in the bar. Their prices are reasonable and their signature drinks are delicious! I tried the Hurritang and the Twisted Tang, both super refreshing. The crowd is very mixed and the bartender super friendly. Check them out during happy hr, it’s not crowded and their specials are pretty good.

Among my favorite dives in Dallas, even if it’s intentionally so, the Double Wide serves an eclectic customer base and strong inexpensive drinks in a kitch-adorned trailer park-themed environment. You’ll see people having fun here, no matter whether they’re hipsters, 20, 30 and 40-something yuppies, Deep Ellum, Exposition Park and East Dallas residents, cowboy hat-clad Willie Nelson lovers, tatted Betty Page wannabes, Gap girls, IT guys… You name it. Ugly heavy curtains, fake wood panelled walls, dark oranges and browns, taxidermy animal heads on the walls and textured & colored glass light fixtures with black wrought iron accents allude to the house you grew up in(or maybe your grandma’s house, if you were born later than the early ‘80s). There is a vintage cigarette vending machine, completely stocked with American Spirits and Marlboros. The outdoor patio area is like a fenced in back yard that makes you feel like you’re visiting your uncle’s salvage yard. Tires and spray paint provide the decoration. Old out-of-commission toilets provide the seating. If you need a functioning toilet though, the restrooms are clean enough with lots of grafitti to entertain you. The back portion of the bar is a live music venue with plenty of great local acts to please your ears. The front of the house has different theme nights as well, including Karaōke nights. There are some great singers there, but you won’t get booed off the stage if you have a voice made for visual arts who wants to musically express your vodka-fueled self anyway. Audience participation in the form of dancing and singing along frequently ensues and is highly encouraged. Don’t come here unless you have a sense of humor and you don’t mind hanging with a combination of social stereotypes. You won’t be treated like you’re something special here, because you aren’t, and that’s why the Double Wide is.

Really fun atmosphere and décor. This place is big too, not crammed like the single wide. I would go here again, but the people weren’t as friendly as the people at the single wide. its a bar though, its a must for bar hopping if you’re in the area.

The Double Wide is populated with an interesting crowd of young(20s) hard core hipsters(lots of tattoos, a punk rock edge, throw back Daddy-os and Mary Janes). There is a really unique flavor and atmosphere to the place. Strong pours at the bar. A great mixture of patio, indoor, and music venue spaces. A great place to venture out to see the local wildlife. Good fun.

Total hole in the wall. Great drink specials. Sophie(dog) was accepted by all. Cold beer, interesting music, nice people, cool bartender. Great outdoor space with very interesting décor. My first time here and I’ll be back… Walking distance from my best friends house. Only downside, limited seating outside.

It really feels weird to type this out, but I think that I prefer the Single Wide to the Double Wide. Maybe it’s the size or the layout, but I prefer the Single. With that out of the way, let me say that the drinks here are amazing. Parking? A whole other thing, but the drinks are the type of low grade, dive bar exploitation awesomeness that you will come to expect from the type crowds that flood this gem at the end of Deep Ellum and Expo Park. I will say that the stage here is pretty great if there’s a local band that you want to check out. There’s a bar right there and you can e-cig your ass off inside that little offshoot building nextdoor. Very recommended. 7.5÷10. Would booze again if I could find a god damn parking spot.

New favorite«dive» bar! This place is what Deep Ellum used to be full of! Great music spinning, colorful bartender pouring generous, and all kinds of folks just gettin’ along! The décor is graffiti chic and sort of reminds you of a country junkyard. They have specialty drinks for cheap prices that won’t leave you crying in your beer. The atmosphere is laid back and a great place to chill. I met the coolest people there and that made the experience that much better. This will be one of my spots from now on!

The bartenders are great. The regulars are great. It’s a great small place to catch a band. This is another one of those bars to take newbies to. It’s just such a fun bar that has a great personality. Just go and see for yourself!
