Came here on a Wednesday night with 5 people and we were seated right away. The restaurant is part of a mini mall with 6 – 8 other restaurants and there’s a huge parking lot. We started with drinks. They have about 40 beers from local breweries and wine. The Revolver blood and honey was delicious, the Rabbit hole 561 I wasn’t a fan of. Looking forward to getting a beer flight next time! For food we started off with the hand twisted soft pretzels and bierocks to share for the table. You get 3 pretzels and 3 bierocks in one order. The cheese fondue that comes with these items is heavenly. The pretzels were really soft, not too salty and overall a great starter. For dinner I got the grilled romaine and roasted jalapeño buttermilk dressing with chicken added on. The salad was gigantic. I ended up taking half of it home. The added chicken is thrown on top and I had to get through that first prior to getting to the veggies. There’s no flavor in the chicken itself but it was cooked well and once it’s mixed with the dressing and other vegetables it was good. Overall a great place to grab food with local beers, chill atmosphere, lots of space and great service!

We came for brunch and it’s a great place for that. Trinity grove is a nice place with good vibes and it’s a lot of fun sitting here. We had the pastrami eggs Benedict with was excellent. It seemed small at the beginning but has a nice portion of meat for brunch. Also ordered the French toast which was very dense and overly sweet for my taste. But still nice. The beers are great, service was fine.

It was very good and we will come here again! The service was excellent and the food was tasty. Really liked the meatloaf. The kids turkey sandwich was a bit basic but the kids swallowed it!

I’m a reporter, and I stated while we were ordering drinks that I was writing up this location in a feature about great outdoor patios and bars. Normally I get a positive response when I say something like that, but our server had a combative attitude. I was interested in the story of the local soda company that they have on their menu, and instead of getting me info, he started arguing with me about why he shouldn’t know it. It’s ok that he doesn’t know! A simple, «I’m sorry. Let me find someone who knows more,» would have worked. He claimed that asking about the sodas on their menu was like asking about BF Goodrich Tires? As in, how should he know anything about them. But then he started listing off the stories of the different beers on tap? He saw my companion hug someone important at Trinity Groves and then got me the number of the soda company. And, I still wrote up the place cuz it’s tasty and has a great patio. One bad experience doesn’t define it. At the end of the meal he gave us the wrong check, too. It was great food, good company, and one of the worst service experiences of my life!

Meatloaf and pretzel not worth the hype. The meatloaf is really rich and not in a good way. As for the pretzel you could tell it was frozen then reheated because it was so dry.

I had been wanting to try LUCK for several weeks and was not disappointed when I got the chance! Both the Texas Hot Brown sandwich and Burger were very good! FYI — the only side item is potato chips though. Service was good and everyone on the staff was very attentive. It was pretty crowded on a Friday night, but we were able to get a table outside — well worth asking on a pretty night!

Trinity Grove almost feels like Lincoln Road in South Beach — a pretty spot to dine with a product more focused for tourism and fulfilling the masses. Almost like a hip mall, or airport, food court, a friend and I surveyed the dining options on the bridge facing side and settled on Luck, even though the menu looked fairly similar to Resto. While the other 7 outlets had 5 – 10 diners at 8:30pm on a Thursday, Luck had a full patio which is a good sign, and from my experience, consistently the case. My friend chose LUCK for their extensive draft beer offerings, while oenophile me even lucked out with a red and white tap offering, $ 9. A few items looked decent on the not too large menu to make ordering challenging in a fun way. The red pozole soup @ $ 5 for a cup and $ 9 for a bowl and the meat pockets with beer cheese both barely lost out to the watermelon and jicama salad with arugula $ 10, with added seared tuna, $ 6. The tuna portion seemed large for the price, at around 6 – 8 ounces, and the salad was very healthy, with plenty of arugula and a nice mild cheese. My friend ordered the meatloaf $ 20, which was also large in portion, and was laid over mashed potatoes and a carrot purée. The meatloaf had a smoky bbq brisket quality to it that pleased me. Outdoor dining is on communal tables and can be covered when it rains. Fresh food and good portions punctuate a standard comfort food menu, where slight touches prevent predictability from being boring, while guaranteeing that everyone is happy. If a standardisation of Trinity Grove makes you feel like your eating at a hotel, at least it’s a boutique one.

LUCK is nestled in Trinity Groves that overlooks the skyline and the bridge beautifully. It’s definitely a scenic view and with the upcoming warm weather, this area is dope. They have over 50 beers on tap ready to go and you can easily get a flight to taste some beers. There are some I wish I had asked for a sample of prior to ordering the flight but alas, you win some and you lose some. I ordered the butternut squash salad with seared ahi tuna and Mr J ordered the fish and chips. Apparently, LUCK does not beat Old Monk for fish and chips but the salad was delicious. The ahi tuna was cooked perfectly but I was surprised that there were only strips of squash versus a behemoth of it. You’d think for its namesake there would be more squash but alas, that wasn’t the case. This is definitely a great little area with plenty of outdoor seating and a great view of downtown. I’m not head over heels for LUCK but I would definitely drop by again.

LUCK made for an enjoyable dinner. We came here on a Friday night and found parking in the large self-parking lot across the street fairly easily. We were seated right away with no reservation(do they even take reservations?). My father chose this place because he saw their local beer flights. We were seated inside, which was LOUD. It was definitely a party in there. It was pretty difficult to hear one another. Our waiter was very friendly, if not super attentive. My dad really enjoyed his flight of beers(it’s a pretty great deal, four small beers for $ 8), my boyfriend enjoyed his pint from Community Beer Company, I enjoyed my snifter Bishop Cider Crackberry… sensing a theme here? It’s all about local and craft, as the name states. Prices are a little high for the atmosphere. $ 17 for the Fish & Chips, which was really just two large pieces of deep fried fish served with actual potato chips(kind of a bummer, I love fries! Although the chips are housemade and they were tasty). I shared them with my boyfriend and we also split the Blueberry and Raw Butternut Squash Salad, which was unique and delicious and fresh-tasting. Maybe my favorite thing. My dad got the pretzel appetizer, which he enjoyed, and my mom ordered a house salad and the cheese grits, which she thought were too spicy but the rest of us devoured, dipping our chips and pretzels. It’s solid pub food, with some definite creative twists, and certainly worth your time.

Taste: 2⁄2 Value: 1⁄1 Ambience/service: 1⁄1 Will in I return? Yeah! 1⁄1 40 beers on tap, all supposedly from breweries within 75 miles of here. I definitely added a lot of DFW area breweries to my bucket list after trying their brews at LUCK! I had the Chosen One Coconut Ale and the Donut Dunker porter, both were really good! The coconut ale was slightly tangy and you could smell the coconut with each sip. The donut porter literally tasted like dark hazelnut coffee, not bitter, not sour, not fumey like dark beers with coffee notes tend to be. I was very satisfied! The beertender was friendly and offered lots of samples. All beers are $ 5, with just some of the stronger ABV beers as a $ 5 snifter rather than a $ 5 pint. They have lots of variety, so come with your friends even if they like wheat beers or milk stouts or cream ales! They also even have wine on tap, which was cool to watch. We didn’t get food but they have a full meal menu to go with your beers. The outdoor patio is also enclosed and linked with adjacent restaurants’ patios. There was live music and a DJ the night I was there, so outside seating is pretty loud. Beer flights of(4 samples) are only $ 5, the same price as a pint/snifter of one beer. I’ll be coming back to try more local brews. This place is chill and cool without feeling hipster, friendly without being pushy, and a good way to discover more of Dallas’s new craft brewery concoctions!

In the trendy Trinity Groves area, which is pretty much 100% surrounded by the ghetto if you didn’t know. Not saying it critically, they’re trying to build the area up, which is nice. They have seating both in and outside with a little bar on the inside. Theres also a nice big official sign posted on the doors saying that you are not allowed on their property if you have a handgun on you. Take that however you want. My server was pretty quick and to the point, which I actually appreciated because I was kind of in a hurry. The menu doesn’t have a ton of offerings, and there seems to be a lot of fried items. A bit overpriced in my opinion as well. $ 14 for a burger with cheese and bacon added. I ordered just a cheeseburger, medium well. It took literally over 20 minutes after I ordered to get my food and they were not very busy at all. I will say the burger was pretty good, very large. They’re going for the ‘urban hipster’ vibe here with a bunch of different craft beers etc, which I totally get. It just isn’t really my scene. Nothing special, good or bad. I doubt I’ll be back. 2 stars for the handgun ban and the whiny hipster music. Here’s my overall ratings– Atmosphere– 2.5÷5 Service– 3⁄5 Quality/value– 2.5÷5 Food– 3.5÷5

I’ve been wanting to check out the Trinity Grove area so one weekend when my husband wanted to hang out on a patio for dinner, I was delighted to finally check it out. I had never been to Trinity Grove area but I LOVEEED it upon arrival. (Side note, can’t wait to check out other spots in this plaza!) We got seated outside at first, but the breeze was pretty cold and shifted inside. The hostesses were very quick to help us get seated and readjusted. We quickly ordered food: Bierocks — interesting little concoctions, pretty heavy. Seared Brussel Sprouts — amaze. Calabacitas — delicious. Steak Salad — I thought this was okay. I asked for the meat medium well, and it was closer to rare. They were nice enough to split this into two portions for me and the husband since we shared and it was still a large portion each. I think the reason that this restaurant may not be as successful as it’s full potential is the service. Our waitress was nice, but seemed sad. We asked for recommendations for beer, and there was simply no help or knowledge from our waitress. One of our peeps ordered a beer, which they ran out of, however another waiter actually brought that same beer, which was sketchy because we also wanted wings but she said they were out of those. To be honest, the service really broke our experience here. I wanted to enjoy this place more than I actually did! Hopefully, I’ll have a different experience if we ever come check it out again!

Well, color me happy. We had driven all day from Tulsa and i definitely needed some outside help in the food and beverage department. Looked on Unilocal and found this place that had 40 beers on tap and I just didn’t see how i could go wrong. it is in a seemingly new place called trinity grove where there are multiple restaurant that all share walls with each other. they have covered outdoor seating and inside seating. We sat at the bar. I asked matt about the selection, he asked a few questions, and we were off to the races. he said that the 40 beers on tap are all from within 75 miles of there and that is exactly what I like to enjoy these days, fresh craft beer. Matt let me through a progression that made me very happy that I only had to still be able to call über when we were ready to go. We saw various food items while sitting at the bar and one of them is these balls. they are stuffed with some sort of meat and just brimming with flavor. Seems like they came with a couple of sauces. You get three and that was a perfect splitting between two people not quite ready to eat yet. Later we split the specialty pastrami sandwich what just amazing. Best we ever had. Came with some chips and a pickle and a lot of happiness. My wife tried some of the sours and thought they were nicely different. They even had some wine on tap. Tip: taste the ugly pug before you purchase it. I couldn’t drink it, and the guy next to me was so intrigued that i let him taste it and offered it for free and he wouldn’t take it. could be personal taste, just taste first. and along that topic, matt offered tastes pretty freely but that may have been inspired by my giving him some clue about the volume i was about to purchase. ha. We had a great time, will definitely return, and look forward to the weather being a little better so we can sit outside. Thanks Matt

If you’re looking for a great patio, the trinity groves area(LUCK and 7 other restaurants) is perfect. However, my experience at LUCK is very hit or miss, depending on the day. We sat at the bar on our last trip and one bartender thought us annoying because we asked about beer flights and his suggestions. The other bartender was helpful and stepped in. It took another customer to directly tell the bartender he is in the service industry and to not beat people down over questions, for him to shape up and be kind. I bought a $ 30 growler from him. On my occasional lunch visits, I’ve had the steak salad. It is wonderful!

Worst service ever! They never came by to take our drink order or food… We had to walk up there to flag someone down for help. Then the food came but it took us asking for utensils 3x before someone at our table got up and walked to ask the hostess. I get you’re busy but seriously??? Maybe you need to hire more staff to man all the tables! Food is terrible. The appetizers are flavorless, all you tasted was the sauce. The burger was dry. I’d vote for a fast food burger over this place any day of the week!

Absolutely LOVED this place. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and my husband had the meatloaf. Both were amazing, but my favorite item we ordered was the bierocks appetizer! The patio atmosphere is awesome and the fact that they are dog friendly(as are all of the other restaurants at trinity groves) means that we will definitely be frequenting this place! And the service was great too! Can’t wait to go back!

First time stopping my Trinity Grove so we decided to eat while in the area. We looked at the menu at each restaurant and saw Luck had good reviews on Unilocal so we decided to eat here. The patio atmosphere is great just like all the other restaurants in the area. We asked the waiter what he recommended and he proposed either the Smoked Meatloaf or Shrimp and grits dish. The pastrami sandwich caught my eye so I asked how this dish was. He mentioned it is one of the most popular dishes so I decided on this dish. According to the waiter, they smoke their pastrami for 15 hours unlike the pastrami in New York which is steamed so I decided to order this dish. The pastrami had a great smokey taste. The house mustard paired with the sourdough bread made it a great sandwich. The house fried chips were plain so I didn’t not care about it too much

Located in the über trendy Trinity Groves, LUCK is known for its«craft-style» beers and food. And they do deliver on the craft. They only have local craft beer on tap, which is actually very nice if you’re into flights or different types of brews. We tried a flight of several beers, another had some pink cider drink and another IPA. The cider drink was somewhat sweet – sort of like a strong raspberry kombucha tea. We had to wait for roughly 20 minutes, but it wasn’t too bad, as we sat at the bar and enjoyed some brews. As others have mentioned it is quite loud in the restaurant, and having a date anywhere near the kitchen, doors, or bar is virtually impossible. There are entirely too many tables in the restaurant for its size. The food was very good, and it made up for the noise. We started with the Bierballs or something like that. They’re these little meat wrapped in pretzel dough and fried/broiled. There are three served with the appetizer, and they come with a beer au jus and beer cheese. For dinner my husband had the Hot Chicken; this plate was good, but nothing stood out in terms of uniqueness or flair when it came to how the chicken was cooked or presented. It was hot style chicken, plain and simple. I had the shrimp and grits. Topped with a fried egg, the grits soaked up the sauce of the shrimp and the yolk of the egg almost instantaneously. Very scrumptious!

This gorgeous sunny January day brought us to LUCK for lunch. Hubby & I located the perfect table situated partially in the sun, with slight cool 68 degree occasional breeze keeping us comfortably happy. I love those outside tables! We knew right off the bat that we were going to share a plate of those tasty smoked BBQ wings! No words were spoken, just lots of mmm-ing! Soon Christian delivered our entrees… I ordered the Smoked Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Candied Carrot Purée with Au Jus Gravy. It was simply delicious! The Meatloaf had a slight crust on the outside which made it even that much better. Hubby ordered the Signature Pastrami Sandwich. The«Texas Brisket Style» Pastrami is House Cured for 3 days and is smoked for 15 hours with Stone Ground Mustard, Caramelized Onions, and Melted Swiss Cheese on Sourdough Bread. I can see why it’s a LUCK Signature Sandwich! It’s super good! It was the perfect day to enjoy lunch at LUCK. Christian offered up some great service & was perfectly attentive. We really enjoy LUCK. We’ll Be Baaack!

I will admit that yes, I think brunch is a little over-rated so I wasn’t expecting much when I came to LUCK for brunch on Sunday. However, they showed me just how wonderful brunch can be. My party and I sat down and ordered an array of the brunch selections and man were they all good. We ordered the wings, bacon cinamon rolls, bread pudding french toast, pastrami eggs bendict, and another dish that had nachos and shrimp. Everything was really delicious and nothing lacked flavor. Stand outs for me are the bacon cinamon rolls and man that pastrami eggs benedict was finger licking good. The pastrami was very savory and the perfectly poached eggs balanced the whole dish perfectly. They only have two bathrooms and one of them was broken when I came so there was a line for the only restroom they had, hopefully this gets fixed next time I come. Service was great! I will definitly come back if I ever find myself near trinity grooves.
