this is a corporate complaint from houston. the lady that takes your call from the corporate office must be family. she is unprofessional, promised a call back from herself or the franchise owner, never heard from them. yes, its only five dollars. But those five dollars are their bread and butter. not getting into what happen in the store or on the phone, both where disturbingly dissapointing.

I must have driven by this Pizza Patron a thousand times without ever considering dropping in. This particular franchise is located within blocks of our home in a run down shopping center anchored by our neighborhood Blockbuster. Normally, when the family starts jonesing for a pie, we either order delivery from Pizza Hut or cruise downtown or uptown for a Campisi or iFratteli fix. However, about two months ago after suffering through two, almost inedible, cardboard delivery pizzas from Jabba the Hut, I finally relented and gave Señor Patron a try. My brother –in-law’s hardy endorsement was ringing in my ears as I entered the place. «At $ 4.99 for a large Pepperoni, how the hell can you lose?“Good point. Actually, this brave leap outside my comfort zone turned out to be a rather wise decision. Don’t know about these other reviewers, but the pie I recieved was pretty damn good. Not great, mind you, but far better than your typical P-Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns, name it chain. And the price is literally impossible to beat. A four topping, 14» pie ladened high with double pep and sausage came to $ 6.99. What?! Ya gotta be kidding me. Unbelieveable! Crust was a little thicker than I like, but more than offset by the generous heaping of toppings. The sauce was spicer than your usual bland tomato fare and and the cheese was evenly spaced and bubbling from rim to rim. Bit greasy, but then, most good pies are… I also appreciated the fact that the manager was very friendly, solicitous and helpful and actually gave me his card and asked me to call him if there was ever a problem with the food I received. I appreciated that and actually have kept his card. Only problem with Pizza Patron is that they don’t deliver. But if you live or work in the hood, I’d hardily recommend your giving them a shot. Three and a half stars.

Cheap pizza that is close proximity to the office and when you can get 12 pizzas for 90 bucks to feed a staff of 20, in a hurry, it sort of all works out. The pizza isn’t all that thrilling. They pre-cut the slices but you still end up sawing away to divide the pieces. That doesn’t work out in an office with no knives. Have you ever tried to saw pizza with a plastic fork? It doesn’t work. The toppings were sort of sliding around on the pizza grease once I finally got it on my plate. One pizza had jalapeño on it, but instead of looking succulent, they were just dried up little green things with minimal flavor. They take pesos in addition to dollars, so maybe that’s why they stay in business in Oak Cliff.

I used to love this place. I had not had it in a few years. We had been ordering from Pizza Hut and Pappa Johns, whenever the pizza mood hit. Delivery was just more convenient. The other night we had friends over for kids movie night and decided to order Pizza Patron because of cost. I talked people into it also because I had remembered it being such good, and fresh tasting pizza. Man did I ever feel like I put my foot in my mouth, after that first bite. The pizza was gooey and had hardly any sauce. I really didn’t see a hint of pizza sauce on the pizza we ordered. It reminded me of the crap that gets served at those kid’s party places. I felt guilty for putting my guests through that. What happened Pizza Patron??? You guys make crappy pizza now!
