Did you know that 90% of homes in the USA have less than adequate levels of insulation? I knew mine was lacking, but I didn’t really want to deal with the mess of having insulation installed. I also wanted radiant barrier, but I figured it was out of my price range. Boy was I wrong on both accounts! A friend of the family recently had radiant barrier, added insulation to the recommended 20 inches in her attic and installed additional ventilation with EAS. Her energy bill has really reflected the difference. The radiant barrier blocks 80% of the sun’s radiant heat from entering your home, so it lowers the electric bills in the summers in combination with the proper ventilation. The insulation lowers the bills for the winter. I called her rep, Gary from EAS(cell 817−807−3365), and he met me later in the day. My radiant and insulation was installed the following day. Zero mess. A different crew comes to install the wind turbine, but you don’t even know they are there. The total time from ringing my doorbell to signing paper work for the radiant and insulation… an hour and a half. I am really looking forward to seeing the difference in the utility bill! The best part, there is an energy efficiency tax rebate so much of the bill will be covered at tax time. ROCK! Also, fall and early winter are a down time for the company so they are running some incredible specials right now. It is full price during the rush seasons of spring and summer. I’ve wanted to add radiant and more insulation for several years now. It was painless and I’m glad I finally got it done!
