Great drink prices, free parking and plenty of seating. Could use a little tightening up but overall a decent place!

I booked a show with this venue. NEVERBOOK A SHOWWITHTHISVENUE. The door guy didn’t do his job and I was shorted money. I asked the GM to give me $ 20 in lieu of the mess up and he said no. Also — the sound sucks, the bar staff sucks, they only have 2 DIs, no drink tickets, the booking people are rude, and just pass on the whole place. HARDPASS

Decent little bar tucked away in Fair Park area. They always have specials on PBR it seems. Live music and a good patio.

A dive bar with a decent stage for shows, plenty of TV’s to watch the games, a pool table and full drink selection. Lots of free parking to boot. Snobs may complain at the lack of food but that is not why you come to a bar like this. Go farther into Deep Ellum or Uptown if you’d like nice food with your $ 12 cocktails. This is chillout, watering hole plain and simple and at that it succeeds.

The website suggests they serve food but the only food they have was purchased from walmart and sits in a freezer that you have to cook yourself in a microwave. This is the most trashy thing i’ve ever seen in a bar. The drinks are not great but they get the job done. The place is small and not very attractive. I came here for a Bernie Sanders debate watching party and i hope to never come back. lol

I had a great time here on a Monday evening. It is definitely a «drive by and miss the place» kind of joint, which is what makes it all the more cool! It has a great sound/stage setup, making open mic night a fun musical experience. The drinks are poured by a no-frills bartender who looks at you funny when you ask for a Lemondrop(my mother wanted it, not me). Nonetheless, this place is a lot of fun, and the musical acts are very talented. I’m only giving it three stars because the crowd was very sparse, leaving much to be desired in terms of a social experience. I cannot wait to go back on a later day in the week and see how much that changes!

New place under i30 and Exposition. Cool atmosphere, friendly bar tender and owner. Service is prompt and place looks and smell clean. If this place wasn’t too far from home it would definitely be one of the regular spot I would visit weekly for that end of the week cheers to the weekend drink. They had free pizza the night we went to visit.

Fun, tucked away bar near Fair Park and Deep Ellum. Anytime I’ve popped in I’ve heard excellent live music. Lots of outdoor seating and a fun mix of locals. Inside is spacious and also has a great jukebox. Wide selection of cocktails of your liking. Very fun and laid back atmosphere!

I had heard of the Underpass from some friends that have done their weekly bike nights here from time to time, and when I found out that one of my favorite local jazz musicians was making this his new Monday home after the Amsterdam Bar closed, I knew I had to stop in. The place is really accessible. It has its own gated lot, with plenty of parking. The patio looks nice, with colorful strung lights to illuminate it. I walked inside, and saw that the interior is super spacious. There are plenty of tables and chairs near the front for you to sit and watch the musicians. The stage is awesome. I definitely think this did the band much better justice than the floor at the Amsterdam ever did. I liked that the backdrop to the stage was a floor-to-ceiling series of windows, so you could see the patio and the street behind them. The bartender was super nice, and was very welcoming when I informed him it was my first time there. They had local beer — always a plus — which was priced reasonably. I really liked the private feel of this place. There weren’t a bunch of people in there(could also be because it was Monday night), and I rather liked that. I plan on visiting more often, especially on Mondays when Shelley Carrol plays!

Being of the beaten path might not lead to instant success for the Underpass, but on a Sunday night, a group of 20 celebrating two birthdays, it felt like we had rented out our own private event hangout, new and clean, complete with pool table and outdoor patio. The bartender was friendly but generic, and the liquor selection was basic — no Bulleit whiskey for instance. I’ll go again when I want some privacy. Basic bar Patio Quiet and off beaten path Pool tables

So this place has all the basics to be on my list of high rotation Funday stops. I’ll just give you the basics. The location is inside a secure & fenced in parking lot, so there’s plenty of parking. The set up and layout reminds me of a couple places on 7th street in Fort Worth. It’s spacious with an industrial feel. Currently they are having a trivia night, but I’ll see how that works out. The kitchen isn’t open yet. So there is no food to munch out on! All in all I will keep a close eye that I don’t miss out!

The Underpass is on it’s way to becoming a great dive bar/pub. I say on their way because since they opened up a few weeks ago they are still in set-up mode with a pool table and kitchen to come. It is very spacious with some games including, hunting, golf, a touch screen video game, jukebox, etc. They have a nice long bar top with several beers on tap and bottled including, some local beers, along with any liquor you fancy. The parking lot is as others have said — abundant and free! Yay!

The Underpass is right next to the underpass for I-30 on Expo, thus the name. It is a renovation of a space that used to be a whole bunch of different things. Now it’s a bar, which will have a kitchen set up for food eventually(yay!). They have a HUGE parking lot, and the interior space, though quite large, is welcoming. There are lots of windows, a big bar with three huge TVs mounted overhead for watching sports, and a bunch of low tables and chairs. There are a handful of picnic tables out front for smokers, and one awkward looking two-seater picnic table inside among the mix of other tables and chairs. The pool table is currently in transition(read, sideways in the back room), but will eventually get set up, along with a Buck hunter game and the few other video game type things that are already in the main room. They also do have a megatouch machine on the bar, and it has all the standard games(including erotic photo hunt!), with a 4 credit/$ 1 price tag(most games here cost 2 credits). The space would be great for hosting a trivia night, so I hope they are able to get that going soon! Dogs are welcome too. Unsure whether cats are also invited to the party. Perhaps most importantly, drinks are cheap ~ $ 3 for wells, about the same for beers, and the staff are friendly and good at what they do. Happy hour starts at 5pm according to my sources, which is great since lots of bars in the area don’t even open til 7pm. The Underpass is definitely my favorite new addition to the area. Welcome to the neighborhood! p. s. the women’s restroom is super snuggly warm in the winter.
