I liked the new sfuzzi a few years ago when it was open. Must say when my father was the sous chef between 89 and 95 it was delicious. Till today I’ve cooked the delicious pastas and shrimp pizzas. His name is Artemio Aguilar

I usually don’t Unilocal when I’m angry, but my experience at Sfuzzi last night was just unacceptable. My girlfriends and I had heard they started doing the Wednesday nights Dame’s Dinner again(the manager invited my friend to come in a check it out). Since I hadn’t been here since they moved locations, it was a great reason to check them out. Dame’s Dinner is a free 3 course meal(smaller portions) for ladies with a reservation, the expectation is you buy drinks and tip on what the total bill would have been, Great Deal! We made our reservation for last night, and were seated promptly. Our server came out a few seconds later and we asked for a minute to check out the wine/drink list. When he came back to get our drinks, we had a few questions about the Dame’s menu. We were happily surprised they had 2 choices for salad, 4 options for entrée, and 1 for dessert, but none of the items had descriptions.(Full honesty, one of my friends is a picky eater, but she is careful to read the menu to make sure she orders exactly what she wants) He said he’d get our drinks and bring us a full menu that had the item descriptions listed. Drinks come, he starts to tell us about the Dame’s dinner(you choice one salad, one entrée, and dessert). Yes, but can you tell us about the entrée choices, like the rigatoni? «This is a pasta with chicken» What kind of sauce? «White» Does it come with any veggies or anything in the sauce? «No» Okay how about chicken piccata? «Its chicken with a caper pinot grigio sauce» Does it have any veggies in the sauce? «Yes, squash» We order. The rigatoni comes in a red meat sauce and the piccata has no veggies at all, but surprise, it’s served with pasta. My friend sends back the rigatoni because she doesn’t eat red meat(meat sauce). The server at this point could care less if we existed. At no point does he offer up fresh ground pepper or Parmesan(which the table behind us is offered both). The rest of service is uncomfortable and rushed. When her corrected order comes out he drops in on the table and runs off. We order a second glass of wine and are immediately presented with the check(the place is empty they do not need our table). When we pay, he reaches over my friend to grab the checkbook off the table. Its only after we speak to the manager that he even attempts to ask us if everything was okay(it wasn’t). Luckily, or maybe a lie, the manager had just stepped out to a meeting and couldn’t come talk to us. I’d give the food 3.5−4 stars(the only reason this isn’t a 1 star review), the atmosphere 3(they have TVs everywhere and they were all showing arm wrestling?), and the service was 1; though we noticed other servers laughing and providing good service and the busser was the nicest person there. If you go, make sure you’re not seated in Martin’s(that’s the name on the check, but we don’t actually know since he never introduced himself) section.

The pizza place here is pretty good. The place change its not as casual as before it’s more fancy now. The oven brick was still good but they don’t offer that large of a size. I like how there’s a bar and it’s a good place for a special occasion party. Everything here tasted good and bread was given for free. The staff is friendly and very chill place.

Visited Sfuzzi for a networking event. The place has a trendy vibe and 2 bar areas. Parking: Had a bit of trouble finding the place and parking was also a pain(probably because of the event). There is a small retail parking garage next door, but Sfuzzi’s also has valet parking. Cocktails: Ordered 2 drinks at the bars — blueberry mojito & Sfuzzi cocktail(peach vodka mix) — and was disappointed by the quality. The blueberry mojito had a weird texture and tasted like a 7-Eleven slurpee. Sfuzzi cocktail was more pleasant than the mojito, but a bit too sweet for me. Pizza: Our group of 7 got a table and ordered pizzas — 2 margherita with chicken and 1 sausage rustica. Each pizza came with 8 slices and we polished it all off. Both pizzas were pretty good, but I enjoyed the sausage/peppers combo more. The crust is thin, there is good amount of cheese, and the toppings are fresh. But for $ 15+/pizza, the value is just ok. Service: Excellent! Our friendly server, Al, patiently provided recommendations when ordering and was accommodating with our requests to split the check in various amounts. Our special requests(additional toppings to pizza, sauces for dipping) were accommodated and our food arrived quickly. Bottom Line: 5 star service, 4 star pizza, 3 star cocktails, 3 star value.

Sfuzzi used to be one of my favorite restaurants when it was on McKinney Ave and in Las Colinas. I was so sad when I made plans to meet a friend at the location on Mckinney one night only to find out it had closed. Then I went to the Las Colinas location to find out it was a different restaurant that just hadn’t changed its name yet. I loves the vintage vibe and the food was amazing. So of course I was thrilled to find out it was back in a new location. Although I must say if a friend hadn’t seen it walking by we’d probably never have realized it was there. The logo is small over the door in a very busy intersection. And being that it’s in an apartment complex, it’s rather easy to miss. Not sure how else they are marketing, but had I known they were there sooner I would have been too. The new atmosphere is nice; clean, modern, and a bit castle-esque. The service was ok. I’d say that’s the only reason I knocked it down a star. The hostess sat our group of 4 at a table and when we asked for a booth instead she acted like it would throw everything off. In fact when I jokingly asked if it would, she confirmed. However, the restaurant was pretty scarce at that point with maybe 3 or 4 other tables occupied. There really was no reason we couldn’t it where we wanted. The food was still as amazing as I remember. Although I was disappointed that some of my favorite items were no longer on the menu. The portobello mushroom fries especially. But I also loved the asparagus fries and the wedge salad. Would love to see them back on the menu! For an appetizer we ordered a side of the procuitto and panchetta wrapped asparagus(delish!), and my friend and I split the mushroom risotto and the penne vodka. Had I not been so eagar to try this food I would have snapped a few pics. Guess that means I’ll have to go back! Ha ha. Both dishes were awesome though. I would recommend either one for sure! Overall it was a good experience. I could tell it wasn’t the same SFuzzi I knew and that there was new management, but I think I could grow to love this one too.

Maybe the worst dinner experience I’ve ever had in my life. Very poor experience for a birthday dinner we prepared for well in advance. Something must’ve happened on this day(Sunday) in the kitchen or with the staff. I understand unexpected things happen, but it was never acknowledged. We made reservations for a birthday dinner –party of 10 and even asked in advance to have split checks(I know how dreadful that can be, so wanted to let them know in advance). There were literally only 3 tables this night, so it’s not like they were slammed. We weren’t asked for our drinks for a good 15 minutes. Then another 15 minutes for the drinks to come out. Okay fine, I guess they’re short staffed. Then, the waiter said«we have no specials today… we normally do, but not today.» Okay then… about 30 minutes later, the waiter finally came back and started taking food orders. Many of us ordered pizza but there were a handful who got entrees. We looked at the kitchen and noticed a bunch of guys taking pictures of themselves flipping the pizza in the air and posing for the camera… as though they weren’t used to doing this. So obviously, the kitchen staff was short and they had their wait staff or bus boys making the pizzas. Weird. 60 minutes pass and the pizzas are brought out for whoever ordered one. Those of us who ordered entrees? Nothing. 20 minutes pass and they bring out the rest of the entrees, as everyone has finished their pizza. Awkward. At this point, almost 2 hours into our dinner, nothing has been said about the service or lack of staff. No apologies. So, I politely ask to speak with a manager and just express our disappointment with the service received. Said«we planned this birthday dinner well in advance and are here to celebrate our friend’s birthday… and the service has been very underwhelming and disappointing. I don’t expect anything to be compensated, but I want to let you know we are very dissatisfied with tonight’s experience.» He looked at me and said«okay. i’ll get you some gift cards.» 20 minutes pass and the waiter brings our check… not split as we had discussed earlier. Sigh. Headaches as we try to split the check now(exact reason we told him in advance). 20 more minutes pass and he brings out the separate checks — still all messed up. Even after the complaint about service, the checks STILL have the 20% automatic gratuity on them. We politely asked for the gratuity to be removed. 20 more minutes pass and the final checks are brought out. End of dinner. Honestly, here’s how a good restaurant handles this kind of scenario: –The wait staff welcomes the party to their table and politely explains the kitchen is understaffed tonight but will do their best to accommodate. –After the first wave of very long waits, the manager or staff comes by and apologizes to the table. They say appetizers and drinks are on the house and apologize again for the wait times, explaining the short staff. If you own up to your mistakes, the consumer is more likely to accept your apology and actually be pleasantly satisfied with the attempt to right a wrong. If you do nothing about your mistakes, that’s how you make an angry customer even angrier.

I was so lucky to attend a Unilocal even here where we got to meet the new owner, Vito, who shared his mission and aspirations for the new Sfuzzi. Only the name is the same, the location, menu, management are all new. We were treated to a tasting of pizza, salad, focaccia, pasta, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan and a dessert plate with chocolate cake, limoncello cheesecake and panna cotta. I have to say, every bite was better than the first. It was fantastic! The pizza we had included mushrooms and bacon and it was outstanding. The chicken parmesan was delicious, but the eggplant parmesan was my favorite. I was also blown away by the panna cotta which I can only describe as magical! It was light and delicious with strong notes of almond, but also something almost floral… I think it is now my very favorite dessert… ever. I was so impressed that I will be returning to Sfuzzi tonight with my sweet 12-year-old daughter. I can’t wait!

4.5* I came here for a Unilocal event and left so impressed at the new owner, Vito, and his staff that I had to come back. During the event, Vito informed us that he bought the restaurant name, Sfuzzi, in hopes of completely rebranding the former restaurant to provide guests with a new and better dining experience. Although I’ve never been to the old Sfuzzi, Vito and his staff succeeded in doing so. Even when I came back to dine the second time, Vito and his staff treated us well. However, let’s move onto the most important part — the food and drinks. When Vito spoke about how each meal is prepared and what ingredients are used, I can tell that he is passionate about his restaurant. Here are examples of the dedication and hard-work that is being put into each meal: –Everything is made in-house, everything from the mozzarella to the focaccia bread to the marinara. –Their special orangecello cocktail takes about 20 days to make due to the fermentation process. The blood oranges are soaked for weeks before getting blended into the cocktail. –Their dough for the pizza is made in-house and takes two days to make. You can taste the love and dedication that is put into each meal. Everything I’ve tried from the pizza to the chicken parmigiana to the dessert is amazing. However, here are a few of my favorites and recommendations: APPETIZER –The free focaccia bread that comes before your meal is amazing. It’s soft and kinda spongy so it soaks up the olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette perfectly. ENTREE –The sausage rustica and spinach artichoke pizza. The pizzas are cooked Romano style — thin and crispy crust with high quality ingredients. DRINK –Orangecello(!!!) — this is my new favorite cocktail. It’s a frozen cocktail that’s smooth, subtly sweet and amazingly smooth. Don’t worry, you’ll taste the alcohol too! Seriously, if you don’t like Italian food then just come here for this! It’s so worth it. DESSERT –Tiramisu — Good coffee flavor, creamy, sweet, moist but soggy. One of the best tiramisus I’ve had. –Panna Cotta — a thick, flan-like texture jello with a mild almond taste and topped with some kind of fruit. Light & very easy to eat. Considering the dedication, great customer service and quality of food, I can tell this Sfuzzi is here to stay!

I’d love to start with some clever intro, but I really need to cut to the chase on this one: RUN to Sfuzzi to taste the orangello cocktail, if nothing else. This weekend, I visited Sfuzzi for the second time in a few weeks. On our first visit, my husband and I were at an event where we sampled the following items: warm focaccia bread, the Sfuzzi chop salad(romaine, cucumber, radicchio, artichoke, tomato, carrots, red onion, roasted peppers, with extra virgin olive oil), «perfect pepperoni» pizza, margarita pizza, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, «the Sfuzzi» cocktail and orangello. Simply stated, everything was near perfection. We also tried four of the five desserts(everything but the cappuccino ice cream), and I think we agreed that the limoncello cheesecake was the best, by far. On our second visit, we had the focaccia bread, their amazing pizza-of-the-day(which had large chunks of warm tomatoes, oregano, and generous chunks of fresh mozzarella), a side of eggplant and a couple rounds of orangello cocktails. Our friends had the sausage rustica, a couple orangello cocktails and a glass of wine. None of us left a crumb on our plates, nor a drop in our glasses. On both visits, the staff was absolutely amazing. They are all happy to help, checking in on you even if you aren’t in their«section», and they’ve been great at suggesting items, so far. The owner is SO kind and generous; He recognized my husband and I on our second visit, and he stopped by our table to chat and make meal recommendations. He personally checked on us several times to make sure everything was perfect, and he couldn’t have been more honest or down-to-earth. Even if the food weren’t as AMAZING as it really is, we would likely return to support him and his new business. To give my review some credibility, I’ll be honest and say that $ 8.00 for a «side» of eggplant parm was a bit pricey, as this is literally a 2 square inch slice of the dish). Still, the eggplant was delicious, so my complaint is very, very minor. Parking also isn’t ideal(like everywhere else in Dallas), but there is a $ 5 valet on site if you can’t find a free space on the nearby streets. Did I mention the Orangello cocktail? RUN, don’t walk!

I was confused about the new Sfuzzi but now I understand that the new owners bought the brand and re-vamped the menu and you could tell by all the yummy food we got to taste. For starters we tried the pizza and salad. Our table was served a specialty pizza with jalapenos and brisket. It was an unusual combination but delicious. The salad was your average side salad. Next we were brought chicken parmigiana and eggplant parmigiana. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken parmigiana as it wasn’t a heavy breading and didn’t make me feel like I was eating something super fried. Vito, the manager, was awesome. He went around and talked to every table making you feel like you were right at home as his family. He brought over the most delicious bread that seem to be made from some type of sour dough as it had to rise over night. It was so fresh as if they had just made it. If bread could melt in your mouth this would. It tasted like my mom was in the kitchen making the food. It was such traditional Italian food, such a wondering experience in comparison to your chain Italian restaurants. We also had a dessert plate and my favorite was the cheesecake. I am not a cheesecake fan but this cheesecake was really light and had somewhat of a zing taste to it. It was almost refreshing. I also got to try some of the Sfuzzi specialty cocktails and my favorite was the blood orange cocktail. It was so good and worth all the calories. I can’t wait to go back and visit Sfuzzi’s and try all the other awesome items on the menu.

I’ve been to the new Sfuzzi’s twice for dinner thus far and have no complaints. Our first visit was on a Sunday and we were immediately seated. My boyfriend ordered a giant pepperoni pizza and I had the chicken Parmesan and both were delicious. Furthermore, our waitress Markie was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed chatting with her and she was very knowledgeable regarding the menu; this surprised me considering recently several waiters/waitresses at restaurants I go to in uptown cannot make good recommendations for food and drinks because they don’t seem to have actually had much on the menu. Her good-service and friendliness actually stood out to me, which does not happen often. This past Sunday we returned again for dinner and low and behold we were seated at the same table and had the same waitress! Once again, she was very courteous and helpful with choosing our meal. This time my boyfriend ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and I had the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo with a Moscow Mule. My boyfriend said he particularly liked the sauce in his spaghetti and I had a taste of his giant meatballs and thought they were delicious as well. Although, I definitely liked my meal the best. Ironically, the sauce in my Fettuccini was amazing as well! My moscow mule was good, although it had a little too much ice and so I finished it in a few short sips. For dessert we ordered the Limoncello Cheesecake which was amazing! It typically comes with a strawberry sauce on top, but since they were out of that they put some chocolate sauce on ours & it tasted just as great! Overall, I’d recommend the new Sfuzzi. If you’ve ever been to the old location where Fat Rabbit currently is it seemed to be extremely cramped every time I went in. At the moment, Sfuzzi is not offering Brunch as they are still in their soft opening & finishing their patio and what not. Our waitress said they don’t really offer«lunch time specials» where items on the dinner menu can be purchased for a lower cost, but they have some sort of special every day. So far, I’m pleasantly surprised with the new Sfuzzi, as the atmosphere is very different from the old one. The host and entire wait staff seems pretty friendly as well and they would smile while walking by our tables.

The new sfuzzis is amazing! The owner Vito is amazing and cares about his customers. It has a nice dining atmosphere with a fun bar in the back! I am gluten free and it was the best gluten free pizza I have ever had and my friends loves their pizzas as well. The cheese board has fresh homemade mozzarella cheese that they make every day! I’ll for sure come back!

Due to the ice storm, they didn’t receive their seafood shipment for the past three days. But we were not informed of that until after we took the time to decide what we wanted to eat. The choices were very limited once all items with any seafood were excluded from choice. Management offered only an apology, did not comp our glass of wine or offer incentive to return.

Went on Valentine’s Day and was seated at the food bar which was completely fine as we got to see the pizzas being made and it was pretty intimate. However, having this called out that it’s a good seat when there were plenty of other tables made us a little wary. Ok that’s fine. I used to go to Sfuzzi when it was a run down pizza bar people went to after a late night in uptown and the pizza was awesome. No, I wasn’t drunk all of the time when I ate it too. It seriously was good. The service there sucked, but the pizza, yum, I was excited to see Sfuzzi open again with hopeful reviews that it was better than before. I was sorely disappointed. Let’s talk about food first. We got the margherita pizza and squid ink pasta with seafood. The food tastes a little bit of time to get out even though we’re sitting right there at the bar and can see these guys making(or not making pizzas). Not the biggest complaint, I can wait. I’m already excited. But when they make it, you can see how little ingredients they use. This is usually not an issue for me at all… the less on pizza sometimes makes it better. But the cheese didn’t seem like fresh mozzarella and they barely put any basil. In fact, so little, we could hardly see it and asked for more, which was hilarious because the chef just gave us the bin of basil almost in disgust that we asked for more and told us to take as much as we wanted. Our hands were dirty… we didn’t want to contaminate… but communicating that seemed difficult. It’s fine. The pizza itself — so floppy and mushy. The crust had that char for some reason but the rest of the pizza was just not good. Neapolitan style gone wrong. I think the surface of the oven wasn’t hot enough, but I’m no expert, I just know it was not good. As it got colder, I thought that it would probably be best if it was refrigerated and then eaten — that morning after pizza style because this hot kind wasn’t working. The pasta: whoa. The pasta itself was claimed to be made on a weekly batch and even before told that, it just tasted old. More like it had been boiled and then left out to clump and get soggy in some places and hard in others. The sauce was sufficiently spicy as indicated, but the seafood was interesting. Nothing was that flavored and the lump crab just sitting on top tasted old and unseasoned. I could barely eat this. I’m so glad that we only got two dishes because I would be extremely disappointed. Prices seemed a little high, but I’m not opposed to it if I got exceptional food. I’m just not really used to paying approximately $ 20 for a pizza that’s subpar. The service was fine, but the waitress, kept sneaking up on us. It was uncomfortable at times and I thought it was just me, but the bf thought she was creepy too. Again, nice, just awkward. This meal was so sad, I was so disappointed that we even agreed to come here.

Extremely Americanized Italian Atmosphere: Laid Back. Unpretentious. Social. Food: Meatballs — Traditional, with Red Sauce. Delicious. Uptown Hangover Pizza — Egg, Prosciutto, Bacon. Veal — Well cooked but too fatty. Potatoes as an accompaniment were bland and flavorless. Overall, my meal was just ok. I am not sure what to make of the restaurant since it seems Italian themed but the dishes are very American. This causes some disconnect in the flavor profiles of each individual dish lending to an incongruent meal. Service: Server was friendly and very enthusiastic about the menu. Made several recommendations. Ensured the table was well taken care of. Glad I checked the place out, but nothing about the food(which is all I truly care about) impels me to make a return visit.

I met up with a few friends last night at Sfuzzi to see if it was as good as I remembered when they were open in their old location. I made a reservation, but once getting there, I realized that I didn’t need one. It was a slow night, but that could have been due to it being on a Wednesday. The good thing is that they actually do take reservations! We were nicely greeted by one of the managers and were seated in a beautiful booth! The interior design of this restaurant is completely different from the old one. The colors are neutral, the space feels open, and the ambiance is quite chic. I didn’t realize that there were so many hidden hallways to lead you to other rooms until we got a little tour of the place. It’s a lot bigger than what it looks to be, with many private rooms for special occasions. There’s a more traditional dining room side in the front, and a more hip style bar in the back, which is great because you can get the best of both worlds. In order to get the HH specials, you must sit at one of their two bars. Make sure you request the bar before being seated if you want to take advantage of that. We started off with a few Sfuzzi drinks and glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. We then ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and an order of Calamari. The pizza is not as good as it was at their last location. Also, I think the«12 inch» pizza is overpriced. The pizza was good, but it wasn’t great by any means. The calamari was inedible. We each had one bite and could barely chew it due to the texture. I would never recommend the calamari to anyone! The waiter saw that we didn’t even eat half of the calamari and never even asked if everything was ok with it. Our waiter seemed very arrogant with serving us. He tried to get me to order a $ 115 glass of wine, which I thought was kind of weird being that he could see how casually dressed we were and were just stopping in for a bite. I won’t be in a rush to come back here due to the overpriced food, and underwhelming tastes. I probably shouldn’t compare it to the old Sfuzzi, but since I am, I can definitely say that the pizza and calamari are not as good. I hope to have a better experience the next time I come here, which probably won’t be until it’s patio weather time. They will have two decent sized patios!

I was so excited for Sfuzzis, new great location and their famous sfuzzis and pizza! Boy I was shocked how horrible the service was. We had a reservation at 7:30 on Friday. Sat down at 8. eh kinda frustrating but its a new restaurant on a Friday night. expected. We just sat by the bar and grabbed a drink. As soon as we are settled and seated, the general manager asks to push our table about 10 inches over and to our surprise before we can even stand up begins pushing the table over. He promises to bring two appetizers to the table as a friendly gesture. So we begin the waiting game… no waiter… no drink order… no promise appetizer… nothing. 30 minutes after sitting down we finally get our drink order in but immediately gone again. We begin seeing tables who have sit down after us receive their food. Once we order we play the waiting game again, now creeping at a hour and a half. Its becomes a funny joke at this point. Once the food arrives one plate is missing and the waiter does not even realize and leaves to tend other tables. Once it is noticed, instead of a genuine apology which is okay since its a busy night, he tries to make a silly excuse that each meal comes out on its own time… this just took an additional 30 minutes after all our meals are served. I will say the food was fantastic, but unfortunately was overshadowed by the horrible service. The kicker to the meal is how the waiter brings my friend a drink on him… and then puts it on her bill. 3 hours later we are finally graced with our bill… this meal has gotten as long as an airplane flight. I understand the restaurant is packed but if we were given decent service throughout the night our meal could of been a hour and a half at most. I wish I could give it another star for the food(which I will agree with other users was pretty good) but the service has been the worst I have ever experienced in Dallas. I wish I would say I would want to come back for one of their original sfuzzis… And I’m still waiting on that free appetizer.

The new sfuzzi’s cannot be passed up. I absolutely loved it. Forget the old sfuzzi’s, the new one is a real restaurant with fantastic Italian. I moved to Dallas 2 years ago from Chicago and my biggest complaint was not having great Italian. It is finally here, so many amazing seafood dishes! They have a great range of pasta, wood fire pizza, and specialties. Awesome wine menu and hand made drinks as well. Cannot wait for their brunch menu next month! The staff is informative and very welcoming, they got it right!

Sfuzzi Dallas is back! And i’m happy to report that it’s nothing like the old Sfuzzi(sub-par restaurant turned to tiny nightclub). The new restaurant owner is putting his focus on quality of food, service and experience. It pairs well with the new location across from steakhouse Place at Perry’s. The atmosphere is modern and bright and the food is truly wonderful. They have a nice back patio, large bar, private tables/rooms and a full service lounge that is separate from the restaurant. Something for everyone! Their website is still a work in progress and i can’t remember the exact names of the dishes we tried. We started with the Ficosha bread(enough for 4 people), enjoyed a spaghetti with clams dish, a pepperoni pizza, and finished with a Cappuccino ice cream pie. We would order everything again. After dinner, we headed to the lounge for some more drinks which was wonderful. We really had a nice time and will be back soon! You should definitely come see what the new Sfuzzi has to offer.
