Walked in and asked for the barbacoa taco plate and the order taker looked like she’d seen s ghost. I guess I got the very last of it. And not much, either. My buddy was overcharged $ 1.49 and they couldn’t explain why… Only came here because I invited my buddy to the place across the street but they were closed today. Quick Stop has much better food.

We bought a whole chicken meal and the carne, both excellent. The chicken breasts were not dry and had great flavor! I’ll be back for sure and helpful staff.

This is our go-to for charcoal chicken. We’ve tried a lot of places and this one has the best tasting chicken. We usually get a whole chicken or the street tacos — the flour tortillas are delicious. And the green sauce is amazing.

I had been to El Pollito Loco once before, and wrote them a pretty bad review. However I was recently combing through my reviews on here, and was surprised that their other reviews had been somewhat decent. Today I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to give them another shot, and the food was much better from my previous encounter. I ordered a half chicken and also an order of chicken nachos. I had previously ordered these same nachos and found them inedible, but this time they were much improved. The chips were still thick, but fairly greaseless, and the chicken was much more plentiful. They were pretty refried bean heavy, and could use more cheese, but they were still pretty decent overall. I suggest trying their very hot salsa from their bar to pair with these nachos. The grilled chicken was served in a tear away bag that also contained a half grilled onion, and it was damn good. The chicken had an almost black char on the outside and the flesh was moist and delicious on the inside. It was served with a light Mexican rice and a good cup of bean soup. I also had some very fresh tortillas and a charred jalapeño from the self-serve fixings bar. Also quite yummy. The restaurant was running pretty hot this afternoon, with a possibly busted AC, so I’d recommend getting food to go until they get it fixed. In any event, I’m glad a came back and gave El Pollito Loco another shot. It was delicious.

Not much distinguishes this charcoal-grilled chicken joint from the competition. Menu is nearly identical with other DFW«pollo» chains serving up chicken, beef, pork, etc, in all formats of Mexican fast food faves. Dining space is spare and functional, customer service is attentive for a casual joint. Most of the walk-in business were takeout orders or blue-collar lunch workers looking for a fast, cheap meal.

This is a nice newer Mexican place, which apparently ran into some trademark issues and is now called«El Pollito» instead of «El Pollito Loco». The staff tends to speak only Spanish(although every blue moon you might run into one who can speak English). Regardless, you can usually get your order in without too much trouble. I mean, you can all say the words«fajitas», «quesadillas» and«tacos», right? If not, you may want to bring someone in to help you order. They have a couple of tvs inside, mainly playing Spanish dramas, soap operas or music videos. The soda fountain is self-serve, which is convenient and the condiment bar is generally easy to get to. There are a number of specials running all the time, but in any event, I find that you get a lot more«bang for your buck» here than you do at nearby Mexican restaurants; definitely a lot more meat in any of the entrees that you might order. They also have an assortment of Mexican sodas(jarritos, manzanita, etc.), which are tasty and I tend to get them most visits. Parking is plentiful and convenient.

Much like the other pollo places around, flame grill chicken, tortillas, rice and beans. The chicken was good, sides were decent, tortillas were good, and they do have a salsa bar with 5 types of salsa, pickled onions, limes, grilled jalapeños etc. The half chicken deal with a small guac was higher than I though it should be but it was a good portion. Service was quick, place was clean, and it smelled mouth watering when you walk in. I just don’t know what will make them stand out in a crowd of these places that are popping up all over. I will probably go back and try the tacos.

My friend suggested this place for lunch today. He lead with: «How are you with chicken on the bone?» so, I was a little dubious about what I was agreeing to. It’s fast food-meets-abuelito’s. I’m glad I checked it out! The grilled half chicken is the specialty of the house. The first time I went, I had a grilled chicken breast, not on the bone, because I wanted the veggies that came with it. It was kind of awkward at first trying to cut my chicken with plasticware on a Styrofoam plate, but it was also really good! Today I had the grilled half chicken with several coworkers. The most dubious coworker thought it was great. Others agreed that it was pretty good. The food is definitely house made. It’s a ton of food for not a lot of money.

First wandered into this place a few weeks ago and they were shooting a promo photo or two. The plates looked terrific, and the place wasn’t overly crowded. But what grabbed me was the huge indoor grill with the most succulent looking marinated chicken on it. They use a variety of spices, probably some ancho chile and other goodies, and the skin is a deep dark red from the rub. The flavor can’t be duplicated anywhere else. There’s a side salsa bar with(no joke) whole roasted jalapenos on it and some very intriguing salsas, among other things. My only criticism might be that they could put a bit more imagination into the sides which were kind of bland. But that chicken… woo hoo!

I have been twice to the restaurant(once for take out and once for lunch). My only real complaint is that they do not have pork even though it is on the menu. The chicken was great(got the ½ chicken once and the chicken tacos the other). The chicken is flavorful and moist and simply delicious. The beef, however = not so much(tough, overcooked, bland)… skip that all together!!! They have delicious salsas also(like 4 or 5 different ones) plus other«fixins» for your tacos at the help yourself bar. Oh, they speak english if your spanish isn’t strong. It’s just a great little place(and clean) to go for some good mexican chicken!
