Texas! Elite Event @ BarBelmont

Beautiful weather, beautiful view, beautiful people topped with live music and yummy, satisfying food… naturally, I had an exceptionally good time at the BarBelmont Elite Event!
The food catered by smoke was plentiful and yummy.
The live music was a great surprise & so entertaining and ICAM w/​Lisa P.: Unilocal/​Journey sing-​alongs FTW!
I was totally impressed with how magnificent all the photos taken by the Kezeles turned out! You guys are so talented.
Thanks Katie for bringing the guns and horses. Love it when we all look so good in costume. We should all go on tour! ;)
All in all, had a great time hanging out at the Belmont a place I just love with all you marvelous people.
Yay for Nikki for continuing to raise the bar & finally getting her shaman powers under control! woo hoo!
Next time, I promise to mingle more with all the new people who I can not wait to get to know better. :)

Awesome event at The Belmont. The weather was perfect, the music was fun, the food was plentiful and the wine was tasty! Smoke looks really cool too. I can’t wait to try it soon!

Nikki B., you never fail us in lining up awesome events. The Belmont completely blew me away in terms of the atmosphere. I pass by this place every day on the way to work and I have honestly never even noticed it. Even though it’s pretty close to I30, it’s nestled far enough back to give you a sense of privacy and seclusion. I wish we had had more time to walk around the property though because it seemed like a neat layout for a hotel. And the view… wow…I’m sure we all got some fantastic pictures! This is a great place to bring out of towners to see our skyline!
Entertainment…AWESOME!!! It was great to see some live performers at an event, they really added to the dynamics of the lobby. I appreciated the costumes which were brought to take pics with… just sad that I didn’t have enough time to get around to it. The entertainment from fellow Unilocalers made me more than content to stick with casual conversation.
As for the food… I am not sure how I felt about it. The ribs were tender, but they were a little too smokey for my personal preference. The sauce tasted like mole (which I am not sure was intentional?!?) and it was fantastic. The pulled pork was not as tender as I would have liked it and it did not have too much flavor without the accompanying sauces. There were a plethera of sauces, but some were too thick to pour. I ended up dousing my pork with one that tasted like the sauce ranch style beans come in… Overall though, the spread was fantastic, and I appreciated a real meal as opposed to lots of appetizer type things. I devoured all of my food… but the next day my tummy was not too happy with me :(

and good beer from Bar Belmont. I would have never expected to find such a cute place hidden away, seems like it belongs in New Mexico or Arizona. Mad kudos to the valet guys!

Is it weird that I gnawed on the rib bone… maybe even ate a little bit? NO, because it was SO tender!

And I’m totally rocking my Unilocal lunchbox at work today… I feel really, really badass.

I finally made it to my First Unilocal Elite Event after RSVP’ing for half a dozen and it was well worth it.
The Set up was very professional and casual at the same time. The Catered food from Smoke was Delish, Love the Pork ribs and the pulled pork along the the Potato Salad.
Hotel Belmont is beautiful and now has me thinking about staying there sometime in the near future. I must say the Unilocal Family is incredible and i was shown lots of luv for being out there for the first time. I met the regulars like Leigh P and C, Nikki B and G, Lance H, Nadeem, Etienne, James and a ton of other cool folks. I now know better to follow thru with my RSVP. I guess i must have left a tad bit early so i missed my Lunchbox but it was still fun times overall.

Mmm hmm, yet another outing of loud music, shootin the breeze, and meeting a few more Unilocalers in person for the first time. I thought for sure I’d be out of place without chaps, boots, and a cowboy hat … at best I’m a SUBurban cowboy but apparently most of the crowd that night decided to go easy on the western garb as well.
As everyone else said the food was good but I’m still in shock that there was so much of it leftover as we were beginning to make our way home … or maybe I’m just kickin myself for not putting a to-​go plate together.
And here’s something else a lot of us didn’t know — Shiner and Fat Tire also comes in a can.

I love the Belmont, Unilocalers, great food, and great music! What more can I ask for? The pulled pork from Smoke was really good; pork really is the other white meat. And what a special surprise to see my good friend Chris Dempsey jamming on guitar with his friend Danni.
My only regret is that I did not get to meet many new Unilocalfriends. Nickie G. is right; just catching up with old friends was a task in itself. And a Unilocal lunchbox for parting? Well slap me silly and call me Lurline. This party was a winner!

Wow… just wow. I have been hearing the raves about Hotel Belmont for YEARS and never seemed to make it out there. Well people, that will never happen again! I was blown away by the historical look and beauty of the place… and the little cottages??? Did they peek into my brain and do exactly what this girl images as the cutest hotel EVER!!! I think so! The view was breathtaking, and LeighP gave me the great tip to come back and watch the sunset out there… with the light hitting all the downtown buildings… I cant wait to go back!
The service there was great, they really took care of us. And I was so glad to see the entertainment… they are wonderful at Hacienda on Henderson, so I was pumped that they were there to grace us with their rocking abilities.
The food? Dear God in heaven… ribs where the meat fell off the bone… pulled pork that made me feel like I was back in Tennessee… rolls and potato salad. Truly delicious… I cant wait to eat at Smoke, they definitely sparked my interest with this awesome spread.
Nikki…from the venue, the food, the goodies, the drinks, the company, the entertainment and even the photo booth section with props! You truly threw an amazing party… you rock homegirl, keep ‘em coming!

Great choice for the latest Elite Event! The Bar Belmont has a laid back feel to it and the patio is AWESOME! The view of Downtown is absolutely stunning!!!
We saw a lot of familiar faces and it was great meeting some of my online friends in person, like Kristie A. My wife and I made some new friends as well. We got to hang out with Janea and her crew for a bit. I never would’ve guessed she was such a speed demon. One day we’ll learn how to work a crowd so we can meet even more Unilocalers.
The food was fantastic! We actually had to go back a second time for more pulled pork and ribs. Damn, I’m ready to go back to Smoke tonight!!! The entertainment was great. I especially liked the Unilocal singalong when they played Don’t Stop Believing. If I had some vodka in me I might I have joined in. Speaking of booze, the bar is small but the staff did a pretty good job keeping up with everybody. As I was drinking my free beer I had an epiphany. Shiner in a can tastes like Fat Tire in a can and they both taste like Bud in a can. I’m not sure if I’m a canned beer kind of guy, unless I’m floating in a tube down a Texas river on a hot, sunny day. I’m not knocking the beer though, cause free beer is definitely good beer.

Another awesome Unilocal event for the books!
First of all, the venue was great — I love this location. The BarBelmont is modern, yet cozy, and offers a great view of the Dallas skyline. Thankfully, the weather held up and it was a gorgeous evening under the stars. All of the hotel staff was friendly and welcoming even after our event had ended. Moreover, the relaxed vibe made the night easy and enjoyable.
Thanks to Smoke for providing some yummy bites. I sampled a bit of the spread and I must say that the ribs stole the show for me. I liked the potato salad, too, but the ribs left me salivating. Attractive, I know…
It was good to see some new Unilocaler faces — looks like our crowd is growing! And, as always, it was fun to catch up with everyone. What a blast! Congrats to Nikki B. for another stellar event :)

NikkiB picked a great location — I’d never been to the Belmont, so I was really looking forward to it. Plus, I’d missed the last two Elite events, so I was rarin’ to go!
About two seconds after I hit the door, I smelled the Smoke aroma. Oh YES. I really liked that the ribs weren’t weird & fatty, and had LOTS of flavor, with a little kick. The slider meat was delicious too, especially with a little dab of one of the sauces. They weren’t labeled — it was the orange-​ish slightly spicy one. :) Tater salad… well, my love of carbtacular foodtuffs is well-​documented, and this was a zingy good version.
Also, wow — what a turnout! So many new faces, which is so cool! I feel like one of the oldtimers now. Nice. It was great to see my old friends, and very cool to make a few new ones… and that view didn’t hurt. Are you kidding me? SO awesome. Why hello there, Dallas skyline!
Bar staff was great (and Shiner in cans, so cute!), food people kept it coming so I love them, but I really enjoyed the entertainment. Fun songs all night, but Don’t Stop Believing sing-​along FTW! We are a pretty talented bunch of Unilocalers, I do believe.
I also do believe I’ll be back, so thanks for the intro, Unilocal!

First, thank you Mr. Weather for giving us great weather and no rain for the night. Second, thank you Nikki for throwing another fun event. Bar Belmont is a pretty cool place and totally reminds me of Hotel San Jose in Austin. My friend and I enjoyed the ribs and the pulled pork was ok. I always enjoy beer out of a can and the live music was very nice. Good seeing some familiar faces and also meeting a few new ones.
This was my first time to the Belmont and I’ll definitely have to take the fiancée and some friends here. The bar area was smaller than I expected but the bartenders/​staff were very nice and prompt. Thanks to the weather, the view was spectacular.

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been to the Belmont. I was worried that I’d have trouble finding it, but its a couple turns off 30 and there you are. I knew I was going to be late to this event so I ate beforehand thinking there wouldn’t be any food left by the time I showed up. When I arrived and saw all the BBQ still available, a single tear fell down my face. I was too stuffed from my earlier dinner to eat anything.: (
BarBelmont is so cute and cozy. The outside patio is huge and the view of downtown is phenomenal! It was great seeing a lot of familiar faces and also meeting some new people. I finally got my Unilocal lunchbox too! Good times, y’all! Thanks Nikki!

Another win by miss Nikki B! I LOVED the atmosphere at the Belmont – it reminded me of some desert retreat somewhere. The lobby area was super cute, I LOVED the music, and the patio was fabulous! I wasn’t a huge fan of the food but I’d definitely give Smoke another try based on the articles and menus I’ve seen for it.
I know they have game nights and ½ price Belmontinis on Tuesdays, don’t they? I want to check that out, I hear the tinis are tasty, and who doesn’t love game night?!
Unilocalers, as always, were awesome. I wish I could have met more new people but I was too in awe of the view!!! AND, I finally convinced Dr. S (ok I think it was the bbq that convinced him) to come out and meet some of my favorite people! Loved seeing the regulars and got to meet Abra and Allison! I also regret not getting any Texas flag pics. But I DID get my lunchbox which I cannot WAIT to use!
Fun Unilocal events such as this make me so giddy! Hoorays and hugs all around!

The first time I came to BarBelmont was for a Unilocal get together, so it is only fitting that the second time I came there was for a Unilocal get together too! All you have to know is fabulous patio with even more fabulous view of Downtown — go here if you haven’t!
DUDE you can really tell how Dallas Unilocal is grown when you take a look around and see an entire patio full of Elites and you cannot necessarily remember everyone from their picture online. Awesome! The other thing I noticed is that it is really hard for me to get around and talk to everyone and meet new people because I have to stop and talk to everyone I already know. Add a cocktail into this social mix and it is my idea of Heaven! Booze + yapping to people I do know + meeting new people + more booze = happy Nickie.
Let me just mention the food brought over from brand new Smoke next door. Pulled pork to be placed on little slider buns? Sign me up! Being from Tennessee I can freakin chow down on some pulled pork. This pulled pork was flavorful and didn’t need any sauce (although I still like some sauce — next time). I can promise you I am going to be back over at Smoke ordering some pulled pork within the next couple of weeks. It was that good!
I loved the theme as well, especially as it gave me a chance to wear my neglected cowboy hat and cowboy boots! I need to have cowboy night more often. And the Unilocal lunchbox… the Unilocal lunchbox! I am going to have to learn how to make me something else for lunch other than Lean Cuisine so I can take it to work and show it off. LOVES IT!

I loooove BarBelmont so I couldn’t wait for this event. It was everything I wanted and more.
The view of Dallas was very clear tonight and the weather was perfect for short sleeve wearing fun on a patio. The food from Smoke was juicy and delicious, there were wonderful musicians singing a very nice variety of songs, we had a fabulous hostess (Nikki!), and wonderful people were everywhere.
I met several Unilocalers I didn’t know before and everyone was super nice. Great event :)

For my first Unilocal Elite event this was fabulous. That’s right, I said it. Great times and I really enjoyed catching up with fellow Unilocalers while meeting new ones!
I had never been to the Belmont so I was in for such a treat. The cozy little setting developed my taste buds for more needed trips out there. Plus, having Smoke cater wasn’t bad either. Mmm… delicious.

This was a great event! It looked like everybody was having a good time chatting, drinking, and eating from the plentiful food buffet! Even though I didn’t partake in the food or drink, I still appreciated it. :)
The view of downtown rocked, meeting new Unilocalers was awesome, chilling with the Unilocal regulars was cool, and finally getting my Unilocal lunchbox kicked butt!
