I came here around 4 pm on a Saturday there were two ppl at the bar. One couple at a table and one person on the other side of the bar. I had some pretty subpar service. I sat at the bar thinking it’ll be a quick and easy way for me to grab a bite to eat. It took forever for the bartender to bring my drink and take my order. Other than that the food are in good portioned sizes and my meal was very tasty.

First of all, the margaritas were amaaaazing. The manager was super great and came over to us and talked with us. He offered us a sample of the pomegranate margarita which was great as well. Great Staff and the chips and salsa were great as well. Will definitely come back! Ps — as you head down Hi line dr, the restaurant is on your LEFT not the right like google maps will tell you.

Ummmm so this place is fairly new and still trying to find its way. My bf lives in the apartments there and so we walked down to try it out. Food was not bad actually and there were plenty of tv’s to watch the games. However we went Friday night and it was close to empty. Our waitress was hilarious in that she did not give a fudge! Lol. Not in a mean way but definitely not professional either. The manager cane by to ask if she was taking care of us also. I think there will be many changes to come here, most likely in staff.

I’ve been to this location before and was less than impressed since I knew the old primos. The new owners seem to get it — they knew the first concept wasn’t working, so they went back to the original concept. Margaritas are great, queso is amazing, food is on point, and servers are great. We will be back.

Popped in here for a quick drink after work. The service was ok and the jalapeño poppers were meh. I will go back and give them another try

Unbelievable how this place has changed in just a couple months… I wanted to give it a second try, after first attempt had poor service and very long food times… Evidently there are new managers/owners, and everything was wonderful… Perfect food, and great service. Margaritas were amazing, reminds me of Primos on McKinney!

Was visiting Dallas on a convention. We went here for dinner. The general manager name is Matt Schulze. He was friendly and if you have any issues, he will make it right. He made sure our glasses were never empty. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas for12.00(great price) I ordered the steak medium rare. It came medium well but Mike told me he can have it change to medium rare and it would be no trouble whatsoever. Told him it was okay because the steak was still very tender and not dry. The chicken was also juicy as well. Our entrée was really good. He came by a few times to make sure everything was okay. The service was awesome with the waitresses too. Making sure we were okay. I will definitely come back again when I visit. Great food and service. What else can you ask for. Thanks Matt for a great dining experience!

The food here is pretty good. It isn’t the best ever, but it’s definitely above average. And it’s also affordable. $ 10 for a huge chicken enchilada plate is a winner for me, but the last two times I got it, the sauce was different. Both sauces were good, but the inconsistency is a mystery. The meat is always good quality(I’ve found meat at mexican places can be hit os miss) and the portions are a good size. They also have good happy hour and margarita specials and a really nice room with pool tables. I would however skip the queso fundido, it is a bit bland.

Staff is friendly. Food is alright. I feel so mean saying this but our bartender had an open wound on her leg and once I saw it I couldn’t handle being there. Just cover it up. She was nice though. Probably not coming back but not just because of the wound.

Stopped in here for quick bite and drink before concert… House margaritas on the rocks, very good. Ordered couple appetizers– ceviche and brisket nachos Both far passed our expectations! I don’t typically care for nachos but these delish! Crema fresca and slices of avacado on top of big tortilla chips… Pleasant surprise

$ 2 margaritas on Tuesday, can’t complain. Got hair on one, but easily replaced so it’s all good. Nachos look good, see the pic! This place is bumpin on Tuesdays!

I was not encouraged by the reviews posted here so I was a bit leery. HOWEVER… The bar tenders and bar service was excellent! So friendly and accommodating. We had house margaritas(one frozen, one rocks). The frozen was ok and I don’t drink Rita’s on the rocks. Lots of beers on draft including a selection from down the street at the Texas Ale Project. XX(both), Shiner, TAP selection, shock Top, and others. Loved their chips and salsa(both red and green). Also split shrimp fajitas; I could have easily eaten the entire order. Fajitas were good, the tortillas were also petty good(served hot!) and the fajita skillet had tons of perfectly done peppers and onions. Overall, food was meh and so were the Rita’s, however… something is telling me I’ll be back there soon. Fantastically great servers and service! Sit at the bar.

I keep reading bad reviews about this place but wanted to try it for myself. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night. I had the brisket tacos and he had the carne enchiladas. They were both excellent. I can speak more for the tacos, and I can tell you it was some of the best brisket I’ve had. I also ordered a pomegranate margarita and it was very good. In fact, we had a few of those. Devonte was our server and he was super pleasant and attentive; just a really nice guy! We’ll definitely be coming back here!

The appearance definitely has quality. I kind of like that it’s hidden. Although it would be nice if there was another restaurant around to have more of a selection. Overall they have some decent tex mex food. The tacos are good. The service is good & you don’t have to wait to be seated. Salsa and chips were great too. The only Debbie downer are the margaritas. I tried a regular margarita & a swirl. Both are a little too strong to finish. I would have to compare them to Gloria’s margaritas. Almost the same.

The service was great and the salsa was really good… The queso could’ve been less watery and the cheese Relleno was ok… The beer selection was great. I’ve been told that the ceviche was excellent so I’ll go back and give it another try. If anything, go for the chips and salsa and great beer selection while sitting outside.

We will not be back. This is a place my husband and his family went to when he was growing up, so you can imagine we were overjoyed to see it had reopened in a new location. The first thing we were greeted with was an ambience that looked like a cheap chain place. It actually sort of reminded me of the restaurant in Fresh Off The Boat, though a little less over the top. We ordered the fundito, and the server said, «you know it’s just a bowl of melted cheese, right?» Great attitude. Plus, despite having other ingredients listed, it did, in fact, taste like a bowl of melted cheese. This deserves its own paragraph — THEYDONOTHAVESTREETTACOS! What?! Why not? That was the best thing on the menu! One of the top, at least. Disappointing. The margaritas were just okay, the beef tacos were also just okay. The service took forever. I already said it, but sadly, we will not be back.

This place is terrible. Worst margaritas I’ve ever had in my life. Be advised, this is not the same ownership or operation as the old McKinney Ave location. The new owners simply purchased the Primo’s name. The food and service are completely different. Brisket is tough, fajitas are chewy and gross, and worst of all, the queso is some kind of powdery mix and tastes like cheese whiz. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Any similarities to the old Primo’s stops with the name.

Primo’s has opened a new location at 1400 Hi Line. I never ate at the Primo’s on McKinney and just went there more for socializing. This new location is really spacious and I really like how wide open. It has a little nook with couches and a coffee table right by the bar, almost like a mini lounge area. The bar area has one huge long table for big parties and then several small tables. The bar area is almost half the restaurant. There is an area for regular dining with several booths and tables. The food was really good. We ordered nachos and queso for appetizers. One of the people I was with is really particular about what they eat and the waiter got the nacho order correctly. We were all surprised because it was kind of difficult. I ordered fajitas and the meat was so good. I got combo with steak and chicken. The steak was good quality meat and the chicken was marinated in a yummy cilantro marinate. So yummy and they were only $ 12 for fajitas which I though was really reasonably priced for the quality of meat. I will say that I love homemade tortillas and is was disappointed that the tortillas didn’t seem to be homemade like other restaurants. My friend got brisket taco and she loved them. The wait staff was really friendly but you could tell they are still getting use to covering all the tables and working together so I would just recommend to have some patience. I think after they are open for a few more weeks this will work itself out. Otherwise Primo’s is a pretty good Tex Mex restaurant. I will definitely be back.
