Cool place to stop in for a drink. The staff is friendly and the clientele is good as well. It was super slow on the day after Christmas but I’ve been here before and the place was packed.

It’s fairly chill, not like your average uptown place! Bartenders are cool and normally pour stiff. The new patio was a great addition! I’m a fan and I will come back from time to time… Val is the man too!

Ugh this bar. I had two friends in town who are karaōke whores and after taking them to Sfuzzis for dinner and drinks the were super excited to see that this place has karaōke on a Thursday night starting at 10PM. When we walked in I paused and expressed my concern that there were not women there and about twenty guys around the bar. But alas the karaōke mic was open and my friends loved that. Of course they gave amazing performances but the gaggle of men was unmoved. Nobody danced, except for us. And nobody cheered except for us. Going to order a drink at the bar was interesting. Was hit on by a creep. Then by the creepy bartender — who ended up buying my drink for me. Whatevs. Later when I went to the bathroom, the bartender escorted me. When I was leaving the bouncer called me back over and told me that some creepy little dude wanted to meet me. Double ugh. My friends got to show their talent, but nobody here appreciated it. And I’m so not down with sausage fests.

I had a burger with sweet potato fries. They gave me a large portion of fries which I just love and the burger was perfectly filling. We went around lunch time on a Saturday and they were dead which is nice if you don’t like crowds.

Its alright I guess. At least the beer was cold. Ive been here a couple of times and thats enough. My friends sampled many other things like Chili, Gumbo and Ahi tacos but I stuck with the Burger. Its probably the best thing here pretty much but– they ask you how you want it cooked and then come nowhere close to that. Absolutely goofy! Service is medium speed. Can’t get excited about Uptown B & G.

A super chill bar in a cool little area of uptown Dallas. We popped in on an exceedingly hot day and the place was pretty dead. The bartender was extremely sweet and friendly, serving us promptly without being pushy or overbearing. For two tourists in desperate need of a watering hole, Uptown definitely fit the bill.

Terrible service! Just ate on the patio and had 2 grumpy apathetic waiters that couldn’t be bothered to come check on us or even give us the basics. Ordered the Philly sandwich and it had almost no meat on it at all. I was extremely unimpressed! over rated!

Had a friend that worked here so we tried it out. Giving it was a Saturday night, it was packed. You couldn’t talk to anyone b/c it was so loud. They had tables spread everywhere, which made it even more difficult to get around. For anyone who’s been on the Floor section of a concert and you tried to get from one side to the other, it was like that. All I had was beer, so I really don’t know how the food or cocktails are. Unless your just into that kinda scene, maybe go there for lunch

Went to Uptown to grab a snack as we were giving family the trolley tour. We had texas toothpicks and queso. I was really surprised that the queso was pretty darn good. So not expected at a location as such. I was disappointed in my Sprite. Ha. Yeah, Sprite. I had asked the server if the calibration was good, because I am kind of picky. He assured me that it was, Nope! He really should have tasted it, there was NO syrup in it. Even a non-picky person would have agreed with me. I asked for water instead and the water tasted ok. :) Nice place to hang out on the patio on a beautiful day!

Cucumber vodka soda. It’s like drinking spa water cuz you can’t taste the alcohol. Maybe because I’ve already had a few drinks, but holy cow they make a good chicken tender and pretzel!

This is a great low-key and laid back place if you need a break from the«typical» uptown scene. I believe there were some nights were karoake, and I heard that they also hosted some kind of game night. The entrance to the place was a bit unusual, the door was at the side of the building. Don’t really have much to say, but if I ever come back, I’m sure I’ll have more to write about. :)

We were at the bar on a Saturday night and it was packed. Great people watching. And although the bar was 2 or 3 people deep all night, the service wasn’t half bad. **However, be warned: when you order a Red Bull Vodka, you’ll pay for a Red Bull Vodka, but you’ll be given some cheap energy drink concoction from the gun and Vodka. Makes me wonder if they’ll give me a Coors Light next time I order a Miller Lite.**

I’ve been to this bar several times because I know some girls that just *love* this place. Usually you pass by Black Friar, Idle Rich, Reinfeld’s, or any other perfectly good candidate for drinks and nice company on the way to this hell-hole of an establishment. When you arrive you’re sure to be met with the dingy atmosphere. The floors are dirty, there are too many people, tables are strewn about the bar with no rhyme or reason. You can always bet on a few dumb girls singing the worst karaōke you’ve ever heard in your life. And just pray that you don’t need to use the bathroom at any point during your visit… After the headache and overall uncomfortable feeling that’s sure to develop upon entering this bar, you’ll need some alcohol. The one thing that I don’t mind about this place is that the service is fast. You won’t have to wait too long despite the fact that a group of trust fund bros are running into you while showing off their bad dance moves and there are dumb drunk whores everywhere tripping on their heels trying to get out of the way of the dancing bros. You’ll thank your lucky stars when the liquor shows up, and you’ll down it immediately in hopes that it will force you into having fun. After you down it, you’ll realize that another is just a few seconds away because the bartender is so fast. Within about 30 minutes you’ll be totally faced but still having a terrible time because you’re realizing there is no place to avoid the obnoxious crowd that’s surrounding you. Finally, you’ll make it outside to find that there is a tolerable patio area(but don’t expect to be served if you’re hanging out outside). Hopefully, you’ll have a couple friends with you who are down to just go chill outside instead of dealing with the«party» inside which really amounts to a dress code enforced visit to the DMV. Unfortunately, you’re so drunk and moody by this point that you won’t enjoy anyone’s company and you’ll play the waiting game until you go home.

I give this bar two stars with a third for the delicious cheddar fries. The kitchen was open late too, which is important for late-night munchies. The outdoor seating is nice if you don’t want to be in the loud interior(or hear the crooning of karaōke stars). The mixed drinks were too sweet for my taste, so I stuck to beer. Beer and cheddar fries. The bathroom area had a strong urine stench… so be careful what you touch. Bring hand sanitizer. Or just do what I did and avoid going inside.

This place is fun! The Karaōke is a blast even if you don’t really like karoake or want to partake. The entertainment value is through the roof with this awesome and hilarious DJ that keeps it so alive. He did so years ago at the old location and still does today. I’ve never been here without laughing like a hyena. Of course there are people that are good on stage, but that’s not the best part. It’s us horrible folks that make it hysterical. The DJ is great at convincing your timid self to get up there and create laughter that is contagious with improv comments. The crowd will clap and sing right along with you. The only people that will harass you are your friends. Isn’t that the way? ;) Besides the fun atmosphere the food is pretty impressive. I didn’t expect this years ago and was so surprised the first time I ate here. Then I was Not surprised when I saw they won an award for best burger several year back. I’m not sure if the food has gone down a bit since, or if I’ve just hit it wrong a time or two. I think it’s just more inconsistent really. The burgers are damn good when they get it right, and the cheese fries are great too. I’ve never felt the need to venture past these items, but I do need to try the fried pickles since they are spears! If they hold up to those at Plucker’s Wing Factory I’ll be extremely impressed. It’s a good place to watch games with buckets of beer, or just have lunch. They also have trivia certain days of the week and brunch is an option to with a build your own bloody mary bar. Maybe they should do brunch karaōke. That would be funny. For Uptown it’s pretty laid back in case that’s something that makes you weary of going. It’s a mixed crowd which is nice. I’ll be sure to make fun of you as long as you make fun of me: D. I wish I had thought of this place for a recent bachelorette party. I’ll have to remember that for the next one. Parking isn’t too bad, just watch your signs. There are currently two lots to park in. One is across McKinney and the other is behind in back. Have fun, and if you try the pickles before I do I’d love to hear the verdict. Here’s the website for more.

I didn’t try the food. The drinks were okay. The crowd was interesting… a bit more laid-back than your average uptown bar, but really just a weird mix of preppy, slutty, and beer bellies. They have karaōke on weekend evenings, which is awesome. The setup is pretty good, and the DJ does a great job of running it so that there’s never downtime with no music in between songs. There are plenty of TVs showing various sports channels, which is a good thing, because it’s SOHARDTOHEAR. I literally couldn’t even hear the person sitting next to me unless we were both yelling. This is particularly annoying when someone is doing karaōke to a song they don’t know very well. Another big drawback is that the space is super small, so it’s hard to find a table, especially for a group. Also, you have to walk through all the people smoking on the patio before you can get inside, which isn’t too pleasant. If you’re looking for a lunch or dinner spot, keep in mind that this place is a BAR first and a grill second. It’s not a place I’d choose for a meal.

I have to say I definitely likes this place. I’ve never even thoght about going in here before they hosted the High Trek Adventure scavenger hunt today. 100 extra people crammed into their bar and 4 bartenders and servers handled it with finesse. I never thought I’d say this about this place, but ya know what? I’m a fan. So the parking can be a bit stupid if ya don’t know what to do. So lemme splain to joo. When heading South on McKinney, take a right at Routh and park in the parking lot to the right of Tribeca. This is Uptown’s parking lot. Much better than driving by 300 times hoping that one of the three spots in front will come open. They won’t. The atmosphere is chill, and not really what you would expect. I thought it would be a smokey place that smelled. well smelled like a bar. Don’t get me wrong, this place is def a bar, but it’s a bit nicer that I thought it would be. The menu is pretty extensive(for a bar), and the food looked quite good. The bar is stocked well, and guess what?! They had a make your own Bloody Mary Bar today. Hooray for me.(It happens every weekend Saturday and Sunday 11am — 4pm) They also serve brunch at that time. Um, sweet. Also, Wed-Sat from 9:30pm to 2am means karaōke. I’m not much of a singer, but boy I’d be all over that! A few TVs are scattered through so you can watch your games, and there are plenty of seats for you and your friends. Want to grab a bite to eat or watch the game alone? Pull up a seat at the long bar. Me likey. This was a good surprise to me. Oh and good drink specials, folks. Check it: Sunday Soco and Lime 3.00 Monday Margaritas 3.00 Tuesday All Draft Beers 3.00 Wednesday All Wells 3.00 Thursday Kamikazis 3.00 Friday Apple Bursts 3.00 Saturday Woo Woo 3.00 WOOWOO!

I went here on New Year’s Eve. I was very surprised that this wasn’t one of the crazy places charging an arm and a leg to get into. I was surprised it wasn’t even that crowded, seemed normal amount of traffic for any weekend evening. I actually went by myself, ditched my so called friends who didn’t want to hang out with me, and so I went to Uptown. I end up talking to random people, singing karaōke(first time in public), and had TONS of fun. The only surprise was that at Midnight, they brought out free Champagne in Champagne flutes. Karaōke was great. They had a computer @ the door, in which you go and scroll to find your song. They had a HUGE selection, and you hand it over to the DJ and he switches between actual songs and karaōke. So not bad. One star was knocked off because its better to bring cash to this bar and hold it up, bartenders respond better. I did not want to hold up my card, so I waited for awhile and saw people who came after I did to the bar get a drink. I was just annoyed. Plus I think if you flirt with the bartenders you can get a free drink(refill), from what I saw… hahaha. My long island was awesome. Some how I can’t drink Long Islands in Denton, so when I come to Dallas I’m in heaven. Overall its decent. I just recommend you bring cash on a busy night to get drinks.

Always in search of the next great burger, I Guidelive’d up this place one Saturday for lunch and I am oh-so glad I did. The menu is short and to the point — all about bar food. And it is most decidedly a bar. I had their cheeseburger, shared a half order of cheese fries(definitely enough to share a half order), and had a Shock Top from the tap. Food was perfectly cooked and the burger composition was so pretty I actually took a picture and texted it to my best foodie friend. I liked the shredded lettuce particularly. The beer was cold and the service was good. They also have that cheesy trivia game thing, which is good for those of us not really interested in the sports playing on the TV screens.
