The atmosphere is charming with the wonky floors and traditional pub feel. But the food is terrible and the service is worse. It took us 15 minutes to get the attention of server or bartender so we could cash out; they place was half empty and all 3 employees were behind the bar on their phones. We won’t be back.

I love this little place. First, it’s one of the only quaint little pubs in Uptown/West Village. Second, it’s got a pretty decent happy hour and they pour the drinks strong. My friends and I love going to this place after work for drinks. The food is decent, typical bar food. They have an awesome patio as well. Basically a chill, laid back place!

Terrible! Had one beer and made my boyfriend take me somewhere else because the place was dirty and smelled like mothballs. The staff seemed okay, but I got the impression that they play where they work more than they actually work. I live within a ½ block and can promise you will never find me here again.

Great neighborhood hang out. Love the food I’ve had so far and the service that makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. They have karaōke, live music etc and the place is always hopping on those nights. The building itself has an interesting history.

Love this place. It’s an old house turned into a bar. Very cozy. We usually go for happy hour after work and the prices are extremely cheap for Uptown. The food is amazing and again… the prices are wonderful. The brisket nachos have a very smokey flavor and totally rock. The loaded tater tots are perfectly crispy and delicious. There is usually only one girl running the bar and doubling as a waitress but she takes great care of us so we don’t complain. Love it. Will be back often.

Too bad I can’t leave zero stars for this dump. Awesome location, so much potential, but I will never set foot in this dump again. The food is nondescript bar food, which is not the basis for my complaint as the prices don’t suggest the food would be anything else. The basis for my complaint is also the reason why we left $ 0 tip. That’s only the second time in my life I have had service so rude and bad as to justify not only not leaving my customarily generous tip but earning no tip at all. The place had less than half a dozen people at the bar and only one other table in the restaurant besides us, yet the bartendress made it clear she was only interested in serving her friends that came in. Obviously everyone else in the bar knew her, and I can’t see any other reason for going to this place a second time. We were neglected and ignored and when she did finally come back to us, my friend mentioned that we had waited a while and she gave him attitude and bristled like a cat ready to fight. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE! Here’s hoping it finally fails and something good snaps up a great location and makes a good bar or restaurant. I’ll drink to that, but not at Uptown Pub. Dive bars are cool, this is a dump dishing out nothing but rudeness.

i go to that place alot… love it but the bad part is the gm she is rude, think she owns and says it’s her bar(not) does not let other employees have their stations or running them over… bottom line hurting your business brian she needs to be FIRED what’s the lady’s name who work during the day? SHEISFUN, Joe joe what a great out going guy Nate so cool. We were there over weekend the tension really bad employees seemed to be walking on glass. NOTCOOL

I don’t like to slam any place that I visit because people have jobs and I respect and appreciate the workers in the establishments that work hard everyday. That being said how the H does this place have 3 ½ stars? It was absolutely FILTHY, smelled of stale beer, had visible mold in the cooler, and to top it all off I saw the cook set his cutting board(that had black mold lines on the cutting surface) on top of the garbage can! It’s a quaint bar that could have so much promise if they would just clean it and improve their food safety practices.

Place is like a college bar when you walk in. Pretty busy for a bar at 5pm Ordered two beers and the bartender was very nice.

I have passed this place a lot and never stopped. But one night we were looking for some late night snacks and fun so we decided to try the Uptown. One of our party had been there before so she knew what to expect. I had no idea I would have so much fun just chillin’ on the patio doing karaōke! Turns out, someone in our group knew the KJ doing the show which made it even better! I didn’t try the food which means I will have to go again but the drinks were quite tasty! The crowd is eclectic but it doesn’t detract from the atmosphere of neighborhood dive. Which is great considering its uppity location! Even though the weather is getting colder, they still utilize the patio with a tent-like cover so you can still smoke and enjoy your adult beverage of choice. The only downside is the area and the parking! I suggest you Über or Trolley to the location from a lot downtown. It will save you the aggravation of parking!

This little«dive» bar makes for a nice reprieve from the rest of uptown in the best possible way(by being a «dive» bar). I stopped here with a friend for a pint before an event down the street. Service was polite and quick. The patio was nice on a great unseasonably cool night. Unfortunately, even with the outdoor seating the smell of smoke was very strong.

One of my favorite places to get bar food. The brisket nachos is a must try. Tons of meat in the BBQ sandwiches. One downside is the inside did not have proper air circulation inside. Sweating while eating is not very enjoyable. Plenty of outdoor tables though. Would advise coming on cooler days.

Amongst all the flashiness of West Village and its brand new condos, lies a diamond in the rough… Uptown Pub. I’ve literally driven past this place hundreds of times and thought«which one of these doesn’t belong» and finally found myself there on a Friday night and really enjoyed myself. I agree with others… the patio is its selling point. This particular Friday night, they had live music playing and you could tell the crowd a group of regulars, not your usual Uptown/West Village crowd. Inside, the place had plenty of spots to make new friends and intimate booths for a little privacy. Great selection of beer. I won’t be driving past this place wondering why it was there… I completely know why now.

Interesting place. I thought, by the name, it’d be a little more«uptown.» Kinda like a hole in the wall atmosphere. Uneven floors, wobbly tables, a little dirty-ish vibe. Didn’t stop us from drinking, of course. I’m pretty sure we spent a good bit here(one of those«I don’t want to check my bank statement tomorrow» kinda night). This is actually more my type of place opposed to a fancy bar. Didn’t matter what you were wearing. just a comfy place to have a drink with a group of friends. We all had a good time, and the drinks were good. ’nuff said

Situated in one of the more historic buildings of Dallas, Uptown Pub has all the essentials a good pub should have: nice service, a semi-hearty food menu, plenty of beer on tap, and friendly service. For the rowdy and seemingly nightlife laden McKinney Ave, this might be one of the least ruckus filled venues. And that’s a good thing. The outdoor deck is a good place to settle down for first timers. There is plenty of opportunity for people watching and usually a calm but festive ambiance. While the interior isn’t much to harp about, there is a genuinely divey charm to the bar itself and depending on the people count, a general easy flow to this place. No bueno on the bathroom situation, but most bar frequenters would know this upon entering anyway. There is no shortage on the drink front. A solid amount of beers on tap are available, though there is significantly more bottled beer and a handful of wines. There is ab 11am — 7pm happy hour every day which includes $ 4 wines/wells and $ 2.75 domestic brew. Whatever your drink of choice, it’s probably fairly standard practice to grab a drink, sit outside and watch the night fade away. Food situation is really limited to sandwiches and bar food worthy appetizers. Everything ranges from $ 3 – 8, so the prices are pretty darn decent for all that is available. The Uptown Burger($ 7) and Patty Melt($ 8) didn’t really impress as far as burgers go, but I would come back to experiment with the menu more. While the Uptown Brisket Nachos($ 7) are a solid finger food choice, the Soft Tacos($ 7), Buffalo Wings($ 8) leave much to be desired. If Dallas were home, I’d be here probably more often than not. A good place to drink is a necessary evil and I’m told this joint has quite the karaōke nights as well as a full audio experience for major sports games on TV. Either way, I’m definitely coming back.

I really want to love this place, the location is great, there is a lot of seating, and i actually enjoy the food(and the prices, oh yeah!)… but the atmosphere just kills it for me. Imagine a college bar, with young, barely-legal kids getting drunk by the early afternoon, losing control of their voice whereby they are shouting to each other inside the bar, acting stupid and drunk, and including significant amount of PDA. That’s the mood around 5 pm on saturday! and it’s not only them, even the older people(i mean 30s) are acting drunk and being loud and obnoxious… not my cup of tea, although i may be called an old grouch for this, but seriously, leave that shit in college or a house party… At least don’t insult my ear drums by shouting stupid conversations to each other, i would really rather save my brain cells from committing suicide at the banality of the topics and discussions… That all said, the food is great! The blue cheese burger is really good, the fries are very well flavored. I also had the fried mozarella sticks, which were good, just your general pub fare. The food is cheap, and so is the beer, i guess that is why this place attracts college-age kids. will i be back? maybe, but i will be checking out the crowd before i sit down, that’s for sure, maybe weekdays may be best, or around exam time for colleges, as I wouldn’t have to deal with the kids. just sayin’.
