«Hey, I’d like to place an order for delivery…» «We stopped delivering.» «What time did you stop delivering?» «2:30.» “It’s 2:08!!!” On a Saturday.

My boyfriend and I have had delivery twice in one week here, and have no complaints. We ordered the same thing both times. The California roll, the Spicy Tuna roll, and spring rolls. My boyfriend loved his, and mine was just as spicy as I like it! The sweet and sour sauce is amazing. All was delicious, and we didn’t have any problems or any miscommunication about our orders. The delivery man was nice, and arrived in a good amount of time. The reviews had me worried, but both times we had it delivered, were great! Can’t wait to order again!

Gross. I just got delivery — took maybe 20 minutes. Was almost cold? I got the crunchy roll — nasty and fishy. Also got the chicken lettuce wrap? Tasted like cheap stuffing mix? Gross gross gross.

me and my boyfriend agree, some of the best late night eating we have ever had. gotta love sushi being delivered to your doorstep! I would have given this place 5 stars, except they didn’t have yumyum sauce or teriyaki. Try the volcano roll you won’t be disappointed!

My girlfriends and I found ourselves on Lower Greenville once again, saw Nandina and ventured in! Service: This is the only reason I’m rating Nandina a 3 instead of a 4. I wasn’t expecting amazing service going in but I shouldn’t have to go on a quest for my server every time I need something. He was no where to be found half the time so that annoyed us big time. Drinks: I ordered the Thai Muay and I kid you not, that was one of the best cocktails I have ever had. It was definitely strong but you couldn’t taste the alcohol too much. The mixture of pineapple and grenadine made it the perfect fruity/sweet(but not too sweet) concoction. And if you LOVE Captain Morgan spiced rum like I do, you will love this. I definitely give it 5 stars. Food: We started off with Fried Calamari which was definitely smaller in portion size than what I’m used to ordering at other places. It wasn’t seasoned that well but it was alright. We all decided to go with sushi for our entrees. I ordered the Philadelphia Roll! I’ve had this before at other places but it was still so good here. Like I’ve said in other reviews, if you don’t eat sushi much and you’re just getting into it, I definitely recommend the Philadelphia Roll. It’s smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese. I love it every time I get it. I also tried my friend’s California Super Crunch Roll which was definitely super crunchy. I wasn’t a big fan of it because I didn’t like the texture too much but she loved it so I would recommend that also. Ambiance: The interior is beautiful! The first thing I noticed was how clean it was which is definitely a big deal to me when it comes to sushi bars especially. The restaurant has a very trendy and modern feel to it. You wouldn’t expect it to be so nice when you’re outside but this place is really nice. Nandina is great for late nights because they stay open until 2:45am. They are also great for groups and also for a charming date night!

Nandina … The most inconvenient convenient restaurant of all time! I remember really liking this place years ago. But, let’s be honest, I now really only order food for delivery. I gave them one star for how quickly they get here and the delivery people are nice. Note they are 5 mins down the street. But they always get my order wrong. Maybe it’s my bad luck. It is irritating to wait 30 — 40 mins to be disappointed and then wait another 30 — 40 mins. When the order isn’t messed up the food is pretty much«okay». Not great. Not good. Just okay.

We enjoyed Pad Kee Mow(drunken noodles) paired with lettuce raps and the heaven beef. And was it ever! If you find yourself in Dallas in some late spring evening, and i beg you do, I hope you’ll have gone to the jmblya show downtown and retired with your besties to Lakewood. I had an emotional experience with the rice. Highly recommend.

They are LIARS! I have been eating here for years and order the same thing everytime-Which they say can be made vegetarian without fishstock Today when I called I asked(just to make sure because it is been a few months since eating here) and they said they have always put fishstock and dont tell the customers because you dont taste it. it just adds flavor. I then explained that they had been lying to me for years then and she changed her story and said oh no … i mean it can be made without it. if you ask for it vegetarian. yep. caught her in her own lie! Apparently cannot be trusted for a delivery order. We ordered through their online delivery(eat24hours) and were pretty clear about what we wanted. About 30 minutes later we got an email from eat24 saying our order had been canceled. Eat24 said Nandina tried to call us for something and canceled the order when they couldn’t reach us. Granted there was 1 missed call, but they didn’t try a 2nd time and didn’t leave a message. Definitely not pleased.

They deliver till 3am! No I was not up at this time. We got home around 10:30pm from vacation and were starving. 4 hours on a flight with only a bag of peanuts makes one a bit hungry. We ordered the drunken noodles and pad Thai. I have to say both were good! Not the best in Dallas but definitely tailing close behind! The portion sizes are huge. $ 8.95 for a two portion size meal! No complaints here! I have lunch for tomorrow! The driver that delivered was so nice! I’ll for sure order from here again!

This is our go-to spot for the late nights after the club… the waitstaff is nice and the ambience is just real chill and laid back. The ONLY thing I noticed every time I visit is a smell when you walk in. It’s like a mildewy, old dish water smell. Once you have a seat at your table though, it’s gone. ALSO, their bathrooms, not the most sanitary. Always messy and once I saw a roach in there, crawling near me feet… I damn near died. But ANYWAYS, to the good stuff! The food! Their Drunken Noodles are AMAZING! Clean plate EVERYTIME. I get the combination(shrimp, chicken & beef) and it comes out freshly cooked, piping hot every time. I also suggest the Heaven Beef and the Seaweed Salad… DELISH!

I have heard of Nandina for many years but finally gave it a try on a whim after driving past it on the way to my regular sushi joint. Even after struggling to find parking, we still decided to give it a try. We should have just kept on going… First of all, the smell of sewage hit us in the face as we walked in. Definately not a smell you want to be confronted with when eating raw fish! The place was totally dead at 8:30 on a Saturday night– not a good sign. Three of us at the table ordered sushi while one person ordered a noodle dish. Unfortunately, they did not time it correctly and he was finished with his noodle dish before our sushi even came out. Timing shouldn’t be that difficult when there are only two tables seated in the entire place! The sushi options are limited compared to most sushi restaurants in Dallas. I was underwhelmed completely– not that the sushi was awful but it just wan’t all that good. The nigiri we ordered was tepid and somewhat unappetizing. Apparently the noodle dish was good. I can’t say I’ll come back here again… even if a friend suggests it. I’ll have to pass.

The smell when you walk in is one of the most disgusting things I ave ever experienced in a restaurant. Clearly they have some sewage issues… But they should not be allowed to operate until they address those issues. Luckily they have another room where it doesn’t stink. We ordered off the happy hour menu and were pleased with the food and service. However, we won’t be returning until they fix the awful smell.

I use to come here many years ago. It’s changed. Drastically. I’ve always thought its difficult to fine good Thai food, this still holds true. I ordered the drunken noodles. Taste like something is missing. The panang curry, decent. :/

Straight to point: Great food, Poor service. The thing is that it’s to the extreme. One of the best Asian food I have had but horrible service. You step in and the smell and atmosphere make you fill like in a camping(with fly and stuff…). The food is good but if that’s the way the place look I don’t want to know how they work in the kitchen… After that I have decided not to come back and then I told myself, OK the food is OK so just have it delivered. What a terrible mistake!!! The guy showed up after an hour and 45 min with cold food and missing the rice !!! When I called after an hour they guy didn’t even care! he said I called 20 min ago and when I told him I ordered aniline and the time is recording, he just said: «so you want or not?» not even an a apology! They may be busy or the order was lost somehow, things happen sometimes, but common! not an apology? not even trying to make it right(offer a drink or a spring roll for next order…). I wont give them a business again, There is many more great Asian restaurants in Dallas.

I really do hate giving bad reviews to a restaurant but this was just horrible. Right when you step in, you immediately smell bleach and cleaning supplies. As if they were trying to cover up other stenches. We sat down and ordered a few drinks and I ordered the«Chicken Lettuce Wraps». Horrible. Finely minced of what seems to not be chicken and other fillers. It also tasted like it was microwaved. The worst part was when gnats started to fly around our food. And they were big gnats too. Ones that seem like they have been living the life at Nandina’s. **Warning: if there are gnats flying around your table, you probably don’t want to know what’s flying around in the kitchen. Check please. Even with happy hour everyday until Midnight, I can’t even think about going back.

Part of me feels compelled to give two stars just because there are so many better sushi places. The sushi was just alright, average. The service was lacking in that the waiter was a bit too ambitious and over zealous checking in about every single minute asking if he could clear anything, what we ordered, etc. We ordered edamame and three rolls and got two rolls, the edamame and then the third roll. Just wasn’t over impressed.

Dining with Hubby’s college chums is always fun and somewhat revealing, unfortunately for him. We were in town for a certain sporting event(OU sucks) and gathered here the night before in a celebratory mood. The food and service was excellent! This meal was just what we needed to fortify ourselves before the game(OU sucks) the following day. Several of the guys had beer and hot sake and all the ladies enjoyed a tasty cocktail called«Ripe and Ready»…because we are! Our shared appetizers consisted of crispy shrimp, steamed pork dumplings and crab rangoon dip served with wonton chips. Each item was freshly prepared and delicious. I had the Thai Garlic Chicken for dinner which was tossed with perfectly cooked carrots, zuccini, onions, broccoli and fried garlic in a brown sauce. Just seeing«garlic» as part of a dish gives me a rapid heartbeat. I’m a bit of a Goldilocks when it comes to rice and the beautifully formed peak of jasmine rice was cooked exactly like I like it. Not too soft or too firm, but just right. As we left, I caught a slight whiff of sewer gas in the parking lot, something the owners should probably look into. There may be a broken city pipe or the trap under the building simply needs to be flushed. I will not go into what happened the next day on the football field but will say that while OU sucks, Nandina is great.

I love finding a good happy hour. I was very excited to try Nandina after seeing a banner advertising their happy hour on the Dallas Observer’s website. Unfortunately, Nandina’s happy hour made me anything but happy. Before I launch into a list of negatives, here’s what I liked: ~The water wall out front is awesome. Here’s where it all went wrong: ~My son and I arrived right after opening and it was hotter than hell inside. I understand turning off the A/C when you aren’t open, but when it’s 100 outside, at least turn the damn thing on early enough to cool down the space. To prove my point, it was nice and cool when we left over an hour later. ~The happy hour I was so excited to try is only offered if you sit at the bar or the sushi bar. Not a problem when I ‘m with my husband, but I don’t want to sit at the bar with my son and the staff was eating dinner at the sushi bar. No happy hour for me. ~Our table was constantly being buzzed by flies and gnats. I prefer my sushi without the flying bugs, thanks. ~The sushi wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t great. The Spicy Alaskan Roll was a salmon roll with something akin to chili powder sprinkled on top. I like crunchy rolls, but the crunch from the spices was not pleasant. The Nandina Roll was wrapped in cucumber and was impossible to eat. Not only did I have to use my hands(authentic experience aside, I prefer to use chopsticks) I had to bite it in half, which left a mess of ingredients on my plate that I then had to scoop up with my fingers. Meh. ~There was a serious communication gap between us and our server. She was nice but she had a difficult time understanding us and there was very little that we understood from her. The carbonation was out on my son’s Dr. Pepper and she had no idea what we were talking about. She did take his cup and bring him a new one — that also had no carbonation. ~The $ 5 chocolate cake dessert was just sad. A frozen little cake, smaller than the palm of my hand, with microwaved chocolate sauce on top, surrounded by a scoop of Blue Bunny ice cream, whipped cream and strawberry jam. Not at all interesting, unique or even good for that matter. My chocoholic son took one bite and left the rest on his plate. Overall, I was completely underwhelmed with my Nandina experience. If I’m going to pay $ 65 for a couple of rolls and a few orders of nigiri, I’d much rather go to Teppo and have badass sushi and service.
