SHR A/C & Heating

We just moved into an older house and the furnace hasn’t been working. I called Steve and he was there the next day and immediately assessed the problem: we need a new thermostat. I explained that we were planning on upgrading the system in a few weeks but would probably freeze to death before then! He came up with an innovative, temporary solution to the thermostat until we can upgrade. And, of course, we’ll be calling him to handle that. He was also wise in pointing out a few things going on with the AC and told us he’d be checking back with us in the Spring to get the system up and running before the hot days approached.

Called Steve at SHR today for a second opinion of my heating problem. He offered to come out right away and within minutes had replaced a part and fixed the issue. Another company told me the system could not be fixed and wanted to replace entire unit. For quick and honest service from an expert look no further. SHR is a company you can trust.

Steve came over in the evening and the air conditioning was fixed in 15 minutes. He was prompt in answering the call and worked with our schedule.

Our Go-​To heating and A/​C guys. Steve was temporarily unavailable when we started having trouble with the heater. The guy who we had come out told us the coils were so dirty that air wasn’t flowing well and it was causing the heater to overheat and shut off — but that didn’t sound right because the unit shut off Before the fan even kicked in. Steve came out and said that while the coils were dirty, they were Not as dirty as we were told and since they would most likely need to be replaced a couple years down the road due to age, he didn’t think it was worth the expense to clean them now. Steve could have easily supported the first estimate and we wouldn’t have known it really wasn’t needed. This is the 3^rd time we’ve hired Steve in the past 2 – 3 years. He and his team do a good job, take the trouble to keep the area clean, are honest & straight-​forward about what needs to be done and do the work for a reasonable price. I only wish he had a larger crew so that we didn’t have to wait a day or two… but i have the feeling that if it was a real emergency, he find a way to get to us sooner.

This is a small family operation. I have been using SHR for years. SHR always does great work and have reasonable pricing. Before I started using SHR, I had a lot of very shoddy work done, including workmen putting a boot through the ceiling, gas leaks (Dangerous) and lots of callbacks for issues. SHR put in a complete new system as well as keeping my old system for the back of the house running in tip top shape… And has even helped out in other jobs not related to their main work as a paid favor.
