Really great, they have sandwiches and food for pretty affordable prices. The smoothies are good too, but a little pricy compared to the food cost. But over all not bad and about the same price as smoothy king. Sandwich and smoothy comes to about $ 10 – 11.

After eating here twice, the food just wasn’t very good. This seems to be more of a smoothie place than an eating venue. Perhaps I’ll try a smoothie next time.

Great little find. I walked here from fairmont. I did get salad bar and added chicken. Great recommendation from Unilocal users!##

I work just down the street and have been yearning for a healthy lunch spot for months… Today I happened up on this place on Unilocal(I must have skipped over it a hundred times), and wandered over to check it out. I got the Greek wrap for about $ 6 — it’s very tasty! I’ll definitely be back, especially since it’s so convenient!

PHENOMENAL, fresh, friendly, healthy, affordable I was in Dallas for work and upon arrival I was disappointed with the lack of options(no chipotle, no panera). I like to eat healthy and affordable when I’m on the road and I was only disappointed I didn’t find this place until day 3! I looked on Unilocal for a place with smoothies, which led me to Power House and bazinga! Jackpot. they have healthy smoothies, fruit based, yogurt, dairy free and post workout. and SOGOOD. The first stop I got a Post work out smoothie and that’s when I was hooked. I tried to go back for a dinner Greek Wrap but unfortuantely the hours of operation on Unilocal are incorrect — they close more like 7pm than 9pm. The next day for lunch I went in with colleagues. I got the salad bar: for under $ 8 they have all you can fit into a to-go container. I ended up with BOMB strawberry spinach salad the dressing was unreal! Falafel, hummus, pita, salmon ziti pasta salad with sundried tomatoes and a variation of a greek salad. Everythign was fresh and delicious. I wish I could have brought the hummus on the plane with me. My coworker got the muffelatta and was expecting the NOLA variety, but this was a little different, though she said it was still good. Coworker #2 got the chicken parm and said it was delicious(his wife’s a chef, he would know) and he said for the price it couldn’t be beat. The guys are really nice and the place is clean. A gem in a BBQ-eatin city.

Within walking distance of the Dallas Aquarium, we decided to go here for a late lunch. The line which never seemed to go away, even at 2:00pm tells you this is a favorite with the locals. I had the fish tacos, which are some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The people are very friendly and I noticed the owner greeted most of his patrons by name. As busy as they were the owner found the time to stop by our table and check to make sure we were enjoying our lunch. As we were leaving he refilled our drinks for the short walk back to our car. Good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, I’m not sure you could ask for more.

Definitely a tucked –away gem in Dallas! I’ve been here several times and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious and the specials are always right on the money. My favorite is the fish tacos which are filling but not heavy, with great flavor. The owner, Adam, has been there every time I’ve gone and his presence and personality definitely put this place over the top. He’s clearly passionate about both food and people and always makes the time to make sure everything is clean and done correctly. He is also always good for a laugh and is great at making customers feel like family. If something isn’t right, he will make it right. His customer service and that of the staff is absolutely spectacular. This is a fun little place and I will definitely go back time and again, and I strongly encourage everyone to check it out, if only to meet Adam! But definitely get the fish tacos while you’re at it!

The muffaletta pictured on Unilocal drew me in. I would recommend it to anyone with expectations who is willing to give the maker some guidance toward a more elevated sandwich. It’s a promising good deal for $ 5.99. I gladly walked the city block from the Oncor bldg. to get this uncustomary lunch treat. It was ample and the consummate toasted bun signalled purpose, but the ingredients were thrown together from a garnish station, Subway style. The provolone draped meats lacked intensity even after a slow pass through a toaster hauler. This arrested muffaletta needed a little help, like a true olive salad mix with oil, vinegar, roasted bell peppers, and pepperoncinis. I saw similar items laid out at the garnish station from which to substitute. Next time, I will take charge during assembly to get a better arrangement of flavors. PHDeli sits just inside the T. Boone Pickens YMCA doorway from the sidewalk on Akard at Ross.

Top notch deli. Great selection & service. Easy location. Salad bar could use more ingredients, but high quality.

The stars that I’m giving here are because the employees were pretty friendly and very nice. We came here on a recent trip to Dallas and without really knowing the area that well, this was the first place we stopped for a smoothie as it was humid and we were parched from our flight. Unfortunately, the address on Unilocal appears to be wrong as we ended up by the court area and after calling them, they actually said it was down Akard St. the other way another 8 or 9 blocks. Since the reviews on here were so good we decided to keep trekking to hopefully get something to quench our thirst. The Power House Deli is located inside the YMCA on the first floor. In my opinion, it’s a little dingy looking and not at all what I was expecting. We were a little too late for lunch so we didn’t grab a sandwich there but we ordered a few smoothies. The reason why I’m giving this place so few stars is because the prices aren’t cheaper than your typical Jamba Juice or Robek’s(do those exist around here??) The smoothies range between $ 3.79-$ 4.99 in price. The quality tasted lower than them, to be honest, and I am pretty sure the fruits that they put inside were old because we went back to our hotel with our stomachs sick. Considering this was the only thing we ate so far for the day, I’m pretty sure the cause of my extremely upset stomach was this deli.

I have had good food here. The ambiance is not much to talk about. The owner is into his work and it shows in his service and his food. Love the smoothies.

Whether your grabbing a quick lunch bite or juicing up with a post workout smoothie, the Power House is a great quick fuel spot Downtown. The service is a tad hectic yet friendly. Power House has a pretty varied and large lunch menu from salads and sandwiches to pasta and curry dishes. Oh and of course they have lots of workout appropriate smoothies. Favorite items here include the Coconut Curry Chicken, Pesto Chicken, Spaghetti & Meatballs, and their fantastic Lentil Soup. However if I’m craving a quick post-workout boost, the Post Workout Smoothie is a reliable favorite. Did I mentioned their variety is quite random? The line can get pretty long during the post-gym lunch rush but the staff is pretty quick. The owner is always about the store chatting up with customers and keeps a nice friendly vibe. There’s nothing to fancy to add about the Power House. The décor isn’t exactly chic but it’s irrelevant for this place. If your a Downtown work bee like me, it’s become a weekly if not daily lunch time haunt.

I’ve been here over a dozen times. Chicken Taco Bowls are amazing, healthy, and a good value at $ 7. I also get a spinach wrap with chicken or turkey sometimes to mix it up. The muffalettas are good too. They have baked varieties of chips if you need them. The cookies are good. I typically get a taco bowl, a cookie for later, and a bottle of cranberry juice and take it to go back to my desk. I’m in and out with healthy food in a matter of roughly 5 minutes. Penne pasta is also good stuff. When I get that entrée I get half chicken, half meatballs. They put a nice pesto oil on it and melt the cheese. comes with garlic toast. Great on the run comfort food. Philly Cheesesteak Wrap tastes amazing but I’m trying not to dream about it too much because it is one of their heavier calorie offerings. The salad bar is always beautiful, fresh, well-stocked, and you’ll be really pleased. They always have some sort of pasta salad or greek salad or sometimes stuffed grape leaves on there too. You can stuff a big take out container with salad for around six bucks plus tax. My favorite will probably always be Chicken Taco Bowl and I add some avocado for an extra dollar. healthy protein, carbs, veggies… I can keep going all day on that meal and feel good not lethargic.

I love this place, there isn’t a better option in the area for healthy food at the price point they provide it at. I workout at the YMCA and always get one of their post-workout smoothies which are awesome(might want to ask for no honey if you’re watching your sugar intake). 48g of protein shows you they mean business. The salad bar is great(protip: ask them for some taco chicken meat to go on top of it). The chicken taco bowl is easily my favorite lunch item, good flavor, very healthy. As one other reviewer pointed out, I eat here all the time and have yet to have a bad meal. The owner is very passionate about things being done right. One morning I got a large post workout shake and the cup they gave me wasn’t full enough for his liking. He made them make me some more without me having to ask, he saw an issue and fixed it, with awesomesauce. Please do your part to keep this gem of a spot up and running. You won’t be sorry you tried this place.

Having recently become a fine dining captain in Dallas and with my new commute to the city, I have become the modern day equivalent of a Beverly hillbilly. Every damn time I turn the corner it’s like, «Golly gee look at dem giant fountains with the twirly whirly lights under neath that big ol sky catcher house.» In essence, I’m a fish out of water… but I’m slowly learning to be a land-crawler. The first month out here was all about trying to setup a base camp and get my bearings straight. There is a YMCA very close to my work and powerhouse deli is located on the bottom floor. A welcome sight when trying to figure out a quick and easy way to grab sustenance on a double shift when you have no clue of your surroundings and you parked 5 blocks away. Powerhouse Deli has great prices and pretty good food. I say pretty good because some things, like their muffaletta sandwich on bakery fresh bread or pasta w/meatballs, are freaking delicious. Other things, like their chicken pesto sandwich, are mediocre. Smoothies are outstanding. I really like the owner and the main guy who runs the counter, both are exceptionally nice and you can tell they take pride in their work. I think this is what really wins me over with this place, every time I go in, I end up striking up a conversation for awhile. Was nice to feel welcomed and like a local when I knew absolutely not one single person or place in downtown. I have worked in Dallas for almost 5 months now and while I have definitely broadened my radar for good restaurants in the area, powerhouse deli will always have my vote as solid.

I have never gotten a bad meal here so this review will mostly be a list of things I’ve tried! By the way, how many places have YOU been to like 100 times and NEVER gotten a bad meal??? The smoothies definitely have that holler back factor! My favs are the peach, mango blend in the summer; and peanut butter in the winter. The berry blend is really good, too! Depending on the season, Adam pretty much knows which I’ve come to get and always remembers to drop extra honey in my peanut butter smoothie or to add protein if I’m getting one for«the big guy» aka my co-worker. The BBQ chicken wrap is good. The muffaletta sandwich will make you hurt yourself because true to this deli’s form, that is a LOTTA sandwich! The chicken in the grilled chicken pasta will make you bite your tongue and Taco Tuesday(and Thursday) does cause a frenzy! The tacos are beef or chicken and you can get fresh avocado on top! In the morning I like to get a breakfast croissant or burrito in the spinach wrap. Even the chicken, veggies and rice special is good! I also like the pesto chicken special. Did I mention the pastas? Grilled chicken pasta! And did I say the portions are NICE? Do I need to go on? Adam(the owner) has a real talent for for pairing flavors. If you’re unsure how to top a sandwich or wrap, he is never wrong about the veggies or dressings. He is never wrong about what to put in your smoothie should you have some special need or desire, and he is jam packed FULL of nutrition knowledge you may take advantage of! If this guy wrote a diet plan, I’d be on it and, like a newborn puppy, I’d be at one of his tables daily to see what he would feed me! Healthy food never before tasted this good.

with Elite Unilocaler: Tiffany D. Mango peach smoothie was bursting with flavor and definitely cooled me down in the humid Dallas weather. At less than $ 4, its not a bad deal since the smoothie was filled to the brim and I had to take a few sips before I could use a lid. Based only on the smoothie, I would definitely come back again and highly recommend the mango peach smoothie. Yum!

I’ve only had their peach smoothie and it was pretty delicious. It’s a nice refresher for Dallas’ sweltering heat and an alternative to the Starbucks nearby. :)

The Power House crew makes a stellar chicken wrap(and a mean veggie wrap according to my pescaterian sidekick). I have eaten lunch here at least three days a week over the last two years and after a brutal spin class upstairs at the Downtown YMCA, the positively addictive wraps — piled high with chicken and fresh veg(from The Dallas Farmers Market) — are practically a religious experience. They are so addictive in fact I have a theory that they might be laced with some secret illicit substance. Still, I don’t care! And at about $ 7 for a wrap and a 1.5 liter of water, it’s a great value. They also have good smoothies, a small selection of quality protein bars and fresh bananas. Adam runs a tight ship and knows all of his regular customers by name and sandwich. Plus this is a guy who has got your back. The other day when a batch of homemade cookies had just come out of the oven(you know that smell) he actually refused to sell me one saying, «you have worked to hard to have one of these.» Thanks dude!
