We went on a very busy Saturday and despite the fact that they were busy our food was brought our very fast. Employees were very nice. I got the salad with strawberries, figs, goat cheese(I forgot the name) and the kitchen sink shake. Both me and my fiancé walked out of there with our tummies full, satisfied and most importantly happy

First time here thanks to all the reviews. Food and service were great! I had the Swimmin Down Under and Onion Rings — best onion rings I’ve had in awhile. Hubby got Guadapotle and sweet potato fries. Everything was great! We’ll def be back.

Finally tried this place out last weekend. Glad I did ! Quality in all aspects… food, environment, customer service and oh my god the drinks ! I could of kept on ordering them only to find out they close at 11 on a Saturday. I wasn’t aware til they came to me for last call. It didn’t bother me though, they let me enjoy my meal in peace without having to drop hints to get out. I work in the food industry so I understand the closing hour. Fully recommend it to friends and family.

2016 Unilocal 100 Challenge Review #4 I was super famished… like ‘I’m not myself when I’m hungry’ hungry. I noticed it was like 15 til close so I called in to go. It was after 10p on a Friday night. The young lady who answered the phone was very nice and granted me suggestions as I often ask because if you don’t know muah can be a tad indecisive. She suggested the Jive Turkey and sweet potato fries. The Lockhart is most popular but I’ve had that one before and wasn’t blown away. It’s been some years but I was moved to try something new. I also do not like skinny/stick fries. All in all, I was extremely pleased with my meal. The turkey burger was a lighter option but was a hearty helping packed with flavor not to mention avocado and alfalfa sprouts… yummy! The sweet potato fries were waffle style. Just lovely. The pick up guy was awesome. I went to the restroom and my dinner was in a bag with my name on it with the club soda I asked for. Excellent customer service! And great food. It costs my $ 12 but I think the value was well matched. Turns it around for me!

I knew right away that this was a knock off Hopdoddy. I have no problem with this, but I do feel they miss the bar that Hopdoddy has established with flavor. I ordered the Lockhart Legend, with sweet potato waffle fries and a kitchen sink shake. Right away the shake wasnt as good as Hopdoddy. The shake had a lot of potential, but the viscosity was a little thin and alot of the ‘goodies’ were buried at the bottom. This was still a good shake, but I probably wouldnt order another one unless a friend bought it. The fries had a good texture, but no pop in flavor. To me, they were just empty calories. The strongest aspect of the burger was the meat. I will say that the meat here has more flavor than Hopdoddy. Everything else pails in comparison. The buns arent buttery. The vegetables seem mediocre. The BBQ sauce was good, but that shouldnt have to uphold the entire structure of the flavor. I really wished they didnt use the word Lockhart, considering the lack of barbecued meats(I would have imagined shreds of brisket or pulled pork at least). The fried egg was a nice touch, but unfortunately did not outshine the problems. Dont get me wrong, I had a good time eating here. I wanted a burger and they executed. Everything I had was solid. But this place needs to change some things before I decided to eat here again on my own will. If Im going on a date, and some girl insists me go here, Im not going to say no and blow my chances on getting laid. If my friends ask me if this place is worth it, I would probably tell them to go to Hopdoddy.

Super impressed by the food here. A friend introduced me to this place and now I’m hooked! It’s definitely a great spot to hang out in the afternoons or nights. My friends and I come here often to watch sports(an awesome plus with good food!). The bartenders are super quick and are great at conversing! Must gets: any spiked milkshake. Those are fantastic, and I can’t help but sip on one each time. My personal favorite is the Tipsy Worms and Dirt. As for the burgers, you really can’t go wrong with any of them(yes, even the non-beef ones). I have also tried the chicken tenders, which are extremely juicy and are a pretty large portion size. If you’re feeling indulgent, aim for the chili cheese fries. I appreciate how the thin fries have a nice crisp, but they still keep the potato-ey texture. Overall, I’d say this place is just as good(or maybe better) than Hopdoddy. The service is fantastic(and servers are extremely knowledgeable), and the food comes out way faster than other burger restaurants that I’ve been to. They also have a wide selection of crafts for any beer enthusiast. I really can’t pull out a negative from Grub. They even have a private parking lot, so you’ll never have to be concerned about parking. Phenomenal area and place to chill/dine. Highly recommend to everyone.

You’re my boy blue! No I’m not talking about a dog or friend, but the delicious burger that is anything but just another burger. A delicious, juicy burger patty served with caramelized onions, tomato, greens, and blue cheese is something I promise will leave you with a smile. The milk shakes, if you still have it in you to cram a bit more in, will make your eye brows raise… or just chat with the friendly bartenders to get a handcrafts cocktail or mocktail depending on your fancy. Several other burgers, chili, fries, and sides as options available as well. Service is fast and really friendly… with the price being a little cheaper than a number of other local gourmet burger spots.

Grub Burger Bar. Probably one of my top burger spots ever. Having the little high end price of a Shake Shack, but not as expensive as Hopdoddy’s, it definitely hits that sweet spot for my tight budget. I ordered the Voodoo Burger(with a Fried Egg on top) and a side order of their Cheese Fries. I didn’t wait for too long for the items to come out, and man, I was definitely satisfied after the meal. The Voodoo Burger definitely had an awesome blend of tastes associated with it(Absinthe sautéed mushrooms with swiss cheese, and Tabasco mayo), and the Cheese Fries definitely hit the spot for me. Both dishes were very flavorful. What also blew me away was the bartender CJ. He is very talkative, loves getting to know his customers, and even provides very helpful information on each of the menu items. For a person like me who is indecisive with their food, this is a major key to success for a Unilocal 5-star rating. I’m excited to come back to the bar and have CJ serve me once again.

Went during lunch and split a hippie chicpea Veg burger and a Napa Salad with my friend. I rate them a 5 for quality and service but a 3 for the flavor. The chicpea burger was a bit off with the feta cheese, same as the salad(way too much feta cheese and I LOVE feta cheese– must have been the dressing) not the right mix for my tastebuds. Actually tasted a bit funky with so many peanuts and then a peanuty dressing to top it off, but rated them a 4 because it might just be my preference. There might be other folks that like that. I love nutty salads but this one was not my type. The potato fries were excellent except for the amount of salt on them. Photos look great though…

The hubster loves this place. It’s been his go-to on nights that I have plans and he needs a place to watch the game and grab dinner. I finally decided to venture into his cool hang out spot and was glad that I finally did. Picky about my burger since a lot of places claim that their veg burger is made«in house» and then out comes a thawed out patty, I was pleased that this was clearly a made from scratch veggie burger. The Hippie Chickpea is a flavorful burger that shockingly has eggplant in it… I really dislike eggplant couldn’t taste it at all. The goat cheese and arugula were a nice compliment to red pepper mayo. The only thing that I felt the burger was missing was something crunchy since the arugula, texturally, got lost in between all the other ingredients in the burger(the peppery bite was nice). Now the rave the place… the milk shakes. I mean, like whoa. Next time I have a bad day… or just need a milkshake… I’m here. I stayed in with the classic mint chocolate chip but the hubster, whose a go big or go home type of guy, did the dirty kitchen sink(basically kitchen sink but spike) and I mean, wowza. This is could have been the meal. wow. The next time the hubster says he’s going to Grub when I have to conveniently go out, I will conveniently either stop by or, at least, as for him to bring me home a milkshake :).

Great food! Delicious drinks! Awesome service! I don’t think I need to say anything else about this place. They have great double HH! I loaded myself with so much food, drinks, and overall, calories when I came here during the late HH lol. Definitely have to come back here to try other items on their menu. I’m not really a fan of burgers, but I do love this place!

This is indeed good Grub. I had the Burger of the Sea, which is a massive cut of Ahi tuna. It was outstanding: cooked to perfection and delicious. This burger is priced at $ 11 and worth every cent. The Brewer had the Guacapotl Burger, which is a southwest style burger. We also ordered the onion rings and got some of the tasty Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce to dip the rings in. The onion rings and BBQ sauce are both amazing, by the way. The manager greeted us on the way in and checked on us during our meal. In general, staff was very friendly here. There are TVs tuned to various sporting events, and while I felt like the outside of the building looked a bit pretentious, it is anything but. They also have a bad-ass happy hour: all craft beer pints are $ 4. This place is so good, The Brewer uses it to measure other burger bars. Grub is so good, I am going to go on the record and say Grub is the best gourmet burger in Dallas. Gauntlet thrown.

This place is superb! I was super excited to try this spot out at a Unilocal Elite event because it was close to my house AND had a vegetarian burger option! So, armed with my friend that will eat anything, we ventured out. The building is easy to find and lots of parking after office hours. Very classy décor inside and out with TVs to watch the games around the bar! For the event, we were able to sample several burgers and a couple appetizers. My friend tried the ahi tuna and said it was really good and tasted better than the tuna she’d had before. We both tried the napa salad and it was delicious! So fresh and colorful. As for the burgers, she tried all of the ones that came around. When one of the hostesses found out that I was a vegetarian, she was so nice to me and made sure that they stopped by my table first when the vegetarian patty came around. For both of us, the vegetarian, «Hippie Chickpea,» burger was our favorite. It was so flavorful and delicious with the roasted red pepper mayo and goat cheese. The buns are baked fresh and so yummy. Her second favorite burger was the VooDoo Mushroom and said that the mushroom and sauce were amazing and should be on every burger. We both could not resist ordering a «kitchen sink» milkshake because decisions are hard and this one allowed us to get EVERYTHING in the shake: pretzels, PB, chocolate, caramel, coffee, and potato chips. Sounds crazy, but it definitely worked. We tried a few different beers and there are so many options as there as well! It’s not just a burger restaurant, it definitely is a great place to get different beer options. And as for the fries, they were crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. I will definitely be returning!

Gourmet burgers, craft beer, and tasty adult milkshakes, oh my!!! I was lucky enough to try this spot at a Unilocal Elite event & man they really three down fo us with tasty libations and delicious burger bites at Grub Burger Bar! I started with the Community Mosaic IPA– one of my fave IPAs to date(cant get it in Raleigh) followed by the Revolver coffee porter. I also got the Dirty Kitchen Sink– an adult milk shake made with loads of sweet & salty treats! It was too filling but would make for a delightful night cap. My favorite burger was the Voodoo mushroom burger topped with absinthe-sauteed mushrooms & tabasco aioli. I looooove how Grub grinds their meat in-house, bakes their own buns, and makes every topping in-house too… the food is packed with flavor(and very affordable too!!) so so impressed. Though I don’t love seafood, the Ahi Tuna appetizer and the Salmon burger were huge hits. Bartender Mike was super friendly & so was the rest of the staff. Our event was in a partitioned side room that’s perfect for accommodating large groups(prob up to 60 people). The space was well decorated & the outdoor patio looked quite inviting. All in all, I left full, happy, and overjoyed that the meal was so fresh & delicious. Great burgers + craft beer = I’ll definitely come back!

Very casual and laid back place to grab a burger and drink. Grub has some good local beers on tap for thirsty people! I ordered the«You’re My Boy Blue» burger(Picture doesn’t do justice) and sweet potato fries as my side. The meat was cooked to perfection(rare plus) and paired well with bleu cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. The bun was soft and on point! This is by far my favorite burger in Dallas! The sweet potato fries were amazing but the portion was MEH. I got about 10 fries… haha. Overall great dining spot! Grub has a full far, great burger selections, and also affordable. Been here a bunch of times and they never disappoint! Definitely recommend this place!

Many steps well above the typical fast food burger joints and in line with Hopdoddy’s. This place was packed for lunch but there were several servers checking on us through out our meal, with smiles. The food is top quality, their salads, shakes, sweet potato fries, and of course burgers are just the best. The burgers are definitely gourmet. My Voodoo mushroom burger had a good flavor. Tons of flavorful mushrooms, great burger, and the bread was freshly house made. Fair number of craft beers on tap and a good selection of unique burger choices. Whether you like a big burger with booze, a chicken sandwich, salmon, fresh green salads, or need gluten free bun, this is the place to go. This place is great for a casual lunch or dinner. Great stop if you want something way a lot better than Jack in the box burgers and yet not too upscale with a fair price.

I like their LOGO!(smile) The décor is fun and modern. I like the bar in the middle of the restaurant and the semi-open kitchen. I have the«Jive Turkey» burger, it was cooked perfectly and fresh. Plus, I was able to add an egg, which I love. I did add on fries and a shake because everyone talked about how good their shakes are. Shakes are good. I thought the price was a little high for one person during the week for lunch. I would add this to my list of burgers(although I had turkey, it still counts).

This place was wonderful. Food looked fresh and tasted good. I wanted to try something new so I ordered a Thai peanut burger with fries. Sounded crazy. Creamy peanut butter, roasted peanuts, cilantro lime coconut places and sambas mayo. Hehe. To be honest was scared. But I have to say this was wonderful. Everything blends together and the taste was wonderful. Staff was friendly and the food came out fast. We were a big party but drinks and food came in a timely wait. Staff also did come by to see if everything was good. Took a star off cause it is a little confusing. You need to order your food and self serve soda then find a seat. Big kudos to the staff running the food out. No numbers given but the food came right to us. Little things make me happy. Will be back.

First time here but it definitely won’t be my last! I ordered the Lockhart burger, hippy chickpea burger, sweet potato fries and tabbouleh. All were great, except I wasn’t really a fan of the mint in the tabbouleh. Didn’t have any of their alcoholic beverages but I did check out their drink menu and it looked good and inexpensive. Nice venue with outdoor seating also.

Love this place! Burgers are huge and delicious and milkshake choices are insane. HH is also great! I think late night HH is after 9pm. Try the Thai peanut burger if you really like peanut butter. Also, I definitely recommend splitting fries, especially if you’re getting ab alcoholic milkshake.
