My favorite coffee joint in Dallas. My boyfriend and I go there 1−2x a week. Everything they make is wonderful. If I want sweet, I’ll get a vanilla latte. If I want to taste the coffee but am a bit hungry, I’ll get a cappuccino for that bit of milk. If I want pure coffee, I’ll get a manual brew or pour over. Everyone that works there is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Coffee is ok but not worth over $ 4 good for just a small Americano. The coffee shop is nice and has a nice outside area but the coffee doesn’t warrant over $ 4 for a cup.

Love this place. It’s friendly, relaxed, and easy on the ears. Finally, a place that knows how to serve up a flat white. Great pastries too.

Saw this place on Instagram and finally got to go! Ordered a Latte with Soy and I enjoyed it. Love the natural lighting and wood fixtures! Haven’t been to the one in Austin, but my visit to the Dallas location was delightful.

I was so ready to love Houndstooth. The reviews were fantastic and the café was clean and super trendy with a strong hipster vibe, the kind of place this coffee snob would love to frequent. Unfortunately, the coffee just didn’t deliver. I had a cup of their fancy pour over coffee. They didn’t seem to have prices listed anywhere, and I was shocked that just a cup of coffee came out to $ 4.40. The coffee was nothing special, bordering on bad; it was simultaneously too weak and too acidic. But I really wanted to believe, so I followed the cup of coffee up with a double macchiato. It was less disagreeable than the coffee, but still a little weak and a little too acidic. I did enjoy the cinnamon roll that they got from a local bakery, but I definitely wouldn’t come back to Houndstooth.

Only coffee shop open on a Sunday so 4 stars! Sweet employees. I like their selection. Wish they didn’t have their menu on a clipboard next to the register but hey, it’s top notch coffee. You should know what you’re getting. This is no Starbucks by any means. Their cappuccino was FABULOUS! Cute little patio too. I would go back if I liked Dallas enough to.

I’m a student at The University of Texas at Austin so I frequently study at the two Houndstooth locations in Austin — N. Lamar and Congress. This store in Dallas, however, is hands down my favorite. Why? The #1 reason is the ample amount of space both in terms of parking and indoor/outdoor seating. The parking lot is adjacent to Houndstooth and it has a plethora of parking spots. It’s so nice and convenient not having to find street parking, like I normally have to do in ATX. Again, the amount of seating available inside the store is just amazing. There’s also a cute«patio» outside(with shade). Although Houndstooth is notorious for $$$ coffee, I think it’s definitely worth it. I normally get either an iced coffee(with no sugar or cream) or an iced vanilla latte. The iced coffee is so smooth and is not overwhelmingly strong, which I love. If you’re looking for a coffee shop in Dallas, I HIGHLY recommend Houndstooth!

Houndstooth is right up there with the best coffee shops in Dallas. I love their cozy and modern feel — no crusty couches. The coffee is fantastic and the staff is super knowledgeable. I wasn’t sure what I was in the mood for but Tavner made sure I got something I would love. Another great Dallas find! Check it out for your next meeting, date night, or early morning wake-up.

They have a really big open space inside with a lot of natural light coming in and also has outside seating. They have benches and stools so you can really spread out. The coffee was good and baristas really friendly.

Great coffee. I had a choice of 4 different espressos. The cappuccino was great and came in a cup with Texas on it, which is cool. Texas for ever! The shop is in the same location as the old Pearl Cup on Henderson. Plenty of parking. They have 4 community tables, seating on the wall, and some outdoor seating that is covered. The music is a little loud. Would rather just listen to music in my headphones. A little loud and distracting. They have WiFi. Great place.

My previous slight«beef» with this place was that it was incredibly slow to get a cup of coffee out. For my past few visits, it has not been a problem. I feel that it has been consistent enough to rid them of the bad name of being slow. So, now, if you feel like a good cup of coffee, not mind the slightly higher price, its a good spot :) My personal go-to is their cortado, just because I like my coffee with less milk.

My roommate(a self proclaimed coffeesnob) recommended this place so I came by with two friends to sip coffee and chat. The space itself is open though small and so minimal that the menu itself is barebones on a small chalkboard(though not on the wall). Most people were studying or doing something on their laptops so definitely felt weird to be the only ones talking. I got a latte and like most non-Starbucks coffee shops, was about $ 5 for a small mug. It wasn’t bad but nothing exceptional though to be fair I don’t know much about coffee. It’s admittedly out of my way so probably won’t frequent it as often as there’re other places closer to me.

I’ve been coming here a few times already since my Mother lives in this neighborhood. I’m so glad that I’ve decided to come… especially since they are one of the few shops in Dallas that actually knows how to do a good Americano. A simple coffee drink… but, it’s so easy to mess up if you don’t know what you’re doing. The Baristas are very knowledgeable of coffee, and have pride in what they’re doing. So, if you don’t mind paying for high quality coffee. Then, this is the spot!!!

A+ coffee, beautiful interior, and chill baristas. This is a place where no matter how often you go, it’ll never get old. From the Japanese iced coffee to the hibiscus blueberry iced tea, the unique subtleties of the menu really set Houndstooth apart. The vibes are casual and comfortable(+ outdoor seating, yays!) but you know they take their design seriously from the wooden furnishings and aqua accents. If anything, you know you gotta come here so you can insta the Texas themed mugs. And maybe you’ll even even set up shop for an afternoon like all the other cool(+ wonderfully personable and down-to-earth) kids in town. Plus taking into account its location in the developing hip food + arts mecca of Greenville Ave, what’s not to love? (Also — free parking lot & cool painted side wall. Omgah. Word.)

Had to try this spot since its in my neighborhood! It looks really nice inside and the staff is very friendly! Although I’m really disappointed by the price. $ 4.50 for a small iced chai tea. I can get a large drink at Starbucks for that much. makes it hard to want to choose small businesses over massive chains when their prices don’t compete.

Pros: The location is in walking distance for me which is great. There is a private lot for non-walkers. I really enjoy the community tables for seating – it is nice to be able to spread out a bit. People seem to understand that they are in fact meant for sharing. The coffee was decent. They had several beans to select from for the pour over and also have a whole range of other drinks. I really enjoyed the hibiscus iced tea, it was maybe my favorite that I had. The donut was good, nothing to write home about. They are really good about cleaning up and frequently come around gathering dishes. Cons: Their wifi is not the fastest, I did have issues with it going in and out. Also they are very limited in terms of outlets – so arrive with a full charge. There is maybe a little bit of the stuck up hipster vibe but nothing over the top. The pour over coffee was good, but maybe not worth the almost $ 5 a cup price tag.

Thank jeebus there’s a Houndstooth in Dallas now. It makes my trips there so much easier. Best coffee in Dallas, hands down. Cool baristas. I like the space they have there. It’s different than their other locations, and I enjoy it. Whether you’re getting a simple iced coffee, a perfectly crafted cappuccino, or one of their original creations(TRYTHECOFFEEJULEP), you will get a great drink every time.

I had a perfectly decent time at Houndstooth. The décor caught my eye first – the interesting wooden façade and ample patio seating(both covered and uncovered) would make this a cool outdoor hangout on a less blisteringly warm day. Inside, the concrete floors, funky modern-art light fixtures and teal-and-wooden color scheme are quite pleasing to the eye, while at the same time coming off a bit cold, sterile. There are five large communal tables that each seat six on tall stools and a bar with the same tall stools that extends along the outer walls; no cozy chairs to curl up in here, most patrons were working on laptops. The baristas were quite friendly and helpful, making nice conversation about the weather and offering me 1% milk in my Iced Americano when I asked for a low-calorie alternative to the available cream. The Americano was good, if slightly pricey, and served in a pint glass with the Houndstooth logo on it(very suave). Overall it’s a perfectly good place to get a cup of coffee and get some work done.

This is a solid coffeeshop. One of my friends recommended Houndstooth to me after visiting there the previous week. Houndstooth is tucked into a larger building, across the street from Barcadia. It is easy to miss if you don’t know what you are looking for. Luckily, I did, so I found it. I ordered a vanilla cappuccino after explaining to the barista what I was looking for. He was extremely friendly and pointed me in the right direction. When my cappuccino arrived, I was surprised to see latte art. The heart in the milk foam was such a cool touch. Coming in just below $ 5, this is a tad pricey. But, the quality is definitely top notch. As I have said in numerous other reviews, I would much rather pay more to support local. This is a great find, and I fully intend to come here more often! Thanks Houndstooth for the delicious caffeinated beverage!

Houndstooth is a comfortable place to study or drink coffee with a friend. The inside is kept clean and looks modern. Unlike some coffee places the atmosphere is very casual and the music isn’t cranked up so loud that you can’t even hear yourself think. There aren’t many outlets though. The baristas are also very friendly and will help customize the drink. I got a vanilla latte that was made perfectly. The barista also added a cute little heart! We will be back here :)
