After driving around after running an errand, and being hungry, but not for anything specific… somehow we ended up at KFC. Trust me, there were a lot of other places that were thrown out and rejected, cash only establishments, and general frustration at this selection, but it was getting to the end of the line, and starvation was about to ensue. This place looks pretty old and was showing age. I saw the sign for a 1.99 Monday special, and cheap was definitely a decision factor for my dinner. A leg, a thigh, biscuit and a side(mashed potatoes) for 2 bucks. What what? My friend was going to follow suit, but I imagined he was hungrier than that, so he recanted and switched to ordering the 3 strip meal instead. Cashier Tina seemed irritated that he changed his mind as we clearly saw her frustration, and mouthing the word«sh!t» as she struggled with the computer screen. She proceeded to ring us out, literally threw our food on to plates and onto the tray, and then pushed it over to me, asking«Is there anything else you want before you sit down? Are you sure?» This in theory is a nice question. But the way she said… as in «Don’t be coming back up here to bother me again…» Hey we all have bad days, but if you work at KFC, and you are having a bad day, volunteer to work the fryer. Or to bread chicken, or ANYTHING where you don’t have to talk to people. Yikes. Anywho, my chicken was salty as all hell. The thigh was fried unevenly as there were some soggy, flour-y looking sections on some parts. The chicken strips looked way dark and dried out. I know it, its KFC, but the food normally is at least edible… meh. Trash cans were overflowing, kitchen workers were yelling all sorts of whatsits to each other. Yeah… in and out, dinner for 2, under 8 bucks. What did I expect anyway?
