I love White Rock Lake, and this is one of my favorite ways to enjoy it. I never have trouble finding a parking spot, and once parked the amenities of the area are lovely. There are plenty of nice benches in the shade where you can sit and gaze out at the lake, lots of trees to picnic beneath, and of course easy access to the wide paved bike/walking path that encircles the lake. On my last visit there were lots of ducks and geese on the shore, and it was great fun to watch them waddle around enjoying the day. This would be a great place to bring children, sit on a bench and feed the ducks(birdseed or oats, of course, not bread!) One of my favorite things about this particular park is the view of the Downtown Dallas skyline across the lake. Just gorgeous.

Winfrey Point has been all over the news lately with the Arboretum trying to use it as a parking lot. This section of White Rock Lake is a major entry point with amenities used for baseball and fair’s. Emerald Isle Road leads to this park and can sometimes be a real mess for parking, entry, exit and multi-use activities. The baseball field is really nice but doesnt have any shade for spectators… and the«house» at the Point is used for activities but can be kinda small. I’m just glad to have it close by and enjoy it as part of my park… weeds and all.
