Great atmosphere and place to grab a drink. Food is fantastic, everything from presentation to taste. I had stuffed avocados and the short rib. The rib was so tender it came off without using a knife! It was absolutely delicious!

Sundown is my boyfriend’s & my favorite place to eat & have a good time. No matter what you get, it’s good. Personally, I love the Chisholm burger. I’ve tried all the different cheeses with it & I can’t decide which version is my favorite. They have live music every day. The nights I’ve been there the music was good, especially the reggae bands. The service is great. They have some wonderful waitresses, even though we usually get the same waitress(who is awesome). All the times, I’ve been there I’ve had no problems. It’s good place to have some beers(especially if they’re half off) & have a good time.

I love this place. Always cozy. Last Sunday Jeff and Reed took such wonderful care of my friends and I… they even let us sit upstairs and watch the Golden Globes on the heater porch! It was so fun. And the Crème Brulee is AWESOME.

Nice spot with a range of musical guest. Only complaint is we bought tickets to a concert and had front row sests. Because there is no security about 30 people were allowed to stand in front of the people who paid for seats. We couldn’t see a thing. Wouldn’t go back to a concert there because of this.

This is a spectacular place to grab a drink. The atmosphere was really lively and the bar tenders here are pretty nice. The crowd here is quite an interesting mix. Young old and many different forms. It’s a spectacular place to enjoy funky people break it down when they normally don’t.

The food here is so amazing. Can’t speak to the venue/event space. But the food, YUM. Lots of organic etc. options, which isn’t really my thing, but it is what it is and it tastes great — the flavors here are better than any of the«organic» labels. The prices are fairly reasonable, too… you can find a good range of prices, at least. I’d come here much more often if(a) it was closer to where I live and(b) if parking on Greenville wasn’t such a soul-crushing experience.

YESSSSYESSSYESSSS! I love everything about this place! Maybe I was a little jaded because I was finally exploring a «new» area(new to me and a million years old to the cool kids) but I loved this little restaurant and so thankful someone finally got me out there! I was meeting a friend here for a quick dinner/drink before our show at the Granada, and it was PERFECT in every way! I loved the ambiance, dim lighting(but not creepy dim), great service, yummy drinks(I went with a dirty martini), and delicious food! I ordered a Quinoa/Kale salad with grilled chicken on top and it was fab! Perfect pairing with my dirty martini, and the perfect portion size pre-show. I can’t wait to go back!

Sundown is definitely a 4.5 star restaurant! I really enjoy coming here whether it’s for brunch or dinner! I tend to sit on the patio– even on colder nights(they have heaters). I went last night for dinner and I tried one of their new menu item– the Greek bowl. Oh my this was really AWESOME! Falafel, fresh green beans with sun dried tomatoes, quinoa and tzatziki sauce with a side green salad. I was hesitate to venture away from my «regular» choices, but I was VERY happy that I did! The flavors of my dish all paired perfectly together(which was a pleasant surprise b/c I didn’t know how the green beans would work for the dish) and the different textures of the dish really made my eating experience perfect!!! I would definitely order this dish again! I also enjoyed the tzatziki sauce being on one side of the bowl and not drenching my dish(though I did find myself wanting more). I will definitely taste more of the new menu items soon– only if I can pull myself away from the dish or the awesome Buddha burger. I always enjoy eating here because of the high quality of food and ingredients they choose for each dish!!! They have a very simple daily happy hour– eat day of the week is a different drink on special. Wednesday is ½ whiskey, Thursday is ½ wine. The service overall is avg/good here. I’ve had good and bad service here. I’m always in good company when I go to Sundown and enjoy the experience of eating here, so that’s what brings me back!

I love the location and vibe of this restaurant /bar. They have fantastic farm-to-table food when you are just wanting dinner, and then it turns into a super happening bar at night. Always live music– never a cover charge. The rooftop patio is great, very spacious. It definitely has that lower Greenville hipster vibe, so no need to dress up when going here. My friends and I had a terrible experience with one of the bar tenders. He completely lied to us about how he made our drinks– he ran out of the bottle half way through making our 4 drinks so just left 2 with no alcohol thinking we wouldn’t notice. We had to get the manager involved to solve this. The manager and all the other staff were very friendly, which is why I still gave this bar 4 stars.

1 star for good, attentive service. 1 star for ambiance — lots of live music. 1 star for great use of space. Nice rooftop and patio areas. Otherwise, the food is okay, but not great. And holy hell overpriced. I’d probably come here again if I needed to kill some time before a concert at the Granada, but probably not for dinner.

I had heard that Dallas knows how to do brunch, and Sundown at Granada proved that to me. This was a really cool place, and the space seemed to have potential for great entertainment(and based on the other reviews, it sounds like they definitely deliver!). Brunch had a casual, relaxed vibe. This was much perfect as I was attempting to recover from a wild(but fun) night! We started with an obligatory mimosa carafe to share. I ordered the french toast. It was a generous portion topped with whipped cream, a sweet strawberry sauce, and pecan smoked bacon on the side. The breakfast plates also come with a side of sweet potato hash. There are few things better than the classic breakfast combo of sweet french toast and salty bacon, and this was no disappointment. The whipped cream and sweet strawberry sauce made this a decadent meal. The only thing I didn’t love was the sweet potato hash, which was a little on the dry side. I’m not a huge fan of sweet potatoes in this form, so I might be a little biased. Overall, this is a great casual brunch option with a solid menu and good service!

Whether you go to Sundown on Grenada for drinks or dinner, you are sure to get a first rate experience. At first the place felt more like a bar and thus I was unsure we should stay on after ordering an apéritif. The cocktail and appetisers however convinced me of the contrary: this is a place you want to come to regularly for brunch, lunch, dinner or just for the drinks and entertainment. The food and drinks are refined in flavour, the ingredients being locally sourced or even grown on site helps tremendously, but the place is not pompous. The staff truly connect with you and even the chef takes the time to come and speak with you. Top marks for the best meal experience i have had in Dallas! Please don’t just take everyone’s word for it, go try this place out for yourself. Bön appétit!

Granada, how does it feel to get good review after good review?! Lol. I came here a long time ago when I worked for Buffex and we had our Christmas party there! I’ve been coming ever since! Returned last Sunday for brunch! The atmosphere is divine. Great music! Chatty people! Sunshine! Rooftop dining! Misters and everything! I think I’m in Paris sometimes, lol! I ordered the ‘Sunrise’ which includes organic bacon, eggs any style, and sweet potato hash! I cleaned my plate! The mimosas we crisp & fresh! You cannot beat a carafe for $ 9! My friend & I got at least 3 glasses a piece from that! Our waitress Stephanie was sweet! I’ll be back! Thanks Sundown for being exceptional!

This is one of my favorite places in the DFW area! I’m not just talking about food either(which is amazing), but for entertainment, drink specials, and all around environment as well! Sundown has some of the best drink specials. They have 2 dollar mimosas and $ 4 bloody Mary’s for Saturday/Sunday brunch! The bloody Mary’s are great! They are always hosting great bands and events. I try to make it out on Wednesday nights for whiskey Wednesday(½ price whiskey) and movies on the roof!

My sister and her boyfriend(who is vegan) were visiting from out of state, and I chose to take them here for brunch because it was voted Best Vegetarian Restaurant by D Magazine. That’s a little strange, since it’s not really a vegetarian restaurant(they just have some great vegetarian/vegan options) but we were excited to give them a try. It turned out to be a great choice! I always get stressed out when restaurants don’t take reservations for Sunday brunch(I know how much Dallas loves its brunch!) but when we arrived(at the height of prime brunch time) we only waited 10 minutes before we were seated. We sat out on their lovely patio, under the fans and gentle mist, with a great view of the Granada theater. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful all through the meal, pointing out specials and making recommendations. I ordered the Buddha Wraps, which are two tortillas(corn or wheat, your choice) stuffed with quinoa, avocado, kale, scrambled eggs, feta, mushrooms, and chipotle cream, and served with a side of sweet potato hash. Totally delicious and totally filling! I was thrilled with my meal. My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Quinoa Salad, which he enjoyed(although he said it wasn’t as flavorful as he expected, given all of its components). My sister had the Big Bend, which they tout as Dallas’ first version of a vegan benedict, but it was basically just a garden burger topped with kale and chipotle avocado sauce. Not really a benedict, kind of underwhelming. My sister’s boyfriend ordered the vegan version of the Buddha Wraps(no eggs or cheese, avocado instead of cream) and liked them a lot. Another hit were the $ 2 mimosas. If I hadn’t been driving, we would totally have ordered their $ 9 carafe. Overall, a fun place for brunch and a good place to take your vegan friends. After you’ve already taken them to Spiral Diner, of course.

Love beer, cocktails, and delicious food? I do, and this place made me happy! TONS of locat and Texas on tap and bottled, including Deep Ellum, Peticolas, Revolver, Community, Lakewood, and more! The cocktails are also AWESOME. And there are so many to choose from. You can also build your own old fashioned — choose your own whiskey and bitters! They also have a pretty extensive wine list, for those wine-only drinkers! TONS of vegetarian and vegan options! Stuffed avocado(vegan upon request), queso and chips, flatbreads(vegan by substituting avocado for cheese), salads, grilled cheese, the Buddha burger(vegan — and the house made quinoa patty is great), Machu Picchu bowl, pesto pasta, and Asian pasta. That doesn’t even include brunch options! Free live music at 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday. Great for vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers!

The best part of seeing a concert at the Granada? Getting to pre-game at Sundown with some super-tasty food and great drink specials. I met some online friends here before the Amanda Palmer concert and was stellarly excited about their whiskey wednesday! They knew the secret path to my heart and used and abused it for the benefit of all involved. I had(a few) old fashioneds while trying several of their items to share between friends. The patio was GORGEOUS in May, but I could imagine it getting pretty hot in the summer. Luckily they have a spacious inside too, and someone was(of course!) playing music. We tried the queso(ended up having to order a 2nd because we devoured this with the crispy chips in no time), chicken pesto flatbread(so very very yummy, I wanted to lick the plate, in fact, I think I may have), and shared a Sundown burger which was probably one of the best things to eat in a while. I love the open nature of this place, and the convenience of being able to grab a snack and a drink before your show starts! GENIUSANDDELICIOUS! Now I just need to find another concert to go to so I can go back!

I feel like this review should be a two parter. One review for dinner and/or drinks and another for brunch. Though the dinner and drinks portion should be 5 stars, I feel like the brunch should be 2 stars, which really bums me out to type. To sum things up, we sat in the back at a long table by the bathroom. And once there, you could not ignore the smell of wet garbage the whole time. I have no idea if it was the kitchen or the bathroom, but it was unavoidable. After we ordered our brunch for the table, we began to notice that it was taking a bit longer than we expected. A few minutes later, our waitress came out to let us know that the kitchen was backed up and it would take a little while longer. I believe from ordering to getting our plates, between 45 minutes and an hour passed. When our plates did come out, it was in waves. It took around 10 – 15 minutes for everyone to get their meals. And what we did get for brunch was not worth the wait. Easily something a corner store could whip up. So, in summary: Go for lunch or dinner, not brunch. And if you sit by the bathroom, ask to move.

My girl friends and I came here before a concert at the Granada after we discovered their happy hour special on Wednesdays from 4−7pm: $ 10 sangria carafes(red and white wine options!) and ½ off all their flatbreads.(And if you’re a fan of whiskey, all whiskey drinks are ½ off all day!) We ordered red and white sangrias to share(one carafe is enough for 4 people to each get a glass), and they were delicious! Not strong at all(which depending on the day, can be a good or bad thing.), but they did overdo it with the ice by putting ice in our glasses AND the carafes. Not sure if they do that on purpose, but I would probably ask them to skip the extra ice next time. The restaurant really prides themselves upon using quality and healthy ingredients, which kind of surprised me because I had thought they just served typical bar food, so that was nice to hear! We were all pretty hungry, but ordering 3 flat beards was perfect to share between 4 people. Out of the Kale Caesar, Hammered Goat, and one more that I can’t remember, the Hammered Goat was my favorite, but that’s because goat cheese, mushrooms, and mozzarella is probably my favorite combination ever. Also I LOVED how their flatbreads were made more like thin crust pizza that was still slightly dough-y and not overly crispy. I have an issue with flatbreads that are basically thin crackers with light ingredients tossed on top because it doesn’t fill you up at all! But as I mentioned, we were very satisfied and full after sharing three. We’ll definitely be back! P. S. Eat outside, weather permitting! The inside seemed kind of dark and stuffy.

Reclaimed wood walls, retro furniture, vegan waitress. Started with the Waldof, Southwestern and Italian«stuffed avocados», but I’m confused, we were served three mounds of guacamole. Endive and cucumbers were used for dipping. The Waldof was the winner of these three. Next up was the gluten free hammered goat. This was a home run! The goat cheese flavor was subtle, the mushrooms flavorful with a nice sweet finish. Shrimp tacos were as expected, nothing too impressive, although it did have a unique relish of beans and lentils in a vinegar sauce. Braised short rib was the highlight. Nice sized portion, tender and delicious. It’s worth a second trip for me because of the relaxed atmosphere and hormone free menu items.
