I love the remodel of Simply Fondue. It’s much nicer than it used to be and the manager and staff were friendly. We started with the cheese fondue and the waiter did not put the appropriate amount of cheese in, so it was more like drippy soup. We got him back and he fixed it no problem. I am pretty sure he was new, so no big deal. The stuffed mushrooms are still my favorite part of the whole meal… absolutely delicious. We did the 3 meats each selection and it was just entirely too much food for two people. I wish their was a smaller portion option for this place because everyone wants dessert because chocolate fondue is the best, but it’s so much food overall and a lot of money. I don’t truly feel like it’s the best experience when you feel as though you are wasting food that cost you a lot. This is all just something to keep in mind. I have always been a fan of Simply Fondue, but lately I feel the prices are a bit steep for what it is. Overall, it’s a really cool place to experience at some point. It’s truly a time consuming dining experience which I like. The dessert and the mushrooms are the best!

The food was great but a little pricey… If you have the party of 4, one spot of the cheese would not enough for 4, and it seems they won’t fill them again for you. On the dessert, they serve 12 for each person, we have 4 but the portion seems fit for only 2 person. It was sweet chocolate, I suggest u order something with fruits would be better because brownies and cake were too sweet for chocolate dip

The food was excellent, I would have recommended the jerk chicken and the aged cheddar fondue, but with at lively as the atmosphere and location of Simply Fondue, I would have expected the staff to be more attentive and well rehearsed than the waitress my friends and I suffered through our first and last visit here. Perhaps if you talk to management before hand so these hipsters know to be on a professional behavior before you sit down it would be worth the trip. However I would suggest Terilli’s for overall quality if you are in the area.

This place is truly special for an intimate date night. We had never been here but decided to try it for New Years Eve. What a treat! It’s not a modern or newly constructed place but it is nice. That extra special touch was when the owner approached the table and introduced himself. We stared with the the beer cheese fondue — veggies bread and spinach salad– I could have made a meal with this alone. We then had steak, chicken, shrimp and more veggies — all delicious! The highlight was dessert — milk chocolate fondue. The dessert put the meal over the top! A great meal, in a romantic setting with super service is a winner!

Food was amazing and the service outstanding. We love the owner, Tony, he’s great guy and has done an amazing job with this restaurant. We got the aged cheddar fondue which is superb. Loved the teriyaki tenderloin. Of course the chocolate was to die for, we got the milk chocolate caramel with sea salt. As always the whole experience is great. Wait staff is friendly and professional. We will continue to come back.

Long review time! This restaurant is great. With the relaxing atmosphere, I felt as if I was at home. My boyfriend and I were seated immediately) thanks to reserving ahead of time). Our waitress was very nice and attentive without being intrusive. She was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions since this was our first time doing fondue. Portions are a good size so you feel full without being stuffed or feeling like you have to eat something else to fill you up. We chose the simply fondue classic which is a four course meal(45/person). The cheese we chose for our appetizer was the Mediterranean which was rich but light. For our salads, we chose salads on opposite spectrums. I chose the spinach and strawberry salad topped with almonds and sweet cider vinaigrette. My boyfriend chose the roasted bacon wedge(tip: when they say wedge they mean a decent sized wedge of lettuce so not for someone who doesn’t like to eat messy). His salad was very flavorful and savory. My salad had just enough sweetness and honestly made me want to asked for the vinaigrette recipe. That’s saying something since I am not a vinaigrette fan. The simply fondue classic comes with 3 choices of meat per person and y’all can choose to cook either Scandinavian, traditional, or cooking with broth. We chose the Scandinavian grill style. For our dessert, we chose to have the white chocolate amaretto fondue which is to die for! When our waitress brought it our she flambéed the chocolate and took our picture for us so we looked like we were roasting our marshmallows. The whole evening was awesome. This is a great choice for someone who wants a simple but fun date night. While the prices are a bit much, it helps to have a Groupon with you to cut the costs. Now just a head ups if you do use a groupon, the cost of any alcoholic drink you order is not covered.

We used a groupon($ 40 for $ 60) and came here for or anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was great! Our server wasn’t too attentive, which was nice because it gave us time to relax and enjoy the experience. The best thing about this place is the ambiance. It’s a great place to go for a relaxing date night, even if you just get the chocolate fondue(which is what I’ll do next time). A few small complaints: 1. Our offered us a champagne toast during dessert, but then never brought it out. That was disappointing. 2. The price was much higher than I thought it was going to be, even with the groupon. The menu on Unilocal gave me the idea that it would be about $ 25/plate, but the only real option they have is to do their«Traditional Fondue,» which is a 4-course meal that is $ 45/person. Just be prepared to spend a little extra if you want the full experience. Much better than the Melting Pot – highly recommended!

Used a groupon. Got a $ 100 worth of anything on the menu for $ 60 The service was sweet and friendly. I didn’t really like the fondue or the options to dip It was cool cooking the meats. Maybe I’m just not a fondue person. Cute place though :)!

I was here for dinner on a Saturday night. It wasn’t very busy there. A female waitress greeted us and walked us to a big table(probably for 8 ppl or more). I didn’t like that very much since we’re party of 2, I asked to move to a smaller one. Had no problem with that. The waiter recommended the classic course, but I know that would be too much food for us, so I just ordered off the menu. We ordered cheese fondue, all beef course for entrée and baileys chocolate fondue for dessert. I like the cheese fondue. It’s good. All beef course was not impressed as well as the dessert. We ended up paying around $ 90 for the dinner. Would I go back? Probably not. I think it’s not worth it for the price you pay plus I’m sure I will not be craving it! Will I recommend this place? Yes. Go try for yourself since I liked the idea to begin with, but remember, you will be paying for the experience, not the food.

We came here on a Monday night with a groupon and found it wasn’t very busy. While there were customers, it wasn’t not a packed house and unfortunately we had to wait quite long to be seated. The staff saw us but we stood there for about 10 mins before someone came to seat us. We ordered the traditional fondue dinner, and we started with the iceberg salad and the Swiss fondue. I loved the salad, maybe bc I thought the fondue was too heavy, it was nice to have a crisp salad to balance it all out. The cheese fondue was good and all, but the bread it came with tasted a little stale… Next we ordered various meats and seafood with the traditional method AKA deep fried. Personally I think the grill method would be something I would prefer after the fry. While this method was good, it SAS too heavy by the end of the meal. You have a heavy cheese dip and then you deep-fry all your food? Too much, also the batter tends to not stick onto your food and slip off as soon as you take a bite. I read someone else’s review and they talk about how small the portions and meat are, but personally I found it just the right amount. You are eating a heavy meal overall, with a salad, cheese fondue and then your main entrée, that is already a good amount if food. For dessert we got the raspberry dark chocolate fondue and it was quite tasty, but as someone that only eats dark chocolate, i found the options very limited. This was the only option and that was a little sad. Overall it was a pretty good meal, but would I go again? Not without the groupon, personally if I’m gonna spend $ 90 on a meal, I personally wouldn’t choose here

I have always wanted to have dinner here and tonight I did. It was not amazing I can’t even say it was good… i am kinda speechless, the best part of my dinner was the wedge salad. I would never go back nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Don’t mind if I do Fondue! I loved the atmosphere! Our waitress was so helpful with explaining how it goes at this fondue place seeing that I’m new to Dallas. Our favorite was the dessert medley! If life gives you nothing else let it give you dessert! We didn’t care much for the beer cheese so next time we will try something else. But I definitely recommend Simply Fondue for a fun, interactive and relaxing date night! *KupofKokoa*

Went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Setting was really dim, and had a rustic feel, like a fancy chipotle. The server was pretty cool, she made things easy to understand. My girlfriend and I opted to get the full experience and paid 45 $ each for it. For that price, I was expecting a little more, but overall, everything was pretty good. The cheese was really good, and so was their salad, but I wasn’t too impressed by their meat or chocolate. For every meat you choose, you get 4 pieces. I was pretty disappointed by the size though, as most pieces can be eaten in two bites. I think the cheese was meant to fill you up before getting there, which isn’t bad since the cheese is delicious, but I don’t know, I just didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth. I’m sure my girlfriend would disagree though. I eat a lot more than she does. The chocolate wasn’t warm enough either if you ask me, leaving it to be a bit of a letdown. They did provide us with complimentary champagne though, which was awesome. So overall, the service was good, setting was a little dim for me(though I’m sure other people like that), but the food was a little overpriced. I’m sure I’m paying for the experience, not the food, but even then it would make it hard to come back because of the price. Just wasn’t memorable enough to me. I think my girlfriend would disagree though, she liked it more than I did.

I love the Melting Pot but geez it gets pretty expensive! I bought a Groupon to see if Simply Fondue could fill my Melting Pot void. I made a reservation through Open Table and was seated right away. The booths and tables are pretty intimate so it’s a great for a romantic night out or some quiet time catching up with a friend. Our waitress was really attentive and understanding. I ordered the Swiss Chatlet cheeese fondue to start off… The cheese was warm and had a very strong taste of alcohol. Our waitress informed us it’s just one of those really«boozy cheeses» and I wasn’t the first customer to complain. If she knew this information, I wonder why she didn’t warn me before hand? Personally I don’t like any alcohol in the cheese fondues as it gives the cheese a bitter taste that I don’t like and all of them had alcohol. But I thought that the white wine would be less overwhelming. But I’m happy that she quickly obliged to make us another cheese fondue. We tried the spicy pepper jack and I thought it was just okay. It was way too rich for my liking but at least I didn’t taste too much alcohol. The wedge salad was really tasty though. I loved the ranch dressing! BF’s caesar salad was just okay though. Our entrée we tried an assortment of herbed chicken, tenderloin, salmon, shrimp, and scallops. They have 3 cooking styles: frying in oil, grilling, or a mediterranean broth. We chose the broth and was happy with our choice. The meats came with various veggies such as zucchini, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, cheese ravioli, etc. They served various sauces on the side like curry mustard, a teriyaki sauce, a sweet/sour sauce, etc. From here on our dinner was getting much better. Our last course was the chocolate fondue and we chose the smores. Our waitress was kind enough to being champagne to us for the cheese issue. She has did a little flambé for us and even suggested in taking our picture. Definitely no complaints on this course. Overall I would still prefer Melting Pot just because their selection better suites my taste even though it might be more expensive. Our waitress told me it was kind of Taboo to mention their competitor. She explained that the main difference is that Simply makes everything from scratch and source their ingredients locally. I’ll give them credit for that though!

Oh gosh, I’ve been meaning to give an updated a review for a while now. My boyfriend and I came back to give Simply Fondue a second try. This time we had a different server(I believe her name is Tammy?) — and our experience was completely different from our first visit! So yes — customer service plays a huge role in one’s dining experience, especially for a fondue restaurant. Our server was friendly, informative, paid great attention to detail and most importantly, filled our fondue pots with consistent amounts! The mixed meat platter and Mediterranean cheese are solid choices — I recommend these if it’s your first time. All in all, I’m glad we gave Simply Fondue a second try, because now we know that the restaurant has the potential to offer a wonderful dining experience.

This was such a fantastic experience. I was with a party of 10 and all but one of us have never been to a fondue restaurant. Our waiter Dwayne was AMAZING!!! He was so good at making sure our first experience was a good one. Even telling us that certain meats were not as good as others. He walked us through every step of the process with a smile and a great personality!!! We will most definitely be back!!!

What a fun place for a date night! The atmosphere is perfect, they now have a full bar, and the location on Greenville Ave makes for a fun post-meal stroll(especially if you’re people watching). I love getting the four course meal(come hungry) because you get to try it all. It’s about a two hour experience, but having the server prepare our cheese at the table, getting to cook all our own meats(and the amazing stuffed mushrooms) for the main course, AND having a plate full of brownie bites, rice crispy treats, fruit, and angel food cake to dip into the chocolate(there are so many to choose from) makes for a really fun and unique date experience.

I came with my sister with a Groupon. I’ve been to fondue places before and was only impressed with the chocolate fondues. I was very pleasantly surprised with Simply Fondue. It was waaaay better than Melting Pot! They make everything in front you with everything from scratch. The chef/server combines the ingredients in front of you to make the cheese fondue. They had a lot of good cheese fondue choices and they werent just plain melted cheese. The Mediterranean Cheese Fondue was absolutely delicious! It comes with sundried tomatoes, garlic, pesto, cheddar and beer. Entrée wise, we ended up getting the combination plate with the scandinavian grill. I was impressed that they had different cooking options such as grill, canola oil in skillet or boiling in broth. We chose the grill and was satisfied. Be cautious when cooking… food tends to splatter oil on you. Also you leave smelling like the grill. The chocolate fondue was great too! By this time, we were already starting to food coma. We chose the original dutch chocolate so we can actually taste the flavor of the fruits/treats. I was thoroughly impressed with the presentation(they light the chocolate on fire) and the taste. Overall a great experience. A bit pricey for the food here but it’s a perfect date spot.

We bought a groupon for this place and decided to try it out. The restaurant is in a great little hipster neighborhood filled with bars and other little eateries that were all super cute. The night definitely had it’s ups and downs. The restaurant has several booths with low lighting, candles on the tables and makes a great date night venue. The waitress asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her it’s our 1 year anniversary(we are lesbians by the way) and our waitress actually asked us of we were legally married which was a little weird to which we responded yes, we just moved here from California and then the waitress said«I’m sorry– I’m a republican Christian just so you know.» Which totally made things awkward starting things out. And then said«I apologize on behalf of all republican Christians — even though I don’t think you have the right to marry, it’s none of my business.» Who says that? Then as the waitress was describing the menu we told her we are vegetarians and to which se asked us several, several questions about being vegetarian which is one but we were it celebrating and didn’t really feel like playing 20 questions but we happily answered. We got several things. We got the Swiss cheese chalet fondue to start and it was good; it came with bread and veggies and was made table side. My favorite part of the evening was the salads. I had the Greek and my wife had the wedge(no bacon) and the house made dressings were phenomenal. Then we tried the«traditional cooking“entrée course which was oil based not broth based. And I will mention we are vegetarians so we didn’t try any meat but instead had tons of veggies and stuffed mushrooms and stuffed jalepenos which were great. Really enjoyed I’d say 5 out of the 6 dipping sauces. However, it was weird once again with our waitress because instead of coming out and explaining how to cook our veggies or what not she just walked up to the table and said«I only know how to talk about the meat so I don’t know what to say to you» and kind of stood there so I had to ask her the questions about cook time and how to stuff the mushrooms instead of her just saying it– I felt like I was pulling the information out of her. Are we the first vegetarians to ever dine at this place? For dessert we had the raspberry chocolate fondue and I honestly couldn’t taste any raspberry at all which I was pretty disappointed about it but overall pretty good and it was flambéed table side. The food was pretty good for the most part, the service was awkward at best and at the end of the night when I paid the bill I was over charged by almost $ 40 dollars and they had to refund he money back on my card but the money was still taken out of my account so I hope it will come out okay once my bank moves it from a pending charge. We just moved to the area and I honestly don’t know if we will be back– we haven’t really decided. Update****:The owner Tom reached out to me and was so nice and apologetic about our experience. Tom invited us back and a chance to make it up to us. However, my wife just didn’t feel comfortable at this time so we have no immediate plans to go back. The owners customer service was really great and above and beyond. I really didn’t expect a call back from anyone so the fact that I did was really awesome. If my wife ever comes around to the idea we will give the place a 2nd chance based on the customer service we felt from the owner.
