This is hands-down the best place in DFW for beer. The Moth is a calm, semi-quiet, intimate setting with 40 taps of craft — and maybe a cask or two. I always go and sit at the bar or along the rail that separates the bar area from table seating. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I did not care for their meat and cheese platter, but their hummus is probably the best I’ve had — just the perfect amount of spice! There is also a patio if you would like to sit outside with a group.

I went here for lunch and I ordered a skirt steak– It was the most flavorful steak and very well cooked. I loved it!!! Tables have white paper on them making them look nice and proper but the menu prices are very reasonable. Our waiter Christian was helpful as well. I will be coming back again to try their dinner menu items for sure!

We did take out, and the service was pretty fast. Food was very good, as well! I got the steak and stout pot pie and my husband got the ribs! Delish! The ribs fell off the bone. This is definitely going to be a go to place of ours!

I’ve eaten here both for brunch and for dinner. I have to say that this is one of my go-to restaurants in Dallas. The French press coffee is delicious, and the beer selection is vast and full of great options. I highly recommend the Ascension Coffee Porter. The servers also know what they’re talking about when you ask them for beer or wine pairings to make your meal even that much more delicious. All-in-all, the food and service are always fantastic. Highly recommended.

I was here this past Saturday for my birthday dinner with friends and we had a great time. I love the idea of family plates when I’m with friends. We had the shrimp and grits, soft shelled crab, roasted pear and walnut salad, papaya guacamole, and the hungry farmer. Every dish was really good and the only complaint was this brown sauce that was on the hungry farmer which had a weird texture to it. We ordered Moscow Mules and Belgium beer for our drinks. The stained glass windows look amazing and we had an amazing experience. The service here is really good as well.

Meddlesome Moth is a hit and miss when it comes to service. Probably I visit during peak hours. Overall, the place is impressive. Food is great and in fair price. Though the beer is pricey, yet the atmosphere is cool and relaxing.

Great service and good food! Not bad for sharing some plates with friends. Came here yesterday for a late b-day celebration. Had the scallops, ribs, bratwurst, chicken skins, guan and chips and moth balls. Overall a great experience!

I’ve been here a couple times, and it has been pretty on point each time. The place has a broody pub vibe. The music is slightly on the louder side, and was hard to hear the other end of the table. The Beer selection is pretty extensive, however, the specialty cocktails were just okay. Wasn’t too impressed with it. Most of the menu is very shared plates/tapas style. We started with the Hungry Farmer, which is their cheese/antipasto plate. It had a pretty good selection of cheeses and assorted prosciutto and cured meats. We also had the hummus, which was a good but the pita it came with was not warm or toasted(not sure if that is how it’s served are just a miss). We also had the Shrimp and Grits, which was the right combination of huge and juicy. The Baby Back Ribs were pretty good but not great, they were on the drier side, but that’s just me being picky about my ribs(it is the South after all). All in all, it was a pretty good experience. On a separate trip, I’ve also gotten the Steak Frites, which was actually amazing for an 11:00pm arrival. Their med-rare steak was pretty on point. the Fries were pretty good, but it’s hard to mess up fries in my opinion. Great place for an evening dinner, Happy hour, or a date. Will def be coming back!

A friend and I visited this restaurant during a gastropub crawl in Dallas last night, and this was by far the best stop on our journey. Though we were only there for about an hour, it was a heck of a visit and we probably should’ve stayed longer. I had the Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA(always a good choice when available) from their extensive quality beer list, the table side French press moth coffee, and the Nueske bacon(pork belly lollipops). The interior is dimly lit with classic trendy décor and features beautiful Mosiac glass artwork in the main dining area. The crowd was a mix of businesspeople and hip 20 somethings. I will definitely be back in the future!

This place is so fun to come with your friends! Great ambiance & huge cocktail menu! I love a good tasty yet pretty drink! The food is great. It’s more of a tapas place in my opinion. Great size dishes to all share and try. The bacon lollipops is my absolute favorite! It has such a nice glazed sweet and savory taste to it. Thick slice of pork w/a bed of funnel cake! Also try the bone marrow and garlic buttered mussels!

The Meddlesome Moth truly is meddlesome when it comes to brunch; both your wallet and your expectations will be thoroughly meddled with. While the atmosphere and feel of the place gave me high hopes, at the end of my meal I couldn’t help but regret going there. It was an average Sunday, fairly busy, but we got a table right away. We ordered the Morning Buns to start and a carafe of their mimosas. The carafe came first, and neither our waiter nor the man serving it addressed us. They proceeded to pour our drinks and leave. The mimosa tasted standard. The buns were brought pretty quickly, but to our disappointment, they were cold. Oddly enough, they were presented on a cast iron skillet as if at one point in time, in the distant past I’m presuming, they had been baked on it fresh. While they tasted ok and the frosting wasn’t too heavy despite being copiously drizzled on top, for $ 10, how are you going to serve me 4 small cold cinnamon buns? For our meals, we got the Two Hens Eggs with potatoes and what we thought would be a substitute yogurt, and the Pork Cheeks Hash. When the meals came, the waiter had forgotten about our substitution and the Hens Eggs was served with fruit and English muffins; the English muffins were then switched out for potatoes, with apparently no yogurt. In terms of taste, our food was painfully average, if not overwhelmingly subpar due to the price. The Pork Cheeks Hash was put together well and you could taste all of the components, but it was bland with nothing standing out except the taste of caramelized onions. The Two Hens Eggs, while asked to be cooked scrambled and were done so well, were unflavored like there had been no salt or pepper mixed in. Even more so, no one stopped by our table long enough for us to ask for salt and pepper shakers. At one point in time, our waiter simply walked by and gave us a passing thumbs up. I guess that’s what he considered as «checking up» on us? Did I mention that none of the food was hot but just barely warm? Must be a new trend that I haven’t picked up on yet. Overall, I was quite disappointed with brunch at the Meddlesome Moth. I’m not sure if they’re not known for brunch or were having an off day, but my wallet will not allow me to make excuses for them. At a total of $ 54 for two people, not including tip, you would expect quality and care put into the preparation and service of our meal. Instead, we were given nothing more than a «trendy» atmosphere and a poor experience. With so many other good gastropubs and restaurants in Dallas, and so many less-loftier-named«pubs» serving awesome food and great drinks at a price point way below, the question remains: why would you let a Meddlesome Moth ruin your Sunday morning and make your wallet cry? Need I say more?

So I have been here a few times and tried some more dishes. I added one star because I really do appreciate the creativity that they have put into their dishes and the interesting flavor profiles. The Mother & Child Reunion was pretty good(chicken friend chicken with two poached eggs, grits, and a refreshing green chili sauce). However, the food lacks the proper seasoning, as in it remains bland and that’s why I cannot give 5 stars. I understand that adding salt and pepper should be optional; however, everything I have tried thus far on the savory dishes could be upped on flavor points. Waffles and pancakes are always on point! Also, service by our waitress was great! Will be back for sure! :)

Had a great lunch my first time at the Moth(finally!). The place has great energy, youthful, unique servers, and creative décor and ambiance. Having ordered fairly conservatively, I can’t say that the croissant chicken-salad sandwich and fresh greens changed my life, but I ate every bit. The bourbon cherry cobbler was disappointing only because I couldn’t really taste the bourbon at all, but it, too, went the way of the lunch and my plate was clean. ;) It was a really enjoyable occasion and I’m looking forward to trying it for dinner.

Goodness gracious, I’m so glad my hubby introduced me to this place. That was some good eatin. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened, and I’m glad we did. People swarmed in shortly after the doors opened. We too were seated shortly after entering, thankfully. I love the ambience, and the table we were seated was next to a window with a view of the«patio». Moving on, I ordered one entrée and, my dining companion ordered two. Just indecisive. We decided to have mimosas before our food arrived. They were a little too strong for me, although my companion enjoyed them. So out comes our entrees, and we dug right in. I loved my food, and so did my companion. Next time we’ll go and have dinner there, I’ve read great things about those bacon lollipops.

This place is a MUST when in Dallas! My boyfriend and I visited from Stockton, CA. We found the menu to be very unique and decided to give this a go. We are true food fanatics! This place tops it! We started with the Seared Ahi Tuna — The flavors complimented one another, just be careful with the jalapeño. The tuna could have been a bit more fresh but delicious either way. The second was the Beef Bonemarrow– This one was hard to tell. The herb topping masked the flavor of the marrow. We would suggest to go light on the herb sauce if you want and like that marrow taste. In regards to the herb sauce it was delicious! especially with that toasted bread. Combination made in heaven. Third was the Rabbit Pot Pie– This is the one you must order to finish off your meal! it was AMAZING! The crust was perfect the inside was perfect, the rabbit was perfect. Just Perfection. Im telling you guys it is a must! The final one was the Tandoori Lamb– This one was not so great. The links were overwhelmed with spices you had zero taste of the lamb. The only downer of our meal. The service was outstanding. very nice servers and gave great suggestions in regards to the night life and events near by. Any drink you get is very tasty. Cant go wrong. We are truly dissapointed that we dont have this place near our home.

Excellent brunch food. Possibly the highest quality brunch food we’ve had in Dallas, and we brunch a lot. Based purely on food, this review would be five-stars. One star missing for lackluster service and atmosphere. We came here at 2pm for a late brunch on a Sunday. Despite the late hour, the place was packed! The hostess was very nice and asked us if we would prefer inside or covered patio. It was a sunny day, so we chose covered patio. Sadly, this was a bad choice. The covered patio was so cacophonous that my boyfriend and I literally had to touch our heads together in order to hear one another. We were seated right next to the bussing station, so loud crashes of dishes being sorted beside us didn’t help matters. Unlike the tables inside, which are covered in white tablecloths, the patio tables are slatted wood, like picnic tables. After a while, our server approached us and asked us if we would like anything to drink. We asked for water and ordered the Morning Buns($ 10) for the table. She let us know that our buns might come before our water(weird) but didn’t mention that they might also come before our silverware(we had to ask a passing server – not our own – for silverware and napkins). The buns were UNREAL. Seriously, out of this world. To be fair, it’s been a while since I’ve had a cinnamon roll, but as far as I’m concerned, these were the best cinnamon rolls EVER. Four little rolls were served in a cast iron skillet and covered in delicious icing. We gobbled them right up. I highly recommend this dish. When our server returned(again, after a while) we ordered our entrees: the Farm Fresh Three-Egg Omelette($ 12) for me and the Creole Eggs Benedict($ 15) for my boyfriend. I also ordered a mimosa, which is $ 6/glass or $ 15/carafe(get the carafe if you want more than a single glass, it’s a way better deal). Our meals came out fairly promptly, and again, they were AMAZING. I have to use all caps to describe this because I need to shout it at you. AMAZING. The omelette was filled with avocado and pepper jack cheese and topped with avocado, and it came with delicious brunch potatoes and a little cup of flavorful salsa. My boyfriend’s Creole Eggs Benedict was served on a biscuit, piled high with fried green tomatoes, crawfish étouffée, two poached eggs, and a cayenne hollandaise to die for. Also served with brunch potatoes, that dish may have won the whole brunch. As happy as we were with our food, I was disappointed to learn after our meal that there were specials on the chalkboard just out of our eye line that sounded equally amazing, and I would have appreciated our server letting us know about them. We weren’t ever really checked on throughout our meal and felt mostly left to fend for ourselves. So, overall: great food(really great) but the atmosphere(at least on the covered patio) and the service doesn’t live up to the bar set by the quality of the food itself.

Great little place in Dallas for the small plate sharing tapas style eating. Also for trying beers. We got the flight with five 5 oz tasters for twenty bucks. Price is decent and there were what had to be around 40 different beers to try. Nice selection. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. We got the bacon skewers, Moth balls, deep fried chicken skins and rabbit pot pie. The moth balls were a kind of perogie filled with cheese covered with pesto and cream. Very rich. The rabbit pot pie is self explanatory and one could really taste the fennel and mushrooms. Pretty decent. The bacon and chicken skins stood out though. Dishes perfectly combining sweet and savory they certainly would pave the way for a perfect combination with beer! A great place for a date, the ambiance is dark and classy with friendly service. Come and entertain your taste buds!

Phenomenal experience. My husband is one of their reps so I joined him for lunch! Wow! I was blown away. The décor is super cool and I couldn’t believe how big it was. We sat at the bar and had a Destihl Flanders Red and it was the perfect sour/Carmel/deliciousness beer for a sunny winter day Now food… I’m a mussels snob. I was pleased to see they had 4 different types on the lunch menu. I ordered the El Diablo. Super delicious. I like my mussels simple but full of flavor. Some places put too much in them. These were simple but with a kick. They were incredible. Also, EVERYSINGLESHELL had a mussel in them. They were cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to come back for dinner. I will be back… quite often… seriously, they might get sick of me

I came here for dinner eons ago and came back for a birthday brunch with my best friend. I figured I was long overdue for a review here. A great brunch option in the design district if you’re tired of the regular spots around McKinney. VENUE: just off oak lawn and around the corner from Ascension. If you live around McKinney Ave. and hall, it’ll cost you under $ 6 to über here. They recently added a heated patio — GOFORTHEPATIO!!! It’s warm and bright and seats less so you can actually hear the people you’re sitting around. There’s ample seating indoors as well but if you’re facing the brunch crowd you might have to wait longer for a table on the main floor. The bar is first come I believe and they serve brunch their as well. FOOD/DRINK: Pepper jack quiche served with a side salad(special): what a portion! The slice of quiche was so thick and the eggs are fluffy. The pepper jack doesn’t over power the quiche but you still get that nice little kick of flavor. The crust was buttery but not greasy. Salad is standard. Greens with a light vinegarette. It makes for a nice juxtaposition to the heavier quiche. the country breakfast: my gf got this and it was DELISH. A menu staple. The pork is nice and tender and pairs wonderfully with the grits. I only got one bite but my friend killed her whole bowl. Fig/Berry bourbon Pancake(special): comes with three pancakes all huge and fluffy!!! They come covered in blueberries, blackberries, pecans, and of course figs. And then we drowned the entire thing with their bourbon syrup. Holy cow. It was sooo good. We ordered this as our«dessert» and had a hard time finishing it but I would say it could easily feed two. We topped everything off with mimosas. We ordered a carafe and we both got smashed. I’d say we were able to have about 3 – 4 refills? I’m thinking a carafe could be shared comfortably between three people. SERVICE: our server was GREAT. He was so attentive and our glasses never emptied. We had come at 11 on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait to be sat. But then the lunch rush came and I guess our server got swept up in that madness. We waited a bit longer than I would have liked for our check but we weren’t in a rush to be anywhere and we had camped out for a good hour and half anyway. His service was still amazing and every other server we interacted with in between was delightful. Made for an awesome dining experience. I will need to remember this place exists the next time I think about braving the line at breadwinners.

We came here on NYE. Reservation was made at the last minute, but thank to their new additional covered patio seating, we were able to get in. I was looking forward to try some of their delicious dishes, already picked out what I was gonna order from constantly checking out their pictures on Unilocal prior to coming here. Surprisingly not surprising, they were offering the special 4 course menu only for NYE so that’s what we went with. Everything was perfectly made from the texture to the flavor. The only dishes I didn’t like too much were my entrée– the scallop in a butter sauce and the lemon pudding cake. I opted for the seafood option, thinking it’d be healthier. Boy was I wrong, the dish came out looking amazing, but I felt like I was eating straight butter. There was still some unmelted butter in the sauce, not sure if that was their intention or not, but it wasn’t very appealing to me. My date’s dessert, the lemon pudding cake was a little tough and not that moist, and especially didn’t taste like pudding. Regardless of those hiccups listed above, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and the setting. Even better when all the waitresses that night dolled up big time, with long black cocktail dresses that have pretty deep cut in the back. Especially our waitress, with amazingly defined back and upper body. Eye candies are always a plus with me lol
