Relaxed. Romantic place. We were not too hungry so we had a sampler appetizer. It was delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try an entrée.

Its seems almost every time I go to Dallas, I end up trying a different Persian restaurant. In a bit of a family outing, Shiraz was next up. Walking in, it is definitely the nicest of the Persian restaurants that I’ve been to in Dallas thus far. Many of them are of the greasy spoon variety(which isn’t a bad thing). The interior of Shiraz has a bit more of an upscale setting, ideal for a dinner with friends or even a date. Despite its surroundings, the prices are fairly moderate at Shiraz and they seem consistent with the prices I’ve observed at other Persian restaurants, so that is another good thing here. When trying out Persian restaurants, the true test for any Persian place is the quality of the kubideh they serve. If they cannot get kubideh right, the delicious ground beef kabobs served usually on two skewers, then there is no point in going back. I was very pleased to find that the kubideh served at Shiraz is excellent. You get a hefty portion of two skewers’ worth, not to mention a heaping mound of rice with saffron. The kubideh itself was very juicy and tasty and of course coupled with some somagh, made for quite the meal. Great kubideh, nice surroundings, moderate prices, and large portions. Definitely the best Persian in Dallas.

Good place, got 4 appetiser combo baba ganush, hummus, dolma, fried calimari. Myself and couple friends got lamb kabob another got lamb sirloin special. Then had deserts taramisu, baklava, and some other pastery that looked like a large twinky. Probably the best Mediterranean food in the area. Bill was 110. Server was nice, hooked her up with 30 tip for outstanding service, she was on point.

Went for early dinner 545pm. There was only 1 other table seated, which we expected since it was early. However what we didn’t expect was they they seemed to be out of a lot of items, from appetizers, main courses, deserts. Seems like they were out of a lot«just sold out». Odd considering it was so early. My 1st impression wasn’t good. The booths were dingy and seemed dirty. Place needs some sprucing up! My first bite was a falafel and immediately I knew that everything would lack flavor. The falafel babaganoush, tabouleh, rice all were very bland. Hummus was ok though not want I was used to. Overall and ok experience. Entrees were ok(on costly side for what u get — 1 skewer). The cook seemed to miss the«spices» as most items seemed bland. With so many options in Orlando would give this one a pass. Sorry Shiraz. Wait staff was friendly and nice.

I ordered in delivery while staying at a hotel nearby recently. I had the pomegrante walnut stew and the house salad. Both were excellent and it was so much food. The salad was large and refreshing after days of restaurant food. The pomegranate walnut stew had a sweet and sour tang to it with texture coming from the crushed walnuts. It came with a giant box of rice. It was more than I could eat. It was a unique dish that I hadn’t had before that was quite good. I would definitely order again!

Food was good, not necessarily great but solid. Portions were huge; definitely enough food to split or to take home for leftovers. Service was a little so-so but we had a big group so I’ll let that slide. I was tempted to try something more than just the basic kebobs but honestly the prices sort of scared me away, and I wasn’t even the one footing the bill!

Their food looked delicious; but on this weekend outing we were unprepared for the prices. They are higher than posted — a minimum of $ 16 for an entrée and if you want hummus and a Mediterranean salad they will be additional. Lunch would have easily been $ 25 –35.00 a person and not what we were up for. The waiter was very kind and talked about their affordable weekday lunch specials. Shiraz is a beautiful place. Just the wrong timing for us. Four stars for the wonderful way we were treated as we closed our menus and decided to leave.

This is my second time I’ve ever had Persian food so I might not have much experience with what to exactly order. Luckily, my Turkish friend, whom also speaks fluent Farsi, was able to help guide me in the right direction and boyyyy was I happy! The restaurant is really nicely decorated and would be perfect for date night. I ordered the ground chicken kabobs and my friend ordered the ground beef kabobs! I would highly recommend ordering the ground beef kabobs if one is having trouble with making the decision. The kabobs aren’t dry and has an assortment of flavoring! Also, the entrée portions were really big. I ate it for two meals after bringing home the leftovers. Be careful if you choose to leave the leftover in your car for a long period of time due to the smell which could resemble human flatulence. Overall: I would definitely come back if I’m craving Persian food and I had a great overall experience here! Everyone has to check this restaurant at least once

You know I’m not sure what exactly is appealing about this place — as a Persian, who has witnessed restaurant over restaurant, good and bad, this one just isn’t good enough for as much as it charges. Manager is rude — if I am correct it is the guy. The portions are non-sensible. You’re serving ground beef kabob, not ribeye steak. Giovanni’s is just as bland and it’s next door so don’t bother with that either. Though some people like it, I don’t. I’d much rather go someplace else.

Yeah, uh, these kebabs need a lot more spice and flavor. In fact, I would not even call these Persian. Maybe quasi-Mediterranean. They had next to no saffron or lemon juice. I don’t know how anyone can say this is the best Persian in Dallas. Maybe it is? Maybe Dallas has horrible Persian joints. Even the basmati was tasteless. I’m not Iranian and even I can make better jujeh than this. They do give you huge portions, though.

The bread seems like supermarket pita… Dolma is ok Babaganoush is ok flavor mild smoky aroma Calamari breaking is not my favorite overfried oil taste Chicken beef and berg meat are all large in size!!! And the meat is moist and tender, but it doesn’t have much flavor, chicken tastes like chicken beef like beef etc… Not much spice or anything… Chicken needed a bit salt but not the others Rice looked nice, but aside from a bit of saffron aroma on the yellow rice it was mild and boring… Overall… Meh, ok… Looks good and Mediterranean and big American size to get nice and plump… But Boring tastes, nothing exciting or even exotic –shrug-imho–

If you want good Persian food, you should eat here. The food is consistent; my favorite is the barg kabob. It’s definitely not cheap, but it’s worth it. Other than the strange mafia vibe I get from the two men in suits that are always sitting in the corner booth sipping on tea and doing business with each other, I’ve enjoyed every meal here.

This place is awesome!!! Went for lunch yesterday with the family. We ordered the combination appetizer plate(you can get four of their appetizers together) which included hummus, yogurt with shallots, dolma and the baked eggplant dip. We added the pickled veggies and the Shiraz salad as extra sides. They bring you fresh pita, cheese, some veg and herbs to the the table to snack on. Everything is fresh and light! So delicious! They were super accommodating for the kiddo and made her some pasta with broccoli and white sauce(which she loved)! This was more than enough food for four adults… we didn’t order any entrées. We tried the Persian baklava for dessert… and it was unbelievable! Trust the girl who grew up in Turkey and has eaten some of the best baklava in the world. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been here a few times now and each time has been excellent. It is a very clean restaurant with great service and outstanding food! There is a nice bar also. I can highly recommend the Shirazi salad for appetizer. I really love the spicy chicken kabobs. The chicken is seasoned well and juicy. The koobideh kabob is also very tasty. So I’d get the combo plate with these. It comes with probably the best basmati rice I’ve tasted and grilled tomatoes. Once I did have the Cornish hen and it was delicious as well. Lastly, a friend said the meat lasagna was something I should try… it did look good! Anyway, You should give this place a try… You will not be disappointed :-)

For those that want Persian food made with high-quality ingredients and don’t mind paying for it, this is the place to go! I had the tender kabob(Barg) dinner and my wife had the tender chicken dinner. I was very impressed with the ingredients used; almost identical to how my mom makes it when we go visit her in Los Angeles. The beef was a filet mignon cut and very juicy. The chicken was white meat and tasted very fresh. It’s a little on the pricey side, but well worth it due to its authenticity. The owner was there and came over to greet us and welcome us. We will definitely be coming back often!

On the spur of the moment we stopped at this north Dallas restaurant for lunch. We were glad we did. We shared a smoked eggplant appetizer that was so good, especially with bits of the fresh herbs along with pita bread, served at each table when your order is taken. I had to try the dish described as pomegranate walnut stew, a sweet and sour type thick sauce that came with tender chicken and basmati rice. Although this is very good, I would have preferred a dish that was not so sweet. A small taste would have satisfied my curiosity. Again the provided herbs enhanced each bite. He ordered meat lasagne and cleaned his plate, so I assume that he liked it. The atmosphere was pleasant and soothing. It is nice to eat where it is easy to carry on a conversation. Service was helpful to these Persian food novices. Prices were around $ 12 – 13 for a luncheon entrée and $ 6 – 7 for an appetizer.

Excellent service, food, and ambiance! My experience with Persian food is limited, but by witnessing all the Persian families dining here on a Friday night, you know this place is legit. Our waitress was super awesome. My group of 7 arrived all sorts of times and she was so gracious about taking our orders throughout the meal. They have a harpist playing all night, but I’m not sure if it’s just a Friday thing or not. It’s a nice touch! I always get the soltani plate when I go to Persian restaurants because I don’t know what else to get and Shiraz makes the best one I’ve ever had! The kabob was so full of flavor and moist and tender!!! The saffron rice was amazing and buttery deliciousness. I usually don’t eat white rice because I’m always dieting, but I couldn’t resist eating all my saffron rice up. While the soltani was expensive at $ 25, I brought most of it home for leftovers, and it’s so big I’ve stretched it out to 3 meals so far and counting! Bang for your buck! We also had the appetizer sampler and my favorite dips were the hummus and eggplant thing. I wish we also had the babaganoush but that’s for next time. The pita breads that come with apps were very addicting. I’m limiting my carbs cuz I’m on another goddamn diet, but I couldn’t help but eat the whole basket of bread. Even asked for a second basket and finished that too! I can’t wait to go back!
