After seeing the reviews, I am starting to slowly realize that I was treated the way I was because of my race. My fiancé took me there last night for my birthday of all days. We sat at the patio, that was nice. Our waitress, Megan came to us and asked if we were ready to order drinks or if we needed more time. I asked for a bit more time since I wanted to look closely at my options with it being my first time there. 30 minutes later… Another waitress asked us if we had been helped? I said no. She took our drink order and went inside… 10 minutes later our drinks finally come out with our waitress. We order our food, I am so hungry that I have no choice but to stuff myself with bread and butter. By the time our food comes out I’m about ready to leave. The food was okay. I was pissed so even if it was good, that waiting period did enough damage to my taste buds to not enjoy anything. Everyone around us was getting served, except us. I’ve never been made to feel so out of place to say the least.

I took my fiancé here for her birthday. I was really excited to bring her here and the food and the service was really mediocre. I ordered the«Bistro Steak Frites». It was all frites with hardly any steak. So basically I paid $ 26 for a plate of fries. What a rip off! My fiancé ordered the Roasted Natural TX chicken which just tasted like chicken we could have got anywhere else. After reading the reviews I figured this was a good place to take my fiancé for her birthday but I was wrong. I noticed everyone around us was getting faster service. Someone else had to take our drink order because our Waitress Megan disappeared. I will never come back to the Grape after this experience.

The atmosphere is quaint, the food is creative, simplistic, & done right. I frequent the bar during happy hour. The in house stuffed olives are to die for! One martini two martini three martini floor!

Came in for a Sunday brunch. I saw many reviews about it being ‘cozy’ and ‘intimate’, but I was nowhere near prepared for exactly how tiny this place was. We had a party of 2 and the wait with no reservation at 1230pm was about 45min, which was about what we expected. Anyway, we had heard many great things about the burger so we were certainly here for that. In the mean time the sausage cornmeal hushpuppies beckoned me from the menu and it might have been the best decision I’ve made in quite some time. I implore you to try them, they were sweet and savory and just a real treat. The burger was indeed amazing, and the frites were even more delectable, but everyone’s already told you that. These hushpuppies could be life changing!

Was taken here for my birthday as a surprise and I loved everything about it. It’s small but cozy and intimate. The food was amazing; from appetizer, main entrées, dessert, and wine. Our waiter was also very gracious and accommodating.

I’m so glad I got to eat at this restaurant when I was here. They have an indoor and outdoor seating area, but it does get packed, so I recommend reservations. First off, they change their menu monthly, so you will never really get the same food. Oh how I wish I lived in Dallas because you will never get bored of the food here. This place is one of them. I came here with a date, and the ambiance definitely sets the mood for that! I ordered the pasta, and they do give a lot, so come with a huge appetite. Pair that with a glass of wine and it makes for a great evening. Service was great! They came and checked around often. I recommend stopping by here for a meal if you’re ever in Dallas!

The Grape is known for their 1) acclaimed burger and 2) their cream of mushroom soup. Of course, I came knowing that I would get those two items. Note: Burgers only available Sunday and Monday so plan accordingly! Came with a group of 4 for Sunday brunch. The place is very small and cozy. There is a bar area that serves as a waiting room. We made reservations ahead of time since brunch is always crazy, but our friend took awhile to get here. They were really nice about it and went ahead and sat us since it was already around 1pm. Last table for brunch is around 2om. LOVED the burger! For a high grade restaurant burger, it is very decently priced and amazingly delicious! The patty is 10oz!!! I endedup just spliting it because I thought it was too much, but then I ended up wanting more than just half. As a lover of burgers, I would consider: Tier 1: P-terrys, in-and-out, shake shack Tier 2: Liberty Burger, Hopdoddys Tier 3: Off-site Kitchen, Boulevardier, The Grape My friend got the shrimp and grits(new hype in town) and the haystack. I loved the presentation of the Haystack. It looked really healthy and delicious. When I come back, I will definitely do the burger and the haystack next time.

What a lovely little restaurant. I am so glad that I picked you, out of the sea of possible restaurants in Dallas that we could have dined at on our two day trip. My husband and I came in here on Thursday — which actually happened to be the restaurant’s 43rd anniversary Chef’s Tasting Dinner with Wine Pairings. We opted for the regular menu, though, as we had never dined here before. Upon walking in, past the quaint patio and through the wooden door, there is a small reception area where we were greeted by two friendly women, one of which led us to a cozy table along the back wall in the front room. We were given water before our waiter came by. I ordered the Smashing Pumpkin cocktail — a mix of pureed pumpkin and spirits. I was expecting it to be sweet, but it wasn’t — and I actually liked that. It was a refreshing fall drink! He was very professional, and talked to us about the specials as well as a little about the restaurant. We decided to start out with a bowl of their mushroom soup, and one of the charcuterie plates, with three selections: Smoked Cheddar, Smoked Ham, and Summer Sausage. Neatly arranged, it came first — with crisp green apples, red grapes, zesty in house whole mustard seeds, habanero jelly, crispy crackers, and another small sweet jelly, cubed. It was delightful. The meats and cheeses were fantastic — we pretty much finished everything. The soup, also, was incredibly good. It was the reason that I chose this restaurant, as my husband has been in search of a mushroom soup similar to that of Jackson’s,(Great American Restaurants) on the east coast. Very, very similar — and he enjoyed it quite a bit! For our entrees, he ordered the Niman Ranch Pork Ossobucco, and I ordered the Mustard Crusted Salmon. Pork Ossobucco: My husband liked his dish a great deal. It was tender, fall off the bone and had wonderful smoky flavors. The porcini mushrooms, along with the polenta and juices complimented the pork nicely — and he ate everything which is a good sign! I loved my Mustard Crusted Salmon. While the salmon was a bit fishier than most salmon I’ve had recently, the tang of the mustard balanced it nicely. The bed of creamy Napa cabbage and bacon that it rested on, though, was a dream. Creamy, slightly crunchy and salty, paired with the salmon — it was really perfect. We ordered two desserts to go: The walnut crumb cake, and the chocolate terrine — both were fantastically done. I would definitely drive all the way back up to Dallas to eat at this restaurant again. The whole ambiance of the restaurant really set the mood for a lovely evening. Paired with great service, and great food, you just can’t ask for more than that. I certainly hope to come back one day, and see you again.

I’ve had this placed bookmarked for brunch but ended up here for a girl’s dinner. It’s an older restaurant and they appear to be celebrating their 43rd anniversary! That’s quite amazing! The restaurant was super packed, so make sure you make reservations. I forgot the name of my cocktail but it has celery juice and mint. It was actually pretty good. Then I started off with a bowl of their mushroom soup, so did all the other girls. Let’s just say we all were scraping our bowls to get every last bit of soup! It was soo delicious! For my main course I had their pork osso bucco. It was worth the $ 29 for the portion and with the meat falling off the bone. The polenta served with it complimented it well. My sister had their veal lasagna, which we both did not care for and felt it was not worth the $ 29 price tag. The portion was small and lasagna was dry. My friend had their quail dish and that was tasty. I definitely will be coming back to try their brunch at least.

Came here for the burger after seeing this place made it on Thrillist’s best burgers in America, and by golly they make an amazingly flavor burger. It was definitely worth the Über ride from downtown to check this place out. It is mostly a wine bar, but they also have some local craft beers to make all in your party happy. The burger comes with the standard toppings, but all are good quality especially the tomato and pickle… oh, I wish I could have another one right now. Next time I’m in Dallas, I will return.

Came here for a birthday dinner and the staff and service as always is great. Dinner I optioned for the scallops and fries, loved it and also had the(I’m not sure of the actual name) lamb bruschetta and was full of flavor. That being said I’ve also been here on a Sunday/Monday night which only means on thing; the best burger experience ever. It’s most likely off menu but it’s a local«secret“order it and you won’t be disappointed. It’s basic classic hamburger made perfect. Each ingredient from the bread to the meat is amazing and when put together really makes for an amazing burger. Something In my opinion that really goes overlooked here is the best calamari you’ll ever have, pair that with the sauce it comes with and you can just come here exclusively for that again sometimes it’s off menu but ask to see if they have it available given that they run out often. In recap this place is a great dinner option for a intimate dinner(complimentary valet is a great plus) love the m streets area but this place can hold its one on two things the burger and calamari and for it to have both, well takes it over the top for me!

We came here with some friends on Burger Night. If you don’t know about burger night at The Grape, let me be the one to break the news. On Sunday and Monday night, The Grape does burger night. This is not on the menu, but the locals know that this is the night to come! The burgers are cooked to your liking(medium for me and medium rare for the hubby). They come fully dressed and with a side of delicious, hand cut fries. You can taste the love of this burger. Our whole table ordered burgers and my hubby got a cup of soup, while I opted for a side salad. We were impressed with the wait staff and the cozy interior. Valet is complimentary. Be sure to tip! Make sure to call ahead for a reservation if you don’t want to wait. But… just in case you forget, the burger is worth the wait :)

Everyone should come here for brunch at least once in their lives. They have a really cool atmosphere. The design and décor is really different and creative. The art gives you the feel like you’re somewhere in Europe(Italy maybe?) The only thing I didn’t like that much was how tight it felt inside. Other than that, I loved it. The complimentary valet was a plus. Our waiter was delightful, funny and very nice. My bf and I loved how he wouldn’t take up our plates until we finished insisting that if we didn’t we would regret it. The value was good for the food and portion sizes were generous. Parts of the restaurant showcased their several awards and achievements that they received over the years(refer to my photo.) Food was wonderful. We ordered the mushroom soup and hushpuppies at first. The hushpuppies were just okay to me. Nothing special but not bad. The consistency of the mushroom soup was thinner than I preferred but I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good and I would definitely order it again. I was surprised that they had the recipe hanging in the restaurant but that’s great because I will totally try making it at home. Next I ordered the haystack which I loved. Super flavorful and pretty. Anything with avocado is a win for me and this was a huge win. It was colorful and so filling. My bf ordered the burger(medium) that’s rated the best burger in TX according to Texas monthly and Dallas magazine. He said it was good, juicy and flavorful. You can tell the bread is from a bakery. I took a bite and it was wonderful. I loved the pickles in the burger because it had a sweet taste to it. Kind of like the pickles you can get at Twisted root root burger. Anyways we had a great experience and will be back soon!

Thank you Grape! Went here with my fiancé for a date night. Nice atmosphere; in a homey space with dim lighting; overall, a good place to take a date. CHARCUTERIE: we didn’t know what meats and cheeses to get, so we let the staff choose. We had two cheeses(one hard, one soft) and spicy soppressata, accompanied by grapes, olives, pickled cucumbers, and mustard seeds – great beginning to the meal! COALMINER’S PASTA: My fiancé ordered this hearty pasta dish. Their take on a carbonara, it is a big plate of pasta with bacon, cream, spinach, etc. with yolky egg on top. Basically, the yolk and the cream mix to make a pasta sauce and, combined with the bacon and spinach and everything else, it makes for a really flavorful sauce and and a pleasantly filling dish overall. GRILLEDSCALLOPS: I wanted to order a kind of dish I rarely order out. And since I’m not a huge fan of polenta and because I rarely order seafood dishes, I got the Grilled Scallops – and i was not disappointed at all! The polenta was well-cooked and not too off-puttingly mushy, the scallops were fresh, and the dabs of pesto added another dimension to the dish that countered the mild flavors of the scallops and polenta. I know that they change up the menu regularly, so I’d be more than open to coming again and trying whatever else offerings they’ll have on hand. The Grape Restaurant is legit and has been around for a long time for good reason.

Googled«best brunch in Dallas» and was definitely not let down by The Grape! I would highly recommend making a reservation because the tables fill up quick! I made a reservation for 10:30(right when it opens!) and when we got there the restaurant was already over capacity! It’s small and quaint inside, next time I wanna sit outside! I got the cinnamon pull apart bread, and it was delicious! Plenty for a table of 2 – 4! For the entrée I got the haystack, see picture. On this menu I feel like it would be hard to go wrong — but next time I’m gonna try their famous classic burger! I saw a table get one and I just knew I had to come back. The only reason I deducted a star would be for the service. Everyone was very friendly and nothing came out wrong, but they are super busy all the time so you don’t get a ton of attention from your server. Great experience for Sunday brunch!

FYI — I have only tried The Grape for brunch and have never tried it for dinner or lunch. My rating is solely based on my brunch experience. With that said — BESTBRUNCHINDALLAS! I am a big bruncher and this place is the best of the best and is a treat every time. Make sure to get a reservation a week in advance because they fill up quick. It is a smaller restaurant so space is limited. Also they only do brunch on Sundays. For the table you must get the sausage and sweet cornmeal hush puppies! They come with buttery maple syrup and powdered sugar and are worth the calories(trust me)! Their biscuits and gravy are one of my favorites and the Haystack is a fun option as well. Their bloody mary is strong, spicy, and hits the spot. I have heard that their burger is a must, but I haven’t tried it yet.

My boyfriend and I went here a few weeks ago and ordered two of their highly popular menu items. The mushroom soup was to die for, and my boyfriend even commented on how good it was even though he doesn’t like mushrooms! The famous burger is just as they say-amazing! Definitely enough food to split, especially if you order an appetizer or something else. Parking is always horrendous on lower greenville, but the ambience makes up for it. Also, love that they have pretty affordable bottles of wine, which is nice to split on a sunday evening over a burger and candlelight.

We came in for Sunday brunch at 11 without reservations and we were able to sit at the bar only waiting five minutes for a couple of seats. The bartender was immediately friendly and asked if it was her first time and she gave some really good recommendations, but we explored a different route although appreciated her input. We have the famous mushroom soup, the haystack and shrimp and grits. each one was oh. so. good! MUSHROOMSOUP: this soup had the perfect texture and did not have too much mushroom which were small bits of it in the soup. We debated on seconds HAYSTACK: I don’t like a lot of tomato — fresh or cooked, so I was a little hesitant on how this would work with the rest of the elements on the haystack. Every item on this dish worked so well together and not one was too overpowering over the other. The Siracchia chili sauce circled around the main items and it provided the exact amount of kick that it needed. The tomato provided just the right amount of acid that blended nicely with the potato and there was just the right amount of cheese that I could see it stretch from the fork as I was going to bite into it. SHRIMPANDGRITS: The sauce on this dish was so heavenly and even though it did have cooked jalapenos blended into it in small bits it was not spicy as I was anticipating it was going to be. The shrimps do have the tail on it so I would have preferred not to wrestle that out of my bite but it was so creamy, flavorful and delicious.

The grape restaurant was okay. I really liked the coal miner’s pasta. It is a creamy pasta sauce with a kick of red pepper topped with bacon, spinach, and vital farms egg. I got the half order and I felt satisfied with the portion but if you are really hungry go ahead and get the full order. I felt like the restaurant was so tiny in a uncomfortable way. I guess if you wanted to create intimacy by utilizing a confined space this is the place for you? The service was alright. Our waitress made a point to make sure our table setting was set all proper and even placed the table napkin on my friends lap. I personally was satisfied with my food but the rest of my table was really disappointed by food. I think I would go back it I knew it wasn’t busy. It’s just too tiny of a place to enjoy when it’s packed.
