Food was a little less than just ok. Phở was nothing to brag about, Spring Roll was bland and boring. The place has no atmosphere but the worst part of the entire visit was the cashier. An obnoxious kind of a guy with a dirty looking beard, a ridiculous cap and a horrible attitude. His entire demeanor was a real turn off and the nickle and dime attitude of the management was a turn off as well. Extra charge for hoi sin with your take away phở? A little baggie with a leaf and some bean sprouts that were almost rotten, full of little e-coli’s just waiting to ruin your evening. Bottom line: stay away. If the food don’t get you, the cashier will.

I should have listened to the reviews. It was by far the worst phở I have ever had. I ordered the Vegetable Phở, the vegetables were straight from a tin can of mixed vegetables. They don’t even spend the time to chop up fresh vegetables. The bowl came with a few wilted thai basil leaves. I then started to eat it but there were no noodles in the bowl. They took so little time and consideration that they actually forgot the noodles and it was just a bowl of soup with tinned vegetables for $ 8. Don’t waste your time and money, go somewhere else.

If u wanna authentic phở, recommend u go to LA, but here in Dallas, to be honest, here Vietnamese food taste so so, not authentic, beef is to dry. but the portion for large is big. That is only point satisfied me.

I really would only give this one or two stars but I’m trying to be nice and I’m going with three because I feel that improvements can be made? No actually I don’t. I did not like the food here and I would not recommend it to anyone. Also, the staff seemed like they did not enjoy working here, and the man at the front counter was cocky and not very helpful. Basically, this is not Vietnamese food, don’t bother. But if it’s the last place on earth and you are starving, by all means.

The food is very good, and this is a great place for lunch(when I’m downtown). However, if you want to grab takeout on the way home at night, don’t be surprised if you have to park 2 – 4 blocks away and walk. When they first moved downtown, they did curbside deliveries as a matter of course. Now, I’m told that it depends. We miss the good old days and don’t go nearly as often as we used to.

If you want some of THE worst service you could ever find, then come here. The cashier was so rude, completely talked back! When we had to repeat a question, he said«I just said that. Yes.» Talked to us like we were incompetent when trying to place an order and had questions. Then had to pay $ 1 for basil. At a phở place. Never in my life have I had to pay for basil/cilantro/bean sprouts. This place is ridiculous, and I see why it got three stars I feel that one star is too kind.

We had an event at the Majestic and came across Phở Colonial for dinner. It’s a clean restaurant and I like the bikes on display. I guess it reminds me of Vietnam??? I did love sitting by the open windows on a breezy fall night! Front row to all the crazies outside. The menu looks good. We ordered the spicy crab spring rolls as an app and it was different. The rice paper and veggies were fresh. The crab didn’t have a distinctive crab taste nor was it spicy and I can tell when something is spicy. The peanut sauce was good. Bee ordered the vermicelli and she liked it. I didn’t try it. The bestie wanted phở but they announced that they ran out of phở noodles but could sub vermicelli or pad Thai noodles so she and I each ordered banh mi and we split it. The Asian BBQ pork was shredded and dry. I think it was supposed to be like the red Chinese seasoning, xa xiu, which really can be moist and delicious. The ribeye was good, a bit more moist and tender but it could have more flavor. The veggies were fresh. The bread was ok. I ordered mine as a combo bc I love shrimp chips and I really should’ve dipped the sandwich in the phở broth but I forgot because… that’s not typically how I eat banh mi. But I follow directions and that’s what the menu said! The Viet coffee was good. The girls said the saketini was light even though the cashier/bartender said there were 2 shots of sake in it. Overall, the food was ok and the ambience was casual. I am on the fence about wanting to try other items on the menu if I’m ever in the area again.

First time there — I asked for a recommendation on the phở– the guy looked at me like I had 2 heads — I asked what was popular — again no suggestion and I felt like he rolled his eyes at me/finally he suggested a mix of the tenderloin and brisket– not much more to say other then the meat tasted old — bad — I didn’t eat it — and the side of cilantro and basil was wilted — sprouts were brown — and seriously it was like they couldn’t bare to put anything on the dish — see pic and add back the 2 leafs of basil I had already put in my bowl– def will not be back — the place should kill itself

This place is Phở-King awesome. Came with friends, one had Pad Thai, another had sesame chicken and I had the Asian BBQ pork bahn mi. Had a bite of all three dishes and they were all awesome. Super fresh and better than any Asian options downtown. Would recommend to anyone! And I will be back!

I wasn’t really impressed by the shrimp spring rolls themselves, but the peanut sauce was pretty good. There was just something off about the spring rolls — they just didn’t taste that fresh. My friend tried the chicken phở and she said that it tasted very salty, like it was made with MSG. I’m not a huge fan of MSG, so I’m glad I didn’t have the phở. Since we’re both very familiar with authentic Vietnamese food, we weren’t that impressed with the taste and quality, but I guess if you’re wanting to satisfy a craving, this might do.

I went to Dallas for a conference and decided that I wanted to get some Phở. I’ll take full responsibility for then ordering Thai. The pad Thai was awful. The noodles tasted mushy and the dish lacked in flavor. Needless to say I won’t be back …

Convenient location … that’s it. I was so excited about this place, passed by last year and never went inside so it’s sad that this was very disappointing. The place isn’t authentic, not only represented by the flavor but also the fact that there isn’t an asian person working here. Grilled pork banh mi — somehow i have a feeling this is how a YouTube video I watched taught me how to make it. Banh mi is my favorite at a phở restaurant, too much pickled vegetables and the bread was kind of stale — they even wanted to charge $ 1.99 for a side of broth + shrimp chips… Combo phở — the brisket was VERYGOOD, probably the best thing during the meal and probably at all the phở restaurants. Extremely soft, must’ve been cooked for a long time. Noodles were quite soft, broth was pretty thick which was good. Not very generous on the sides though. The place also has a very unique atmosphere for a phở restaurant, a bit confusing but the best way i can describe this place is probably: very Americanized phở restaurant that is meant to serve the people who’s not into real phở.

Conveniently located across the Comerica Tower, this place is packed during lunch time. You order before sitting down, which cuts down on the wait time. The prices are bit high for phở, especially for their banh mi sandwiches, which are usually $ 4-$ 5 elsewhere. Blame it on the location. I ordered a combination phở with brisket, flank, tendon, tripe and meatballs. A small was plenty for me even though I’m a big eater: they’re definitely not stingy about their meat. The brisket was obviously just thrown in the soup to cook before it was brought to the table, so it was still slightly pink, and very tender. The broth was pretty clear and tasted flavorful without any hint of MSG, and the noodle at the bottom of the soup could easily be separated and had a good texture. The only thing that disappointed me was the sides(bean sprouts, jalapenos and basil leaves) that come with a bowl of phở. The bean sprouts were sparse and the jalapenos have wilted a bit. Only redeeming vegetable were the basil leaves and a bit of cilantro.

I liked it! Gets super busy at lunchtime so arrive between 11 – 11:30 to make sure you can get back to work on time. Although my meal wasn’t as spicy as I was hoping, it was a nice change of pace from your typical sandwich place for lunch. Downtown.

Pretty bland, dry, and boring food. I don’t care if it’s not authentic, but it must taste good. I didn’t finish my meal and I always finish my meal.

O M G. I will never come back here again. Eating is one of my favorite things to do, such a simple pleasure. The phở here is unlike any other Viet restaurant I’ve ever been to. Obviously not in a good way. Like the clientele here don’t venture out of downtown so they won’t know what phở is supposed to be like. I ordered tofu phở on their veggie broth. As listed on the menu, it comes out with what appears to be a frozen bag of mixed soup veggies. That’s right. Corn, cubed carrots, celery, green beans, LIMABEANS, broccoli AND romaine lettuce. Whoever is making this phở up, needs to go do some corporate stalking and eat at a real Viet place. This is phở’d up. NONE of these mixed veggies belong in phở. Ever. End of story. The grilled pork spring rolls usually are my favorite things too! And, theirs tasted funny, like it was marinated in sugar and soy sauce. That also did not taste like any other Viet place. Boo. So, now, instead of being happy that I could treat myself to lunch, I regret spending any money here. I will never be back. And, I told my friend that she needs to find a real Viet place to really know that the food is good, light and fairly healthy.

I was craving phở on the day that I stopped in. I ordered a small bowl with beef. There were a few pieces, but I am not sure if items worth the $ 8 – 9 bucks that I paid. I guess my issue was the service. Okay, if you are downtown, maybe most of the tables should have paper towels and sauces. Maybe if you ask the food runner, they should attempt to help letting everyone fend for themselves. I can get my own, but I don’t have time for a scavenger hunt. There are better options in Richardson.

This place is a little gem. The cucumber lemonade is so refreshing on a hot day. I went her right before I had to be at work and ordered the Phở Dac Biet with extra meatballs. I was not disappointed, the food came out extremely fast and it was delicious. The broth tasted pretty authentic and the serving size was perfect. The lady at the front greeted me the second I came in and was helpful with my menu selection. The only tip I have is for this place is cleanliness within the restaurant.
