Don’t let the outward appearance fool you. This place is becoming my go to place. The staff is very friendly and the service level is exceptional.

What a cute, quaint, delicious place! Great portions and sweet staff. I love the area — lots of choices, but I’m glad I chose this one last night. Great as leftovers as well! I will definitely go back and recommend to others!

We eat at this place often but recently had a not so great experience. We ordered one night and were told itd be about 45 minutes. An hour later we called and they said it was on its way. then another 20 minutes later we called and said we didn’t want it anymore. They said they’d give us a 50% refund($ 21) and it would be there soon. An hour an 45 minutes after we placed our order, the food arrived. I never saw my refund. Called later that week and the manager said it should show up on my card in the next couple days. It never came so we paid $ 42 for a meal that took almost 2 hours to arrive. Probably won’t be going back

4 stars for food 2 stars for delivery time. I say time because they’re understaffed and take too long to deliver. The delivery guys, however, are very pleasant and always apologetic for the time to deliver. Regardless, just order 45 minutes ahead of when you want the food and you’ll be very happy. Highly suggest any fried rice, coconut soup with chicken, pad Thai, and any of the curries. This place is a weekly rotation staple for our family.

I’ve eaten here for dinner a couple of weekday nights. Small restatant located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Never really too busy. Quick and consistent service. Lots of options on the menu but pretty basic. Nothing I have ordered is too memorable. Would return because it’s quick and easy.

Small restaurant off mockingbird/Abrams by the IHOP It’s BYOB and no ‘corking’ fee at all The food is very tasty and i can always expect that every time It’s pretty small so it can get very noisy if busy with lots of families To me it’s a more casual and cheaper Royal Thai The spring fried rolls are delicious as well as mango sticky rice(when in season) Highly recommend

I was the only and first person in. Several others followed after I ordered. They sat at tables and received their order before me. Once I got home with my take out I noticed it was the wrong order.(My fault for not checking) Instead of traveling back to place I stomached the mistake. Young girl is kind and inviting. The woman that served me was a cold stone witch. Thought since I live in the area I would try Ginger. Nope, not again. I’ll make that extra 5 min drive to Thai Opal instead.

I was in the neighborhood and thought I would give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a small place in a strip mall, but there is plenty of parking(which can be hard to find in this area). I had the Beef Satay as an appetizer and to be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled. I’m used to beef Satay being a jerky type of Asian beef, but this was just flank steak that was grilled on a stick. It wasn’t bad, but I just wasn’t impressed. BUT, I ordered the chicken Thai Sauce and that made up for the appetizer(see my picture). It was wonderful! The Thai Sauce was very tasty and it came with rice. I wish it came with more chicken, but it’s a small price to pay for such a wonderful dish. I will definitely come back when I am in this part of town.

This is our go to East Dallas Thai place. The food is really, really good. AND they do delivery for days like today where were just too busy and now too tired to make dinner. The Tom Kha is great as are all of the Curries. Super solid and we keep going back.

My bf and I were at a loss when deciding what to eat on NYE. There is a serious dearth of good Thai places in Lakewood, so we decided to give Ginger Thai a try. I got there, and checked out the menu, which had plenty of options. It was kind of sad… the place was a bit empty, and a bit lacking in the atmosphere department(because it was COLD in there!), but I nonetheless was excited about ordering our food. I went with a chicken pineapple fried rice, and my bf had the Thai herbed chicken. We ordered Thai style samosas, as well. Now, I normally expect takeout to be a bit sub-par compared to dining in, but this place far exceeded my expectations. My rice was wrapped in foil inside my container, to keep it separate from the cucumber and lime it came with. My bf’s herbed chicken was incredibly delicious and still quite crispy, in spite of having been inside the takeout container. The samosas had a fantastic texture, and came with an interesting sauce with cucumber and tamarind. Yum! My fried rice was amazing. Tomatoes, lots of caramelized onions, green onion, cashews, and nice, soft pineapple. It was not at all bland. I usually have to put extra soy sauce on my rice to give it some flavor, but did not have to with this stuff. We will definitely be dining in soon. We have been looking for a reasonably close-to-home place to eat Thai food, and I think we may have found it!

Great Pad Thai, friendly staff and a location that’s super convenient to my workplace make this one of my favorite Friday night dinner stops. I’ve actually only tried the Pad Thai, but sometimes I just want to stick with a basic sure bet. Ginger Thai fits the bill. I always get my order to go, but the dining room is clean and tastefully decorated, should you decide to stay. The service is friendly and prompt and the portions fill me up perfectly. There are always lots of bean sprouts(yum!) and shredded carrots topping the deliciously seasoned rice noodles, so I can pretend I’m eating healthy. They will also do large carry-out/catering sized portions. Some customers at my studio used them for an event because of the large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes available. It’s definitely a good all-around neighborhood Thai place.

I actually order from here every once in while… as a last resort. What can I say, sometimes I need some pad thai. It’s pretty much the only thing I’ve ordered here so far and while it’s decent it’s certainly nothing special. It floors me how they get my food just wrong every single time. Don’t expect good service, you will be disappointed. Especially over the phone, whatever I order all I get is the monotone«anything else, anything else.» I always get the chicken pad thai, adding shrimp and extra bean sprouts minus the peanuts. They make sure they add no more than 3 tiny shrimps for $ 1.50 and $ 1.00 for a few extra strands of bean sprouts. Not exaggerating. Usually they give me less chicken just because I add shrimp(which keep in mind, I pay extra for) but this time they left out the chicken entirely. I have no problem paying for the overpriced extras, except there it is, the peanuts that I always request to exclude. Funny how that works. Either do the order right and charge me whatever extra or just do the order however you want but don’t overcharge me for what I didn’t specifically order. –_-. So, to summarize… if you order a chicken pad thai it is $ 8.95. If you add shrimp, you get less chicken and no more than 3 pieces of small shrimp for an additional $ 1.50. **Sometimes they’ll just leave out the chicken entirely unless your lucky. You ask for extra bean sprouts, they’ll give you pretty much the same amount except they’ll put it in a separate container and charge you another $ 1. You ask to hold the peanuts, they don’t care if you might be deathly allergic, the peanuts will still come with your order. If they were at least sweet I would forgive but nope, I always find myself being more polite as the customer. LOL. I am not cheap when it comes my food, but I give this place 1 star because that’s how much they need to work on their customer service skills.

Me and one other person came here on a mid-afternoon Saturday. There was one group of four that left shortly after we ordered, and one guy who seemed really interested in the cute young lady who took our order. She just happened to be one of those«special» waitpeople who didn’t need to bother with writing down an order for two. Aaaaaaand guess what happened… she forgot my main entrée. We only had one bowl of the coconut curry, cream cheese puffs, shrimp spring rolls, and two plain right-off-the-menu entrees. I’m always on the wait staff’s side. I regularly tip more than 20%, and I get that people can have an off night. But when you’re showing off and you miss the MAIN thing a waitperson should be concerned about, even on a lazy Saturday afternoon??? Please just write down the order! But I can’t complain too much; they had my chicken fried rice out within a few minutes, and the food was excellent. The coconut soup was surprisingly good with a little spicy kick, the cream cheese puffs were the best I’ve ever had, and the chicken fried rice was pretty good. I didn’t really like the spring rolls though; they seemed dry and flavorless, even with the peanut sauce. I’ll be back to try some of the other dishes, and my favorites, of course.

Service-4/5 Friendly waitress and fast service Food-3/5 Sweetness of Massaman Curry overpowered all the other great flavors and ingredients that went into this dish, but it was still pretty tasty. Peanut dressing on the side salad was delicious Price-4.5/5 Lunch price-$ 6.95 Will need to try some classics next time-Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Basil Fried Rice

Prompt and friendly service. I ordered the fish curry which was underwhelming. The fish tasted old. There was little seasoning in the breeding on the fish and lacked any flavor. Further, the veggies were undercooked and boring. The sauce was quite good though, if a bit sweet. And I asked for 5⁄5 spiciness and it was more like 3⁄5. Overall wouldn’t recommend when there’s much better Thai in the area.

I do not review people or places unless they are really good or horrendously bad. Gingeir Thai on Mockingbird is the latter. I have eaten in the restaurant ONCE. My credit card number was stolen and used on line. I know this to be true because I do not use credit cards often, and the only place I had used it was at Ginger Thai. The card was not stolen, but when they ran the card they stole the number. Because the food is good, we have continued to order delivery from them, but only when we can use cash. However, the last 3 times we have had food delivered, it has taken over an hour and a half to be delivered, and they consistently serve us TOFU pad thai instead of chicken pad thai. I would perhaps even cut that some slack, but the staff that takes orders speaks PERFECT english. No excuses. So lesson to be learned– go to the restaurant, pay in cash, and do not order the chicken pad thai. We will not be enjoying Ginger Thai cuisine anymore.

A nice spot for Thai food in Lakewood. The food tends to be the sweet side of the Thai flavor profile. The coconut soup was way too sweet, but the flaws here are forgivable. The food is decent and the price reasonable. The Thai samosas were the standout. I am not sure what they were filled with, but dang it was good.

3 stars is a rounded number: 4 stars for a 15 minute turn around on a busy Sunday(for pick up). And some really good Pad Kee Mow. 1 star for the TERRIBLY over sweet thai tea. If you enjoy sipping on simple syrup or just want the energy boost and crash that you so deeply desire, GOHERE. Now, I read a few other reviews about how they liked the thai tea. Looks decent in pictures. Maybe it was the strange to-go cup that the lady had to make it in. Maybe it was her misunderstanding of fractions. Whatever the reasoning, it didn’t change the fact that it was unbearable to drink. I tried adding milk. Water. Ice. Nothing changed the sweetness. INFINITESUGAR!!! Ok moving on. 3 stars for the Pad Woon Sen. I’ve had much better.(even at royal thai or my fave, malai. The portion was pretty perfect though. I could eat it all and not be super full or have gross leftovers the day after. It was a little oily though and a little flavorless. BUT it was packed with veggies(I got tofu) which I loved. Probably why it wasn’t as filling. The Pad Kee Mow was SO much better. Wish I had gotten that. Next time! As in, I would come back. For sunday night thai take out or just a weeknight quick dinner.

Ginger Thai is one of my favorite new Thai places. Price wise it’s better than most places. The crab Rangoon rocks and the yellow curry tastes homemade. The Thai fried chicken is probably better at the restaurant than delivered. The Thai fried rice is typical of Thai fried rice; it’s much cleaner tasting than Chinese fried rice. Overall they’re right under Si Lom in my rotation.
